Erik Karlsson D | PIT
Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Dealing with illness
Karlsson will miss Monday's practice because of an illness.
Karlsson has three goals and 26 points in 37 outings this season. If he can't play Tuesday versus Carolina, then Connor Clifton might draw into the lineup. Karlsson's absence would also probably bump Kris Letang up to the top power-play unit.

Ivan Provorov D | CLB
Blue Jackets' Ivan Provorov: Scores in win over Islanders
Provorov scored a goal in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Islanders.
Provorov evened things up for the Blue Jackets at the 15:27 mark of the third period, and his goal sparked a run of three unanswered goals for Columbus. Provorov sees most of his even-strength playing time on the first pairing but also has a role in both special-teams situations, so he tends to log heavy minutes regularly. He's up to five goals and 14 points this season, putting him right around the pace necessary to earn a third straight 30-point campaign.

Tyler Kleven D | OTT
Senators' Tyler Kleven: Good to go Monday
Kleven (lower body) will return to the lineup against Columbus on Monday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Following a three-game absence, Kleven will replace Nick Jensen, who will be a healthy scratch, in Monday's lineup. The 23-year-old Kleven has five assists, 39 shots on goal, 48 blocked shots and 41 hits through 32 appearances this season.

Simon Edvinsson D | DET
Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson: Scores in overtime
Edvinsson scored a goal on four shots, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.
Edvinsson collected a loose puck after a failed clearance by goalie Dennis Hildeby. Edvinsson was able to dangle around a Toronto defender before converting on a backhand shot from in tight to secure the win. The defenseman has earned two goals and five assists over 14 outings in a solid December. For the season, the 22-year-old is at five goals (two game-winners), 14 points, 48 shots on net, 71 blocked shots, 47 hits, 48 PIM and a plus-8 rating through 37 appearances. He's making decent all-around contributions, though he's slightly behind the pace that saw him rack up 31 points in 78 outings a year ago.

Moritz Seider D | DET
Red Wings' Moritz Seider: Lights lamp Sunday
Seider scored a goal on three shots, blocked three shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.
Seider has scored seven goals this season, including three over his last five games. He's earned a total of eight points across his last seven outings. The defenseman is up to 30 points (13 on the power play), 97 shots on net, 69 hits, 87 blocked shots, 37 PIM and a plus-12 rating through 40 appearances in what's shaping up as a breakout campaign after four years of steady play.

Wyatt Kaiser D | CHI
Blackhawks' Wyatt Kaiser: Tallies in Sunday's loss
Kaiser scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.
Kaiser continues to chip in offense from a bottom-four role on the blue line. He has three goals and an assist over his last eight games. For the season, the 23-year-old blueliner is at four goals, a career-high nine points, 40 shots on net, 38 blocked shots, 25 hits, 18 PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 38 appearances.

Jack St. Ivany D | PIT
Penguins' Jack St. Ivany: Garners first two assists of season
St. Ivany notched two assists, four shots on goal, five hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.
St. Ivany has played in five of the Penguins' last six games, and it appears he has supplanted Connor Clifton, at least temporarily, for a third-pairing job. The pair of helpers Sunday accounted for St. Ivany's first points of the year. He's added nine shots on net, 18 hits, seven blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through five appearances. This was his first career multi-point effort, but his role makes it unlikely the 26-year-old blueliner will have much of an impact in fantasy.
-
Ryan Shea D | PIT
Penguins' Ryan Shea: Distributes three helpers
Shea logged three assists, four blocked shots, two hits and a plus-5 rating in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.
Shea matched his offensive output from the last 14 games combined. He helped out on goals by Anthony Mantha, Bryan Rust and Justin Brazeau in this blowout win. Shea was a top-four regular earlier in the season, but Brett Kulak's arrival via trade from the Oilers has eaten into Shea's minutes. This is still a career year for Shea, who has two goals, 14 helpers, 32 shots on net, 48 blocked shots, 20 hits and a plus-14 rating over 37 appearances.
-
Vince Dunn D | SEA
Kraken's Vince Dunn: Back in lineup after brief absence
Dunn (upper body) will suit up at home versus Philadelphia on Sunday, per Joe Pohoryles of Emerald City Spectrum.
Dunn missed just one game due to his injury. The left-shot blueliner will resume his usual duties on the No. 1 pairing next to Adam Larsson on Sunday. Dunn should also reclaim his role as the quarterback on the top power-play unit, while Ryker Evans is likely to skate with the second group.

Dennis Gilbert D | OTT
Senators' Dennis Gilbert: Dropped to minors
Gilbert was assigned to AHL Belleville on Sunday.
Gilbert was a healthy scratch in Saturday's 7-5 loss to Toronto. He has six assists in 13 AHL games between Belleville and Lehigh Valley this season.
