  • Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Now dealing with lower-body injury

Lundkvist has been playing through a lower-body injury, Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars reports Sunday.

Lundkvist is dealing with a whole host of injuries including a lower-body injury that he's playing with as of late. None of these injuries are a concern, though, as he will practice Tuesday ahead of the Stars' next game Wednesday. The 25-year-old has four points (two goals, two assists) in 12 games so far this season.

  • Jets' Josh Morrissey: Day-to-day with injury

Morrissey (undisclosed) is day-to-day, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports Sunday.

Morrissey took a hit from Joel Eriksson Ek toward the end of regulation during Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Wild. Jets head coach Scott Arniel was not a fan of the hit, after which the 30-year-old defenseman is considered day-to-day. The Jets are next in action Monday against the Oilers at home. Morrissey has 30 points (six goals, 24 assists) in 36 games on the season.

  • Ethan Bear D | NYI

    Islanders' Ethan Bear: Hits waivers

Bear (undisclosed) has been placed on waivers by the Islanders, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports Sunday.

Bear began the year on season-opening injured reserve and must clear waivers in order to remain in the Islanders' organization. The 28-year-old has already had NHL stops with four different organizations, most recently with the Capitals last season. He had four points (one goal, three assists) in 24 regular-season games with Washington.

  • Adam Fox D | NYR

    Rangers' Adam Fox: Considered day-to-day

Fox (upper body) is day-to-day after being a full participant in Sunday's practice, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

While it's still unclear when Fox will be ready to play, he appears to be nearing a return to the lineup. He has missed the last 13 games. Fox has registered three goals, 26 points, 51 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and 15 hits through 27 appearances this season.

  • Capitals' Rasmus Sandin: Pockets helper in return

Sandin logged an assist, four blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Devils.

Sandin missed one game due to an upper-body injury, but the holiday break appears to have helped him avoid a longer absence. He's earned four assists over his last seven contests. For the season, the defenseman is at 11 points, 37 shots on net, 45 hits, 59 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating across 32 appearances in a bottom-four role.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Tallies game-winner in overtime

Chychrun scored the game-winning goal, fired five shots on net and blocked two shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Devils.

Chychrun scored at 4:06 of overtime to take the win in a big Metropolitan Division showdown. The 27-year-old defenseman had gone three games without a point prior to Saturday. He's up to 15 goals, 29 points, 131 shots on net, 46 blocked shots, 35 hits, 33 PIM and a plus-22 rating through 38 appearances. His 11.5 shooting percentage is only marginally higher than his previous career high of 11.2 percent from last year, but a significant increase in shot volume has fueled his remarkable pace in 2025-26.

  • Rangers' Urho Vaakanainen: Out of lineup more often than not

Vaakanainen was scratched for the 10th time in 13 games in December when he sat out Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Islanders.

Vaakanainen has been unable to claim a larger role in the absence of Adam Fox (upper body). Through 19 outings, Vaakanainen has three helpers, 12 shots on net, 13 blocked shots, six hits, 10 PIM and a minus-1 rating. He may stay on the NHL roster over Scott Morrow once Fox returns, but that's only because Morrow is waivers-exempt. Vaakanainen is likely to remain in a part-time role unless more injuries take a toll on the Rangers' blue line.

  • Lightning's Maxim Groshev: Called up to NHL

Groshev has been recalled from AHL Syracuse by the Lightning, the team announced Sunday.

The Lightning defensemen injury list is extensive: Ryan McDonagh (undisclosed), Victor Hedman (elbow), Emil Lilleberg (undisclosed) and Erik Cernak (hand). That left the roster at just five healthy defensemen, necessitating the call-up of Groshev. Should the 24-year-old, who is leading AHL Syracuse in blue-line scoring with 12 points, play Sunday, it will be his NHL debut.

  • Vince Dunn D | SEA

Kraken's Vince Dunn: Probable to play Sunday

Dunn (upper body) will probably return to the lineup against Philadelphia on Sunday, but he is trending toward being a game-time decision, Alison Lukan of the Kraken Hockey Network reports.

Dunn sat out Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Kings, but it seems like that will be the extent of his absence after he was a full participant in Saturday's practice. He has accounted for five goals, 19 points, 81 shots on net and 38 blocked shots in 34 appearances this season.

  • Lightning's Steve Santini: Sent to AHL

Santini was loaned to AHL Syracuse on Sunday, per the NHL media site.

Santini has one assist, six blocked shots and seven hits in nine NHL appearances this season. He has supplied five helpers in 18 AHL outings during the 2025-26 campaign.
