  • Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Doubtful for Sunday

Werenski (lower body) is unlikely to play Sunday against the Islanders, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

Werenski missed Saturday's morning skate, and he's undergoing further evaluation after he was injured Saturday in Anaheim. The star defenseman had a five-game scoring streak, tallying five goals and 10 points, before missing Monday's game in Los Angeles. Overall, Werenski has 14 goals, 26 assists, 132 shots on goal and 52 blocked shots across 35 appearances this season.

  • Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Unavailable Saturday

Dahlin (personal) won't play against Boston on Saturday, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.

Dahlin is on his way back from Sweden after being with his fiancee during the holiday break. The 25-year-old Dahlin has accounted for four goals, 28 points, 88 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and 27 hits across 33 appearances this season. Bowen Byram will replace Dahlin on the top pairing and first power-play unit in Saturday's contest.

  • Ryan Johnson D | BUF

Sabres' Ryan Johnson: Recalled from AHL

The Sabres called up Johnson from AHL Rochester on Saturday, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.

Rasmus Dahlin went to Sweden to be with his fiancee during Christmas and will not return in time, necessitating the recall of a defenseman. Johnson had two goals and nine assists across 25 AHL contests before being summoned.

  • Hurricanes' K'Andre Miller: Game-time decision Saturday

Miller (lower body) will be a game-time decision versus Detroit on Saturday, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.

Miller didn't participate in Saturday's morning skate after blocking a shot late in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to Florida. The defenseman has two goals and 11 assists in 29 appearances this season. If he is unable to go, the Hurricanes will likely dress 12 forwards and six defensemen, with Jordan Martinook (lower body) and William Carrier (illness) possibly getting back into the lineup.

  • Senators' Dennis Gilbert: Recalled from AHL

Gilbert was called up from AHL Belleville on Saturday.

The Senators may need an extra defenseman Saturday, depending on Tyler Kleven (lower body), who has missed the last two games and is considered day-to-day. Gilbert has played only one game at the NHL level this season, and he has been a healthy scratch on 11 occasions heading into Saturday's action.

  • Lightning's Steve Santini: Recalled from AHL

Santini was summoned from AHL Syracuse on Saturday.

The Lightning were down to only six healthy defensemen, hence the recall of Santini. He has one assist, six hits and five blocked shots in eight NHL games this season. Santini had five assists in 18 AHL games before his recall.

  • Maple Leafs' Brandon Carlo: Resumes skating

Carlo (foot) was on the ice before Saturday's morning skate, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.

Carlo has missed 18 consecutive games, and there is no timetable for his return. However, getting back on the ice is a step in the right direction. The defenseman has two assists, 34 blocked shots and 12 hits over 18 appearances this season.

  • Ryan Graves D | PIT

Penguins' Ryan Graves: Slips out of lineup

Graves has been scratched for five straight games, including Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.

Graves lost his place in the lineup when Brett Kulak was acquired from the Oilers. However, Kulak has yet to make much of an impression, and Graves' continued presence on the NHL roster could afford him a chance to get back into action. Graves has been on the NHL roster since Nov. 4, so he'd need waivers to get back to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He's put up one goal, 19 shots on net, 31 blocked shots, 13 hits and a minus-4 rating over 17 appearances.

  • Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Earns first point

Ristolainen notched an assist in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks.

The helper on Carl Grundstrom's empty-netter was Ristolainen's first point in five games since he made his season debut following his recovery from triceps surgery. The 31-year-old Ristolainen is filling a bottom-four role so far, and he's added a plus-1 rating, seven shots on net, eight hits and eight blocked shots. Fantasy managers don't need to roster him unless he gets hot on offense, though he could help in the physical categories in deeper formats.

  • Scott Morrow D | NYR

Rangers' Scott Morrow: Gathers assist in win

Morrow recorded an assist, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Capitals.

Morrow has held a steady role in the lineup lately while Adam Fox (upper body) is out. Morrow has two helpers over his last three games, giving him three assists, 14 shots on net, 16 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating in 14 appearances. He's seeing power-play time on the first unit as well, but fantasy managers in redraft formats can afford to wait a little longer to see if he can remain consistent.
