  • Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Picks up pair of helpers

Gostisbehere notched two assists in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Flyers.

Gostisbehere has six helpers over as many games in December, and three of them, including both from Saturday, have been at even strength. The 32-year-old defenseman is still best as a power-play specialist, but he has been reliable in a large role for the Hurricanes this season. He's up to 24 points (seven on the power play), 37 shots on net, 23 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating over 22 appearances.

  • Hurricanes' Alexander Nikishin: Lights lamp Saturday

Nikishin scored a goal and added two hits in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Flyers.

Nikishin has a goal and an assist over his last two games. However, even with the goal Saturday, he was down to a season-low 13:26 of ice time. The 24-year-old has done a fine job with 11 points, 51 shots on net, 62 hits, 39 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating over 30 appearances. He could get pinched out of the lineup at times once Jaccob Slavin (lower body) returns to action, though it's also possible the Hurricanes send him to AHL Chicago to keep his workload up with bigger minutes with the farm team.

  • Ben Hutton D | LV

Golden Knights' Ben Hutton: Pots goal in Saturday's win

Hutton scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Hutton has scored twice on nine shots over six games in December. He continues to see steady time on the third pairing in the absence of Jeremy Lauzon (undisclosed). Hutton has appeared in every game since Nov. 16 and in 24 of 31 contests this season, earning nine points, 36 shots on net, 21 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating.

  • Golden Knights' Brayden McNabb: Scores game-winner Saturday

McNabb scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

McNabb found the back of the net for the first time this season and did it in style, potting a snap shot past Jet Greaves to give the Golden Knights a comeback win. This was McNabb's first goal and second point of the season despite playing every game for Vegas, so his fantasy appeal shouldn't be very high any time soon.

  • Lane Hutson D | MON

Canadiens' Lane Hutson: Distributes two helpers Saturday

Hutson recorded two assists and served two PIM in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Rangers.

Hutson slid the primary helpers on goals by Jake Evans in the opening period and Josh Anderson in the second. With the pair of apples, Hutson has 21 assists on the season, along with 26 points, 53 shots on goal and 49 blocks through 31 games. He is currently tied for eighth in assists among NHL defensemen and is third among all of Montreal's skaters, trailing Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. Hutson hasn't lost a step as one of the league's most exciting young blueliners, giving him high-level value in all point-based fantasy formats moving forward.

  • Arber Xhekaj D | MON

Canadiens' Arber Xhekaj: Nets first goal this season

Xhekaj scored a goal and had three hits during Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Rangers.

Xhekaj found the back of the net for Montreal's second goal of the opening period. His twine finder Saturday was his first of the season, to go with 60 hits and 22 blocks through 28 games. The 24-year-old blueliner was due for a point, as he hadn't found the scoresheet since Montreal's second game of the season. He was a healthy scratch twice in the past few weeks, making his goal a reason to keep him in the lineup moving forward. Outside of deep leagues that value banger stats, Xhekaj remains off the fantasy radar.

  • Rangers' Matthew Robertson: First career multi-point game

Robertson had two assists, three shots on goal and two hits in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Canadiens.

Robertson had the primary helper on both goals scored by New York in the second period, which were just 36 seconds apart. His first career multi-point effort brings Robertson's season totals up to four assists, five points, 36 hits and 35 blocks through 24 games. The 24-year-old rookie has four of his five points this season over the last nine games and has remained a steady source of hits and blocks all year. While he's not quite yet at the level to make an impact in most fantasy formats, Robertson could become a streaming option in deep leagues if his current run of offensive contributions keeps up.

  • Jets' Josh Morrissey: Two helpers against Caps

Morrissey pocketed two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-1 win over Washington.

The star blueliner had a hand in Logan Stanley's opening tally in the first period and a Gabriel Vilardi power-play strike late in the second. Morrissey has gotten onto the scoresheet in three straight games, and on the season he's produced five goals and 28 points in 31 contests while adding 59 blocked shots, 54 shots on net and a plus-12 rating.

  • Alec Regula D | EDM

Oilers' Alec Regula: Gets first point of season

Regula logged an assist and went plus-3 in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs.

Regula finally earned his first point as an Oiler after being plucked off waivers one year and two days ago. He missed all of 2024-25 with a knee injury and dealt with an undisclosed injury in October, so his acclimation to the Oilers hasn't been easy. He's at one helper, 11 shots on net, 11 PIM, 12 hits, 19 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating over 18 appearances. He's virtually guaranteed a spot in the lineup following the Oilers' dealings Friday, which sent Brett Kulak to Pittsburgh and brought Spencer Stastney in from Nashville. Once Jake Walman (lower body) is healthy, Regula will compete with Ty Emberson and Stastney to round out the Oilers' blue line.

  • Oilers' Darnell Nurse: Scores go-ahead goal

Nurse scored a goal and went plus-3 in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs.

Nurse had been limited to two assists over his previous nine games. His tally late in the second period gave the Oilers a 3-2 lead, setting the stage for their dominant final frame. Nurse is up to six goals, six helpers, 75 shots on net, 70 blocked shots, 46 hits, 43 PIM and a minus-5 rating over 32 appearances in a top-four role this season.
