Miro Heiskanen D | DAL
Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Nets pair of goals in win
Heiskanen scored twice on three shots and blocked three shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Heiskanen took advantage of a couple of deflections to get his first two goals of the year. The first got the Stars on the board early in the second period, and the second was a power-play tally in the third that stood as the game-winner. Through eight contests, Heiskanen has four points, 22 shots on net, 14 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating. He hasn't been bad -- just a little quiet. Saturday's effort could get his offense on track, but his defensive acumen makes him a lock for heavy minutes in a top-four role.

Quinn Hughes D | MIN
Canucks' Quinn Hughes: Picks up two assists
Hughes notched two assists, including one on the power play, and two blocked shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens.
Hughes was held off the scoresheet in the previous two games, a span in which the Canucks potted just two goals. He helped out on tallies by Jake DeBrusk and Conor Garland in this contest. For the season, Hughes has one goal, six assists, five power-play points, 18 shots on net, six blocks and a minus-1 rating over nine appearances. There's another level to the 26-year-old's game, but it will take some cooperation from the rest of the Canucks' offense for him to get there.

Alexandre Carrier D | MON
Canadiens' Alexandre Carrier: Dishes pair of helpers
Carrier notched two assists, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Canucks.
Carrier has picked up three helpers over three games on this road trip out west. The 29-year-old set up the go-ahead goal by Mike Matheson and the eventual game-winner by Ivan Demidov in a span of 2:50 during the middle of the third period. Carrier doesn't get a ton of great offensive looks, but he receives plenty of ice time as a shutdown blueliner. He's at a goal, four assists, nine shots on net, 25 blocked shots, six PIM and a minus-2 rating across 10 outings this season.

Mike Matheson D | MON
Canadiens' Mike Matheson: Strikes for go-ahead goal
Matheson scored a goal on two shots and blocked three shots in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Canucks.
Matheson has scored twice over the last three games, one being a game-winner and the other a go-ahead goal. The 31-year-old defenseman is up to three goals, six points, 15 shots on net, 21 blocked shots, 12 hits and a plus-7 rating over 10 appearances. The Canadiens lean heavily on their top-four blueliners, Matheson included, and so far, that's meant he can produce enough all around in fantasy despite a lack of power-play usage.

Simon Edvinsson D | DET
Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson: Scores twice Saturday
Edvinsson scored two goals, including the game-winner, in Saturday's 6-4 victory over the Blues.
The Red Wings scored six unanswered goals to turn a 4-0 deficit into a 6-4 victory, and Edvinsson played a key role in the comeback after netting Detroit's fifth and sixth goals. His second marker of the game was scored on an empty net. The defenseman now has three goals in nine outings this season, but he's not expected to find the back of the net with any regularity. The 22-year-old finished the 2024-25 regular season with seven goals and 31 points in 78 outings.

Mikhail Sergachev D | UTA
Mammoth's Mikhail Sergachev: Two helpers against Wild
Sergachev notched two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 6-2 win over Minnesota.
The 27-year-old blueliner had a hand in tallies by Logan Cooley in the first period and JJ Peterka in the third. Sergachev has had a strong start to 2025-26, collecting a goal, seven points, 19 blocked shots, 15 shots on net, 10 PIM and a plus-6 rating in nine games.
-
John Marino D | UTA
Mammoth's John Marino: Pops for three points Saturday
Marino scored a goal and added two assists in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Wild.
After helping to set up first-period tallies by Logan Cooley and Nick Schmaltz, Marino potted his first goal of the season into an empty net to cap the victory. The 28-year-old Marino hasn't produced more than 26 points in a season, and he had just two assists in the first eight appearances of the 2025-26 campaign. However, Utah's surging offense is capable of putting anyone in the spotlight for a game or two.

Jacob Trouba D | ANA
Ducks' Jacob Trouba: Three-game, five-point streak
Trouba scored a goal in a 4-3 loss to the Lightning on Saturday.
He fired a slap shot from the right circle past Jonas Johansson to the short side to tie the game at 1-1 early in the second period. Trouba already has five points (two goals, three assists) in eight games this season, and they have all come on his current three-game streak. Last season, Trouba already has more goals this campaign than he did during the 2024-25 campaign.
-
Victor Hedman D | TB
Lightning's Victor Hedman: Hits 800-point plateau
Hedman put up two assists Saturday in a 4-3 win over the Ducks.
Hedman has seven helpers in eight games this season, but he's still waiting on his first goal. The future Hall of Famer topped the 800-point mark (801) in his 1,139th game, and he sits third among active defensemen behind Brent Burns (914) and Erik Karlsson (876). Hedman sits 19th on the all-time list in scoring from the blue line, and he's now just 10 points from Sergei Gonchar (811) and 26 from Doug Wilson (827). With continued excellence this season, Hedman can pass Gary Suter (844) and move into the 16th spot.

Mason Lohrei D | BOS
Bruins' Mason Lohrei: Fuels offense in three-point effort
Lohrei collected three assists in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Avalanche.
It was the first multi-point performance of the season for Lohrei, who added three blocked shots, a hit and a plus-2 rating to his ledger. The 24-year-old blueliner has one goal, six points and 14 blocks to begin the season. After recording an NHL-worst minus-43 rating in 2024-25, he has an even plus-minus rating through 10 games this campaign.
