Vince Dunn D | SEA
Kraken's Vince Dunn: Considered day-to-day
Dunn (undisclosed) didn't practice Tuesday and is listed as day-to-day, Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network reports.
After getting injured in Monday's exhibition matchup versus the Flames, Dunn probably won't play in Wednesday's preseason finale against Edmonton. His availability for the beginning of the regular season is unclear at this time. If Dunn remains on the shelf, Josh Mahura or Ville Ottavainen could push for a spot in the Opening Night lineup.

Alex Gagne D | COL
Avalanche's Alex Gagne: Elevated from minors
Gagne was called up from AHL Colorado on Tuesday.
Gagne's promotion is likely due to the fact that Colorado is playing back-to-back preseason games with the Golden Knights on Tuesday and Wednesday. The 23-year-old blueliner would have to put in quite the performance in one of those games to break into the Avs' Opening Night roster plans. Instead, fantasy players should expect Gagne to return to AHL Colorado before the NHL season starts.

Ronnie Attard D | COL
Avalanche's Ronnie Attard: Called up from minors
Attard was recalled from AHL Colorado on Tuesday.
Attard is back up on the roster after being waived by the team Sunday, and he could be in action either Tuesday or Wednesday against the Golden Knights. Despite his promotion, it seems likely the 26-year-old blueliner won't be a part of the Avs' Opening Night plans and will start the year in the minors with AHL Colorado.

Jake Walman D | EDM
Oilers' Jake Walman: Should be ready for regular season
Head coach Kris Knoblauch stated Tuesday that Walman (undisclosed) is unlikely to play during the remainder of the preseason, but the defenseman is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, according to Tom Gazzola of Edmonton Sports Talk.
The Oilers are likely using the utmost caution with Walman, as there's no reason to potentially subject him to a setback in exhibition play. Provided that he's ready for the season opener against the Flames on Oct. 8, Walman will fill a top-four role while receiving work with the No. 2 power-play unit in 2025-26.

Yan Kuznetsov D | CGY
Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Waived by team
Kuznetsov was placed on waivers by the Flames on Tuesday.
Kuznetsov played in one NHL game in which he saw 11:58 of ice time against Ottawa on Jan. 9, 2024. Last season, the 23-year-old blueliner was unable to break into the NHL roster, featuring exclusively for AHL Calgary while tallying six goals and 15 helpers in 72 regular-season contests. Assuming he clears waivers, Kuznetsov figures to spend the bulk of the upcoming campaign with the Wranglers but should be able to earn a call-up or two along the way.

Alex Vlasic D | CHI
Blackhawks' Alex Vlasic: Could be ready for Opening Night
According to Tracey Myers of NHL.com on Tuesday, Vlasic (lower body) is unlikely to play again in the preseason, but Chicago is hopeful he will be ready for Opening Night against Florida on Oct. 7.
Vlasic is day-to-day after being cut by a skate in Sunday's exhibition matchup versus Minnesota. He generated four goals, 30 points, 103 shots on net, 157 blocked shots and 59 hits across 82 games during the 2024-25 regular season.

Simon Edvinsson D | DET
Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson: Cleared for contact
Edvinsson (lower body) has been cleared for contact but won't play against the Blackhawks on Tuesday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Edvinsson is expected to play in at least one of the Red Wings' final two preseason games. Once the blueliner gets back on the ice, he should be good to go for Opening Night against the Canadiens on Oct. 9. Last year, the 22-year-old defenseman notched seven goals and 24 helpers in 78 regular-season games, numbers he should be fully capable of reaching in 2025-26.

Olli Maatta D | CGY
Mammoth's Olli Maatta: Available to return
Maatta (undisclosed) was a full participant in Monday's practice, according to Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports.
While Maatta won't be in the lineup for Tuesday's preseason game against the Kings, he will be an option to play before the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign. He accounted for two goals, 16 assists, 70 shots on net, 117 blocked shots and 22 hits across 70 regular-season games in 2024-25.

Connor Mackey D | NYR
Rangers' Connor Mackey: Set to hit waivers
Mackey will be placed on waivers Tuesday with the intention of being assigned to AHL Hartford, according to Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic.
Mackey appeared in two games with the Rangers in 2024-25, notching five PIM. Assuming he goes unclaimed on the waiver wire, Mackey will link back up with the Wolf Pack, with whom he accounted for six goals, 24 points and 102 PIM over 66 outings last season.

Kaiden Guhle D | MON
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Shelved versus Sens
Guhle (groin) will be sidelined for Tuesday's preseason clash with Ottawa, Stu Cowan of The Montreal Gazette reports.
Guhle was limited to just 55 regular-season games last year due to injury, but he still nearly hit the 20-point threshold (six goals and 12 assists). While he doesn't have a role with the man advantage, the 23-year-old blueliner could put up 25-30 points if he can avoid any more extended injury absences.
