Jets' Dylan DeMelo: Dishes pair of assists
DeMelo logged two assists, two hits, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 2.
DeMelo earned his first multi-point effort since Jan. 24 versus Utah. The 32-year-old blueliner helped out on tallies by Adam Lowry and Nikolaj Ehlers. DeMelo continues to operate in a top-four role as a shutdown defenseman. He's earned a goal, three assists, 10 shots on net, 16 hits, 10 blocked shots, eight PIM and an even plus-minus rating over eight playoff outings.

Logan Stanley D | BUF
Jets' Logan Stanley: Remains out Friday
Stanley (undisclosed) won't play versus the Stars in Game 2 on Friday.
Stanley has returned to the ice for practice but is not yet cleared to play. He's set to miss a third straight game due to the injury. It's unclear if he'll be ready to go for Sunday's Game 3 in Dallas -- if not, Haydn Fleury is likely to stay in the lineup.

Josh Morrissey D | WPG
Jets' Josh Morrissey: Set to play in Game 2
Morrissey (upper body) is set to return to the lineup for Friday's Game 2 versus the Stars, Murat Ates of The Athletic reports.
Morrissey missed nearly two whole games after getting hurt early in Game 7 of the first round versus the Blues. The 30-year-old will resume his top-pairing role and retake his place on the first power-play unit. The Jets are working from behind after dropping Game 1 to the Stars by a 3-2 score Wednesday, but getting Morrissey back should help them in all zones.

Miro Heiskanen D | DAL
Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Not playing Friday
Heiskanen (knee) has been ruled out of Game 2 in Winnipeg on Friday, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports.
Heiskanen has been out of action since Jan. 28 when he suffered a knee injury. The left-shot blueliner will miss his 40th straight game Friday. He has been practicing with the Stars and could return as early as Sunday's Game 3 on home ice. Heiskanen had five goals and 20 assists across 50 regular-season games in 2024-25.

K'Andre Miller D | CAR
Rangers' K'Andre Miller: Goes under the knife
Miller reportedly had surgery to repair an upper-body injury but will be ready for the start of the 2025-26 campaign, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports Friday.
As a restricted free agent, Miller will need a new contract this year before he can return to the lineup -- in addition to recovering from his upper-body injury. Based on the report, it sounds like Miller may not be 100 percent during training camp but should be available for Opening Night of the 2025-26 campaign.

Noah Hanifin D | LV
Golden Knights' Noah Hanifin: Plucks apple in Game 2 loss
Hanifin notched an assist, four shots on goal, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Oilers in Game 2.
Hanifin ended a four-game slump with the helper on Alex Pietrangelo's game-tying tally in the third period. Over eight playoff outings, Hanifin has a goal, three assists, 21 shots on net, 16 blocked shots, 13 hits and a minus-2 rating. He's playing in a top-four role and should continue to see heavy defensive minutes throughout the second round as he tries to neutralize the Oilers' offense.

Alex Pietrangelo D | LV
Golden Knights' Alex Pietrangelo: Two points in return
Pietrangelo scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, blocked two shots and went minus-2 in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Oilers in Game 2.
Pietrangelo's third-period tally forced overtime, but the Golden Knights weren't able to complete the comeback. He missed the opening game of the second round due to an illness, but he's apparently fine now after logging 25:38 of ice time Thursday. The defenseman has five points, 11 shots on net, six hits, 17 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over seven playoff outings.
-
John Klingberg D | SJ
Oilers' John Klingberg: Logs helper in Game 2 win
Klingberg provided an assist, two shots on goal, two hits and three blocked shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 2.
Klingberg has handled top-four minutes this postseason, and he's doing alright with them. The veteran defenseman has three assists, 13 shots on net, eight hits, 15 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through seven playoff contests. Klingberg probably won't be a leader in any area defensively, but he's doing enough to stay in the lineup.

Jake Walman D | EDM
Oilers' Jake Walman: Finds twine in Game 2 win
Walman scored a goal, went plus-2 and blocked five shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 2.
Walman tied the game at 1-1 in the second period. This was the defenseman's second point in eight playoff outings. While he hasn't been a big scorer, he's been sound in his own zone, posting a plus-11 rating and 23 blocked shots. Walman's defensive usage has helped cover the absence of Mattias Ekholm (undisclosed), who won't play in the second round.

Darnell Nurse D | EDM
Oilers' Darnell Nurse: Tallies in Thursday's win
Nurse scored a goal on five shots and blocked three shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 2.
Nurse stretched the Oilers' lead to 3-1 late in the second period. The defenseman has been a little quiet on offense this postseason, earning two goals and an assist over eight appearances. He's added 20 hits, 22 blocked shots, 22 shots on net, four PIM and an even plus-minus rating. Nurse continues to see steady top-four minutes and will bring plenty of physicality in that significant role.
