  • Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Out for Game 7

Heiskanen (knee) will not play in Saturday's Game 7 versus the Avalanche, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The Stars will face elimination Saturday minus their best defenseman in Heiskanen as well as top winger Jason Robertson (knee), who was also ruled out in head coach Pete DeBoer's update Friday. Heiskanen will miss his 39th straight contest, and he'll only get back into action this campaign if the Stars are able to advance to the second round.

  • Alec Regula D | EDM

Oilers' Alec Regula: Inks one-year deal

Regula (knee) agreed to terms on a two-year, two-way contract with the Oilers on Friday.

Regular missed the entire 2024-25 campaign while recovering from a long-term knee injury, but evidently still showed Edmonton enough to warrant a two-year contract. Looking ahead to next season, Regula will likely start the year in the minors but could eventually get called up to make his first NHL appearance since 2022-23 when he was with the Blackhawks.

  • Tyler Tucker D | STL

Blues' Tyler Tucker: Still not skating

Tucker (lower body) did not skate ahead of Game 6 against the Jets on Friday and figures to remain on the shelf.

Tucker will be on the shelf for his second consecutive contest due to his lingering lower-body injury. Even when healthy, the blueliner is far from a lock to play and may have to watch from the press box as a healthy scratch.

  • Scott Morrow D | NYR

Hurricanes' Scott Morrow: Promoted from AHL

Morrow was recalled from AHL Chicago on Friday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Morrow appeared in 14 regular-season games with the Hurricanes in 2024-25, scoring once and adding five assists. The defenseman had 13 goals and 26 assists in 52 AHL regular-season contests before his recall.

  • Golden Knights' Shea Theodore: Two-point effort Thursday

Theodore scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist Thursday in the Golden Knights' 3-2 win over the Wild in Game 6 of their first-round series.

The veteran blueliner opened the scoring early in the first period, snapping a shot past Filip Gustavsson through heavy traffic. Theodore racked up two goals and four points in the series, with both tallies and one of the helpers coming on the power play, and he should remain a key part of Vegas' attack in the second round against the Oilers.

  • Kings' Drew Doughty: Sends helper in loss

Doughty logged an assist, four hits and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.

Doughty put up four points, 10 shots on net, 12 hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over six playoff appearances. The 35-year-old defenseman's 2024-25 campaign was derailed by a broken ankle sustained in the preseason, which limited him to a total of 36 appearances between the regular season and playoffs. He was never really 100 percent this season and still did better than a point every other game, so an offseason of rest and recovery should benefit Doughty heading into 2025-26.

  • Kings' Jordan Spence: Nets goal in loss

Spence scored a goal, added two hits and blocked three shots in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.

Spence's goal late in the second period got the Kings within two, but they didn't pull even. The tally was his first point over five playoff contests, to go with just two shots on net, three hits, five blocked shots and a minus-1 rating. The 24-year-old Spence will be in a contract year in 2025-26, and he could challenge the 30-point mark after putting up 28 points in 79 regular-season games in 2024-25.

  • Kings' Brandt Clarke: Scores in Game 6 loss

Clarke scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.

Clarke saw third-pairing minutes during the playoffs, greatly limiting his effectiveness on offense. He had two goals, six shots on net, four hits, six blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over six postseason contests. Clarke will be in the final season of his entry-level contract in 2025-26, and he'll be looking to build upon his breakout 33-point campaign from 78 regular-season outings this year.

  • Brett Kulak D | COL

Oilers' Brett Kulak: Manages helper in win

Kulak provided an assist, two hits and five blocked shots in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Kings in Game 6.

Kulak continues to play an important defensive role for the Oilers, functioning as a top-four defenseman despite being listed on the third pairing. The 31-year-old had two assists, a plus-5 rating, eight shots on net, six hits and 12 blocked shots over six postseason contests in the first round.

  • Oilers' Darnell Nurse: Pair of points in win

Nurse scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Kings in Game 6.

Nurse picked a good time to end a seven-game slump on offense, doing so in a series-clinching win. During the playoffs, the defenseman has racked up 16 shots on net, 17 hits, 16 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over six appearances. Despite Nurse's lack of offense, he remains in a top-four role, and he'll likely stay there throughout the postseason.
