  • Sharks' Lucas Carlsson: Waived Wednesday

Carlsson was placed on waivers Wednesday, per PuckPedia.

Carlsson has been with the Sharks since March 21, suiting up in 12 straight games. Presumably, he'll also be in the lineup Wednesday versus the Oilers for the Sharks' season finale. Should he clear waivers, he'll head to AHL San Jose to help the Barracuda's playoff run.

  • Devils' Johnny Kovacevic: Ruled out against Detroit

Kovacevic has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Red Wings for rest purposes, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Kovacevic appeared in each of the Devils' first 81 games of the year, recording a goal, 16 assists, 102 hits, 99 blocked shots and 72 PIM while averaging 19:49 of ice time. He'll get a night off to close out the regular season, but he should be back on the ice when New Jersey begins postseason play.

  • Brett Pesce D | NJ

Devils' Brett Pesce: Set to rest Wednesday

Pesce (rest) won't be in the lineup for Wednesday's regular-season finale against Detroit, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports Wednesday.

Pesce will conclude the regular season with three goals, 17 points, 29 PIM, 24 hits and 138 blocks in 72 appearances. He should be back for Game 1 of the Devils' first-round series, which will be against his former team, the Hurricanes.

  • Luke Hughes D | NJ

Devils' Luke Hughes: Won't play vs. Detroit

Hughes (rest) won't play in Wednesday's regular-season finale versus Detroit, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.

Hughes will presumably return to the lineup for Game 1 of New Jersey's first-round series against Carolina. He'll finish the regular season of his sophomore campaign with seven goals and 44 points in 71 outings. That's close to his 47-point showing in 2023-24 despite playing in fewer games -- he logged 82 in 2023-24 -- and seeing a major drop in power-play ice time -- he averaged 1:38 this season compared to 3:27 as a rookie.

  • Devils' Dougie Hamilton: Ready to return

Hamilton (lower body) will return to the Devils' lineup Wednesday versus Detroit, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.

This will give Hamilton a chance to shake off the rust ahead of the Devils' first-round series against Carolina. Hamilton was last in the lineup March 4 against Dallas. He has nine goals, 40 points, 74 hits and 81 blocks over 63 appearances in 2024-25. The 31-year-old is likely to serve in a top-four capacity and feature on the first power-play unit in his return.

  • Kraken's Ville Ottavainen: Returns to AHL

Ottavainen was reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley on Wednesday.

Ottavainen made his NHL debut Tuesday, registering an assist in 14:24 of ice time during a 6-5 overtime loss to Los Angeles. Seattle's season is over, so he'll go back to helping Coachella Valley -- he has three goals, 15 points and 41 PIM over 66 outings with the minor-league club.

  • Senators' Thomas Chabot: Tallies on power play

Chabot scored a power-play goal on four shots, added two hits and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.

Chabot played on the first unit Tuesday since Jake Sanderson (rest) was out of the lineup. In the playoffs, look for Chabot to feature on the second power-play unit while also playing a large role at even strength. He's generated nine goals, 45 points, 178 shots on net, 145 blocked shots, 58 hits and a plus-17 rating through 80 appearances this season.

  • Blackhawks' Artyom Levshunov: Joining minor-league club

Levshunov was reassigned to AHL Rockford on Wednesday, Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio reports.

Levshunov saw action in 18 games for the Blackhawks this year, generating six assists, 21 shots and 19 hits -- though he failed to find the back of the net. Barring a disappointing training camp this fall, the 19-year-old Belarus native should be in contention for a spot on the Opening Night roster heading into the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Blackhawks' Kevin Korchinski: Sent to minors

Korchinski was reassigned to AHL Rockford on Wednesday, per Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio.

Korchinski had a goal and an assist across 16 outings with the Blackhawks in 2024-25. Chicago's season is over, so that's why Korchinski has returned to Rockford, where he has three goals and 27 points across 54 appearances this year.

  • Troy Stecher D | TOR

    Oilers' Troy Stecher: Unavailable Wednesday

Stecher (undisclosed) isn't expected to play Wednesday in San Jose, per Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels.

Stecher will finish the regular season with three goals, seven points, 27 PIM, 35 hits and 66 blocks in 66 appearances. Since Stecher, Mattias Ekholm (undisclosed), John Klingberg (lower body), Darnell Nurse (suspension) and Jake Walman (undisclosed) are all unavailable, Edmonton will dress just five defensemen against the Sharks.
