  • Red Wings' Moritz Seider: Tallies on power play in loss

Seider scored a power-play goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Capitals.

Seider ended an eight-game goal drought, though he managed three assists in that span. Four of his last five points have come with the man advantage, which remains a strength for the Red Wings as a whole -- they're converting at 28.7 percent, which is second to only the Jets (32.2 percent) this season. Seider has earned 19 of his 37 points on the power play. He has added 126 shots on net, 172 hits, 141 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 63 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Oilers' John Klingberg: Remains out Saturday

Klingberg (undisclosed) will not be an option for Saturday's tilt against the Stars, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.

Klingberg will miss his second straight game. The right-shot defenseman has produced a goal and three assists over 10 outings this season. Troy Stecher will remain in the lineup on the third pairing next to Jake Walman, who will make his Edmonton debut. Klingberg's next chance to return to the lineup will be Monday in Buffalo.

  • John Carlson D | ANA

Capitals' John Carlson: Pockets helper Friday

Carlson registered an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 5-2 win over the Red Wings.

Carlson was held off the scoresheet in four straight contests after a stretch of 10 assists over nine games from Jan. 28 to Feb. 25. He snapped that slump when he assisted on Aliaksei Protas's tally at 5:17 of the third period. Carlson reached the 40-point mark on the play (four goals, 36 helpers), a level he has reached in eight of his 16 NHL campaigns. He has added 132 shots on net, 102 blocked shots, 41 hits and a plus-19 rating over 63 appearances in 2024-25. A consistent end to the campaign could see him get to the 50-point mark for the sixth time in eight years.

  • Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Out of action Saturday

Ekholm (undisclosed) will sit out Saturday's tilt versus Dallas, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.

Ekholm will miss his second straight game. The 34-year-old veteran defenseman has eight goals, 19 assists and 134 shots on goal over 60 appearances this season. Look for Jake Walman to enter the lineup for the first time since his trade from San Jose on Thursday.

  • Capitals' Rasmus Sandin: Picks up helper in win

Sandin logged an assist, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 5-2 win over the Red Wings.

Sandin has a helper in two of the last three contests. He's been in a top-four role for much of the season, but he's been less of a factor on offense than John Carlson or Jakob Chychrun. Sandin has 23 points, matching his 68-game output from the 2023-24 regular season, and he's added 63 shots on net, 73 hits, 93 blocked shots and a plus-18 rating over 63 appearances this campaign.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Nets goal in Friday's win

Chychrun scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Red Wings.

Chychrun came out of the 4 Nations Face-Off break with four points over two games, but his offense took a nosedive with a five-game drought after that. He put the slump to rest with a goal Friday, which ended up being the game-winner for the Capitals in their comeback effort. With the tally, he's matched his career high in goals at 18 and reached the 40-point mark for the third time, including two straight seasons. The defenseman has added 136 shots on net, 74 blocked shots, 36 PIM and a plus-22 rating in 58 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Sabres' Jacob Bernard-Docker: Yet to join team

Bernard-Docker (not injury related) will not be available for Saturday's road matchup versus the Panthers, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.

Due to visa issues, Bernard-Docker has yet to link up with the Sabres after being acquired in a trade from the Senators on Friday. He hasn't suited up since Dec. 28, but once he's eligible to play, he could challenge Connor Clifton for playing time on the third pairing. Bernard-Docker's upside is limited -- he contributed just one goal and four points over 25 games with Ottawa earlier in the campaign.

  • Senators' Thomas Chabot: In Saturday's lineup

Chabot (illness) will be available for Saturday's home game against the Rangers, per TSN 1200 Ottawa.

Chabot was unable to finish Wednesday's game versus Chicago, but his ailment appears to have been a minor one. The left-shot blueliner will slot back in on the second pairing alongside Nick Jensen. Chabot has provided five goals, 30 points and a plus-13 rating across 60 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Tyler Kleven D | OTT

Senators' Tyler Kleven: Back in action Saturday

Kleven (lower body) will return to the lineup versus the Rangers on Saturday, according to Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

Kleven sat out three games. The 23-year-old defenseman has two goals, two assists, 23 PIM, 70 hits and 76 blocked shots in 58 appearances this season.

  • Hurricanes' Riley Stillman: Quickly recalled

Stillman was called up from AHL Chicago on Saturday, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.

Stillman was sent down Friday after clearing waivers. He was injured Thursday on his opening shift against the Bruins and did not return, but is well enough to play Sunday versus the Jets. Stillman could play versus Winnipeg if Dmitry Orlov (undisclosed) is unavailable.
