  • Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Not playing Thursday

Ekholm (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup versus Montreal on Thursday, according to Bob Stauffer of the Oilers Radio Network.

Ekholm has eight goals, 19 assists and 86 blocked shots across 60 games with the Oilers this season. He should be considered day-to-day at this time. The Oilers recalled defenseman Cam Dineen on an emergency basis Wednesday and he will enter the lineup against the Canadiens.

  • Maple Leafs' Philippe Myers: Top-pair minutes in loss

Myers logged 17:16 of ice time in which he blocked one shot and was minus-1 in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

In the last few games, Myers has found his way back to a top-pair role on the right side of Morgan Rielly to mixed results - two games as a plus player and two as a minus player. The offensive production hasn't come yet, but the 28-year-old Myers could warrant consideration in deeper formats. Fantasy managers doing so will want to keep a close eye on Toronto's activity ahead of Friday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, as it is a candidate to trade for a defenseman that would carve into Myers' role.

  • Jacob Trouba D | ANA

Ducks' Jacob Trouba: Blocked shots machine

Trouba blocked six shots in 22:31 of ice time and took three penalties in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Canucks.

Trouba has played an important role for a Ducks team that all of a sudden finds themselves on the outskirts of the playoff picture. In a top-4 role on the right side of young stud Pavel Mintyukov, he's offered stability and bite to the defense corps and is a plus-2 through 36 games with his new team. The former Ranger is certainly capable of filling up the stat sheet, his six blocks Wednesday are proof of that, but the offensive limitations (no goals and six points with the Ducks) hinders his fantasy value.

  • Kings' Brandt Clarke: Ice time keeps going down

Clarke blocked one shot in just 12:00 of ice time in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Blues.

After a really promising start to the season where Clarke had 23 points through 36 games, he's gone in the wrong direction since then, recording just three points in his last 20. The 2021 first-round pick's role and ice time has taken a downturn with it, peaking at a 19:10 average in November, but a downtick in performance and the return of Drew Doughty from an early-season ankle injury has caused a month-to-month decline, down to just 12:00 of average ice time in February. Now on the third pair and second power-play unit, the 22-year-old has faded from fantasy relevance.

  • Flames' Ilya Solovyov: Reassigned to AHL

Solovyov was loaned to AHL Calgary on Thursday.

Solovyov played five games at the NHL level before his demotion, picking up one assist. The defenseman had six goals and 15 assists in 43 AHL games before his recall.

  • Devils' Brian Dumoulin: Headed back to Metro

Dumoulin was traded to New Jersey from Anaheim on Thursday in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick and Herman Traff, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

Dumoulin will be back in the Metropolitan Division after two seasons on the West Coast with the Kraken and Ducks. In 61 games this year, the two-time Stanley Cup champion notched two goals and 14 helpers while adding 91 blocks and 60 hits. With Jonas Siegenthaler (lower body) on LTIR and Dougie Hamilton (lower body) getting hurt against Dallas on Tuesday, the Devils found themselves in need of some help on the blue line. Unless he signs an extension before July 1, Dumoulin will become an unrestricted free agent his offseason.

  • Cale Fleury D | SEA

Kraken's Cale Fleury: Elevated from minors

Fleury was promoted from AHL Coachella Valley on Thursday.

Unless there is an unknown injury on the blue line, Fleury is unlikely to get in the lineup versus the Predators on Thursday, instead serving as an emergency depth option during the Kraken's three-game road trip. In his seven NHL appearances this year, the 26-year-old blueliner has notched one helper, 11 hits and seven shots while averaging 12:20 of ice time.

  • Jets' Dylan Samberg: Links up with team

Samberg (personal) rejoined the Jets ahead of a clash with the Flyers on Thursday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.

Samberg was unavailable for the first game of Winnipeg's four-game road trip due to family reasons but should now be in contention to reclaim a spot in the lineup for Thursday's tilt. The defenseman is currently stuck in a five-game pointless streak during which he generated seven shots, 10 blocks and six hits. If he does play Thursday, it will likely come at the expense of Haydn Fleury.

  • Senators' Jake Sanderson: Two points in Wednesday's win

Sanderson notched two assists in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over Chicago.

The blueliner had a hand in tallies by Brady Tkachuk in the first period and Josh Norris in the second, giving Sanderson his second straight multi-point effort. He's been a big factor in the Senators' hunt for a playoff spot, and over the last 13 games, Sanderson has erupted for four goals and 17 points.

  • Capitals' Alexander Alexeyev: Returns from conditioning loan

Alexeyev was recalled from his conditioning assignment with AHL Hershey on Thursday.

Alexeyev saw action in three minor-league games with the Bears, generating two helpers and a plus-5 rating. Even with his return to the NHL squad, minutes are going to be hard to come by for the 25-year-old blueliner barring an injury on the blue line. His last NHL appearance was Nov. 8 versus the Penguins, a game in which he logged just 12:43 of ice time.
