Sabres' Bowen Byram: Provides power-play assist
Byram notched a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Penguins.
Byram ended a five-game point drought when he helped out on Owen Power's first-period tally. For the season, Byram has five goals, 18 helpers, 55 shots on net, 68 blocked shots, 46 hits and a plus-4 rating over 45 appearances. He continues to play alongside Rasmus Dahlin on the top pairing.

Owen Power D | BUF
Sabres' Owen Power: Nets first career power-play goal
Power scored a power-play goal on two shots and went minus-2 in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Penguins.
This was Power's first career power-play goal and his first point with the man advantage this season. Despite his lack of special-teams production, he's pushing to reach the 40-point mark for the first time in his career. He's matched his career high with six goals while adding 17 assists, 79 shots on net, 69 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating through 45 appearances this season.

Matt Grzelcyk D | CHI
Penguins' Matt Grzelcyk: Contributes two power-play assists
Grzelcyk notched two power-play assists and three blocked shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.
Grzelcyk had been held off the scoresheet in his previous four games. That cold spell followed a stretch in which he racked up 10 points over 12 outings. The 31-year-old blueliner is up to one goal, 23 helpers, 10 power-play points, 55 shots on net, 64 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating through 47 appearances. As long as he continues to be involved on the power play, he should have decent fantasy value. He's three points away from setting a new career high.

Kris Letang D | PIT
Penguins' Kris Letang: Not playing Friday
Letang (illness) is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Sabres.
Letang dealt with a lower-body injury in late December and early January, but the Penguins later revealed he is under the weather rather than hurt. Owen Pickering and Ryan Graves will both be in the lineup, while Letang is likely questionable to play Saturday versus the Capitals.

Colton White D | NJ
Devils' Colton White: Recalled by New Jersey
White was recalled from AHL Utica on Friday.
White hasn't yet made his season debut for the Devils this season, but he'll rejoin the NHL club after Erik Haula (ankle) was placed on injured reserve. Over 26 appearances with Utica this year, White has recorded a goal, 10 assists, 27 PIM and a plus-2 rating.

Nick Blankenburg D | COL
Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Grabs helper in shootout win
Blankenburg notched an assist in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over the Blackhawks.
Blankenburg ended a four-game point drought when he set up Filip Forsberg's game-tying goal late in the third period. The 26-year-old Blankenburg has done well to secure his spot in the lineup for Nashville, often playing on the second pairing in recent weeks. He has just five points through 22 outings, though he's added 35 shots on net, 23 hits, 24 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating to provide decent numbers in non-scoring areas.

Blues' Justin Faulk: Offers assist Thursday
Faulk logged a power-play assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over Calgary.

The 32-year-old defenseman is gaining some consistency on offense while continuing to see top-four minutes. Overall, Faulk has 17 points, 70 shots on net, 60 blocked shots, 49 hits and a minus-9 rating over 42 appearances.

Parayko scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-1 win over Calgary.
Parayko's goal at 13:53 of the first period ended up being the game-winner. This was his third consecutive appearance with a goal, and the defenseman has scored five times while adding five assists across his last 11 outings. For the season, Parayko has 10 tallies and 26 points in 46 contests, identically matching his offensive output from 82 games in 2023-24. He's added 89 shots on net, 69 hits and 110 blocked shots in 2024-25 to provide well-rounded production.

John Klingberg D | SJ
Oilers' John Klingberg: Joining Canadian club
Klingberg (hip) signed a one-year contract with the Oilers on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Klingberg has been out of action for over a year, with his most recent NHL game coming Nov. 11, 2023, against Vancouver. The 32-year-old blueliner will look to revive his NHL career after undergoing hip-resurfacing surgery. After eight years with Dallas, Klingberg bounced around recently, playing for Anaheim, Minnesota and Toronto -- and now Edmonton -- over his last three seasons. While Saturday's clash with Vancouver likely comes too soon, Klingberg could be in action before the end of January.

Cam York D | PHI
Flyers' Cam York: Finds twine Thursday
York scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM, went plus-2, logged three hits and blocked three shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Islanders.
York's third-period tally ended up being the game-winner. It was his first goal since Dec. 7, and he was limited to six assists over 17 outings between goals. The blueliner has 11 points, 36 shots on net, 62 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 32 appearances this season. York has maintained a top-four role in 2024-25 despite failing to take the next step forward on offense.
