Erik Karlsson D | PIT
Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Goal, assist in overtime loss
Karlsson scored a goal on two shots, dished an assist and blocked two shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Karlsson set up a Michael Bunting goal in the first period and tied the game at 3-3 with his own tally in the third. This was Karlsson's third multi-point effort over his last nine games, a span in which he's collected two goals and seven assists. For the season, the star defenseman has 28 points, 100 shots on net, 54 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 41 outings. Despite a dip in goal-scoring, he's on pace to exactly match his 56-point output from 2023-24.

Dmitry Orlov D | SJ
Hurricanes' Dmitry Orlov: Sets up game-winner
Orlov logged an assist, three shots on goal and two blocked shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Penguins.
Orlov set up Sebastian Aho's goal 1:30 into overtime. The 33-year-old Orlov has been a modest contributor of offense from the blue line lately, earning four points over his last 11 appearances. For the season, he has 18 points, 66 shots on net, 52 hits, 26 blocked shots and a plus-17 rating over 40 contests. Orlov's in a second-pairing role and chipping in decent scoring, so he can be useful in fantasy formats that reward his non-scoring efforts.

Will Borgen D | NYR
Rangers' Will Borgen: First point with New York
Borgen deposited a goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Blackhawks.
Borgen recorded his first point with the Rangers since being acquired in a trade from Seattle on Dec. 18. The right-shot blueliner's 22:18 of ice time Sunday was the most he has received this season, but that was most likely due to the lopsided score. On the season, Borgen has chipped in two goals and one assist across 41 games split between the Kraken and Rangers. The 28-year-old won't be much of a fantasy factor outside of deeper formats that reward non-scoring production.

Jalen Chatfield D | CAR
Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Gets on scoresheet with goal
Chatfield scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Penguins.
Chatfield ended an 11-game point drought with the game-tying goal in the second period. The 28-year-old defenseman continues to see top-four minutes, but he rarely makes a big impact on offense. For the season, he's at four goals, 10 points, 61 shots on net, 38 blocked shots, 31 hits and a plus-13 rating over 40 appearances.

Gustav Olofsson D | SEA
Kraken's Gustav Olofsson: Brought up Sunday
Olofsson was recalled from AHL Coachella Valley on an emergency basis Sunday.
Olofsson will likely serve as Seattle's seventh defenseman in the short term as a result of Adam Larsson contending with an upper-body injury. Olofsson has made just four appearances with the Kraken since the 2022-23 campaign. The 30-year-old has produced two goals and 11 points over 29 games with the Firebirds in 2024-25.
-
Cale Fleury D | SEA
Kraken's Cale Fleury: Recalled by Seattle
Fleury was recalled from AHL Coachella Valley on an emergency basis Sunday.
Fleury made two appearances for the Kraken earlier this year and was held pointless with four hits and three blocked shots while averaging 11:29 of ice time. The 26-year-old was sent down in early November but will rejoin the NHL club since Adam Larsson (upper body) is banged up and Yanni Gourde (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday.
-
Jake McCabe D | TOR
Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Injured against Philadelphia
McCabe (upper body) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game versus the Flyers.
McCabe logged seven PIM and one hit in 7:12 of ice time before exiting Sunday's contest. The left-shot blueliner appeared to have suffered an injury after fighting Philadelphia's Garnet Hathaway late in the first period. McCabe should be considered day-to-day ahead of Tuesday's rematch against the Flyers.
-
Kris Letang D | PIT
Penguins' Kris Letang: Removed from IR
Letang (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Sunday.
Pittsburgh moved Philip Tomasino (lower body) to the IR list in a corresponding move. Letang will return to the top pairing and first power-play unit versus Carolina on Sunday after missing the last three games. He has produced seven goals, 16 points, 84 shots on net, 43 blocked shots and 56 hits in 34 appearances this season. With Letang back, Ryan Graves will be a healthy scratch versus the Hurricanes.
-
Ian Cole D | UTA
Hockey Club's Ian Cole: Assists in consecutive contests
Cole logged an assist, three shots on goal, three hits and five blocked shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Stars.
Cole has a helper in back-to-back contests and four assists over his last six games. The 35-year-old defenseman may be worth considering in deeper fantasy formats due to his non-scoring production, but the offense is likely to fade eventually. For the season, he's at 12 points, 43 shots on net, 47 hits, 110 blocked shots, 41 PIM and a minus-1 rating through 39 appearances in a second-pairing role.

Nils Lundkvist D | DAL
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Records assist in overtime win
Lundkvist notched an assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over Utah.
Lundkvist ended a five-game slump when he helped out on Oskar Back's second-period tally. The 24-year-old Lundkvist continues to play a bottom-four role on the Stars' blue line, and he shouldn't be counted on for steady offense. This season, he's racked up four assists, 43 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating over 30 appearances, well behind the pace that saw him log a career-high 19 points in 59 outings in the 2023-24 regular season.
