  • Bruins' Charlie McAvoy: Hands out assist in win

McAvoy notched an assist, four hits, four blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Monday's 4-1 win over the Capitals.

McAvoy is on a five-game assist streak. The 27-year-old has struggled to be consistent on offense for much of the season, but this stretch is a reason to be optimistic about his performance moving forward. The defenseman is up to a total of 16 points, 65 hits, 58 blocked shots, 72 shots on goal and 38 PIM through 36 appearances.

  • Capitals' Rasmus Sandin: Bags apple Monday

Sandin registered a power-play assist while logging 19:32 of ice time during Monday's 4-1 loss to the Bruins.

Sandin's helper snapped a nine-game scoring drought dating to the beginning of December. The 24-year-old Swede is enjoying a fine season overall with four goals, 14 points and a plus-15 rating in 34 games, but Sandin doesn't generate offense with enough consistency to draw the attention of most fantasy managers.

  • Jacob Bryson D | WPG

Sabres' Jacob Bryson: Snags helper in win

Bryson notched an assist, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 7-1 win over the Islanders.

Bryson was in the lineup for a second straight game after being scratched in four of five contests from Dec. 11-20. The 27-year-old ended his 13-game point drought when he assisted on a Beck Malenstyn goal in the first period. Bryson looks to be in competition with Dennis Gilbert for the left side of the third pairing, but both could end up out of the lineup when Owen Power or Bowen Byram play on their natural side and Henri Jokiharju is in action, as the Sabres are carrying six lefties on defense.

  • Erik Cernak D | TB

Lightning's Erik Cernak: Provides helper in win

Cernak logged a shorthanded assist, three shots on goal, four hits and two PIM in Monday's 4-0 win over the Panthers.

Cernak set up Brandon Hagel's shorthanded empty-netter to close out the scoring in the third period. The helper was Cernak's second over seven outings in December -- he also missed two games due to a lower-body injury. The veteran defenseman has eight helpers, 23 shots on net, 70 hits, 40 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a plus-12 rating through 30 appearances. Injuries are often a concern since Cernak plays such a physically taxing style, but he's got an outside chance of matching his career high of 18 points from 2020-21 if he stays healthy.

  • Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Collects four helpers in victory

Dahlin registered four assists, one shot on goal and two blocked shots in Monday's 7-1 win over the Islanders.

Dahlin sat out Saturday's 3-1 loss to Boston after returning from a seven-game absence due to a back issue against Toronto on Friday. The Sabres didn't want him playing in both games of the back-to-back situation, and the additional rest appeared beneficial. Dahlin didn't have a point in five straight outings before breaking out in Monday's win, helping Buffalo end a woeful 13-game losing streak. He has six goals and 17 helpers through 27 appearances this season.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Carrier: Lands on scoresheet

Carrier had an assist, two shots on net, one block and one hit in Monday's 5-4 loss to Columbus.

Carrier won a puck battle along the boards with two members of the Blue Jackets that led to Joel Armia's go-ahead tally early in the third period. It was the second consecutive game with a point for the newest Canadien, who was acquired from Nashville a week ago. In three outings for Montreal, Carrier has two assists, five shots on goal, three hits, three blocks and a plus-1 rating.

  • Lightning's Victor Hedman: Two helpers against Cats

Hedman picked up two assists in Monday's 4-0 win over the Panthers.

Both helpers came in the first period, as the veteran blueliner had a hand in tallies by Nikita Kucherov and Jake Guentzel. Hedman's goal drought has reached 14 appearances, but he's been plenty productive over that stretch with 12 assists, including four on the power play.

  • Blues' Colton Parayko: Two-point effort Monday

Parayko notched two assists in Monday's 4-0 win over the Red Wings.

He had a hand in the final two goals of Dylan Holloway's hat trick. Parayko snapped a five-game point drought with the performance, and it was his first multi-point effort since Nov. 2. On the season, the veteran blueliner has five goals and 18 points in 36 appearances with 88 blocked shots, 67 shots on net, 51 hits and a minus-4 rating.

  • Egor Zamula D | CLB

Flyers' Egor Zamula: Ends drought Monday

Zamula scored a goal on two shots, doled out two hits and blocked three shots in Monday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.

Zamula's goal tied the game at 1-1 in the first period, though the Penguins would score three more times prior to the intermission. The tally ended Zamula's 10-game point drought, a span in which he went minus-5 and was scratched six times. The 24-year-old defenseman didn't feature on the power play Monday but is usually included on the second unit. Zamula has seven points, 17 shots on net, 39 blocked shots and a minus-13 rating over 25 appearances. Until his defense is steady enough to avoid drawing head coach John Tortorella's ire, the blueliner is a risky fantasy play.

  • Ryan Shea D | PIT

Penguins' Ryan Shea: Picks up power-play helper

Shea posted a power-play assist in Monday's 7-3 win over the Flyers.

Shea ended a seven-game point drought with his helper on a Blake Lizotte tally late in the contest. Don't expect Shea to be a factor with the man advantage moving forward, as Kris Letang, Erik Karlsson and Matt Grzelcyk have firm grips on power-play time. For the season, Shea has struggled with offense in generally, collecting two assists and seven shots on net as well as 24 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 17 appearances.
