  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Stellar in Saturday's victory

Vasilevskiy turned aside 39 of 40 shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over Detroit.

Vasilevskiy turned in one of his better performances of the season Saturday, as it was only the second instance in 2024-25 that he faced at least 40 shots. The 30-year-old has won back-to-back games and four of his last six. The Big Cat has stopped 212 of 230 shots while posting a 4-3-1 record through eight appearances in January. On the season, the Russian netminder is 20-13-2 with a .916 save percentage and a 2.35 GAA through 35 starts.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Falls to Kraken

Kuemper stopped 18 of 21 shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken.

Kuemper allowed more than one goal for the first time in six starts. The 34-year-old gave up two goals to Jaden Schwartz in the first period and allowed Chandler Stephenson to put home the decisive tally early in the second. The Kraken handed Kuemper his second regulation loss in his last 13 games. He's now at 13-4-5 with a 2.10 GAA and a .920 save percentage through 23 appearances this season. The Kings return home to face the Penguins on Monday.

  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Shines under pressure

Daccord stopped 28 of 30 shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Kings.

Daccord gave up both goals in the first period, but he didn't squander his third chance at a lead. He earned his paycheck in the third period, as it was one-way traffic directed toward his net until Jaden Schwartz was able to put home an empty-netter to end the Kings' push. Daccord has allowed 11 goals over his last five outings (four starts), winning three of them. The 28-year-old is up to 15-10-2 with a 2.43 GAA and a .916 save percentage through 29 appearances. He shared the crease with Philipp Grubauer briefly after returning from an upper-body injury, but it looks like the No. 1 job in Seattle is firmly in Daccord's hands now. The Kraken host the Sabres on Monday.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Yields four goals in loss

Binnington allowed four goals on 33 shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Utah.

Binnington was blitzed by Utah in the first period. He surrendered three goals in a span of 4:25, and that ended up being the difference in the contest. He's lost three of five outings in January, allowing 12 goals over those games. For the season, Binnington dropped to 12-17-3 with a 2.83 GAA and an .899 save percentage over 33 appearances. The Blues' next two games are against the Golden Knights, with the first of those being on the road Monday, so fantasy managers might want to avoid Binnington and Joel Hofer for the week ahead.

  • Panthers' Spencer Knight: Second shutout of season

Knight made 34 saves in a 3-0 win over the Ducks on Saturday. He also had an assist.

It was his second shutout of the season and fifth of his career. Knight's assist came on an empty-net goal moments after he almost scored an empty-netter himself. He's rung up three straight wins, and he has allowed just 12 goals in his last six starts (4-2-0) after surrendering 10 goals over two games to start December. Knight's game seems to be sharpening. Drop him into your paint if he's designated to start.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Ducks' John Gibson: Not sharp enough

Gibson made 42 saves in a 3-0 loss to the Panthers on Saturday. He allowed two goals.

Gibson was sharp all night, but his teammates couldn't solve Spencer Knight at the other end of the ice. He has lost three straight games, and since the end of November, Gibson is just 3-8-1 in 13 starts. He keeps his team in the game when he's in the paint, but like Saturday, they often struggle to score. The Ducks' minus-34 goal differential is fourth-worst in the NHL.

  • Stars' Casey DeSmith: Hit by Avalanche on Saturday

DeSmith made 30 saves Saturday in a 6-3 loss to Colorado.

DeSmith has surrendered nine goals in his last two starts, both losses, but before that, he had allowed just six goals in his previous four games, all wins. Dallas has hit a bit of a skid lately, but the team will rebound soon enough, which will put DeSmith back into a strong fantasy role for spot starts in daily.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Squanders three-goal lead

Montembeault allowed six goals on 33 shots in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.

Losing to a rival was an indignity, but the way in which Montreal and Montembeault lost it was next level. The goalie was handed a 3-0 lead after one period before letting it slip away in the final two frames. His goals-against average increased to 2.98 and save percentage dropped to .897. Montembeault's been streaky and inconsistent this season, and it will be interesting to see if rookie netminder Jakub Dobes, who's been killing it in net, grabs a bigger share of the starts going forward. Dobes is expected to start Sunday's home game against the Rangers.

  • Hockey Club's Connor Ingram: Holds off Blues

Ingram stopped 22 of 24 shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues.

Ingram has allowed four goals on 56 shots over two contests since he returned from an upper-body injury. Unlike in his last start, he got enough goal support for the win this time, improving to 7-5-3 on the season. Ingram has added a 3.38 GAA and an .879 save percentage over 15 appearances. Karel Vejmelka has started to struggle a bit in January after keeping Utah competitive in Ingram's absence. In any case, that opens the door for Ingram to push for a larger share of starts moving forward. Utah's next game is at home Monday versus the Jets.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Wins in first game back

Wedgewood made 26 saves in a 6-3 victory over the Stars on Saturday.

It was his first start since he sustained an ankle injury against Buffalo on Jan. 2. Getting Wedgewood back is a big boost for the Avs, as Mackenzie Blackwood played eight of nine games and would probably benefit from a break. Wedgewood's 2.44 GAA and .914 save percentage are already strong, and the net situation in Mile High is far more stable with Blackwood in town. Daily managers can count on solid numbers when Wedgewood is in the net.
