  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Hard-luck loss Saturday

Montembeault allowed one goal on 35 shots in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to Dallas.

Montembeault, who struggled over his last five starts with a 3.46 goals-against average and an .869 save percentage, was on point Saturday. He's been inconsistent this season but also streaky, and this strong performance could trigger a hot stretch. The Canadiens next play Tuesday in Utah.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Gives up five in loss

Luukkonen made 24 saves in a 6-2 loss to the Kraken on Saturday. He allowed five goals.

The Sabres fell apart after going up 2-0, and UPL had a rough night. He'd like to have a couple of those goals back. Luukkonen was coming off a 35-save shutout over Ottawa on Thursday, and he had won two straight. He's certainly talented, but playing behind the Sabres right now is an exercise in frustration for both him and fantasy managers.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Wins fifth straight

Oettinger stopped 30 of 31 shots in Saturday's 2-1 shootout win over Montreal.

Oettinger and Sam Montembeault engaged in an old-fashioned goalie duel at Bell Centre. The Stars' goalie was beaten by Patrik Laine in the second period while Montreal was up two skaters, but that was it. The win was the fifth straight for Oettinger, who improved to 21-9-1 with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage over 31 starts. Dallas next heads to Ottawa on Sunday for the second of a back-to-back set.

  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Wins first start since Dec. 22

Daccord made 33 saves in a 6-2 win over the Sabres on Saturday.

It was his first start since Dec. 22; he had missed five games before returning Thursday and playing in relief. Daccord is 13-9-2 with a 2.45 GAA and a .914 save percentage in 24 starts this season. Managers can breathe easy that he's back from injury and has been able to sustain his excellence from last season. Daccord is a solid fantasy play.

  • Kings' David Rittich: Facing former team Saturday

Rittich will protect the road goal versus Calgary on Saturday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site

Rittich will face the team that gave him his NHL debut back in 2016-17. The 32-year-old went 2-2-0 with 11 goals allowed on 95 shots over four games in December. Rittich will start because Darcy Kuemper played in Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Jets.

  • Juuse Saros G | NSH

Predators' Juuse Saros: In goal Saturday

Saros will protect the home goal versus the Capitals on Saturday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

The Capitals are on the second half of a back-to-back after losing 3-2 in overtime to the Canadiens on Friday. Saros has been in a bit of a rough patch lately, going 3-7-1 with a 3.05 GAA and an .889 save percentage over his last 11 games dating back to the start of December.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Tending twine Saturday

Montembeault will start at home versus the Stars on Saturday, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.

Montembeault will take the second half of a back-to-back after Jakub Dobes picked up an overtime win over the Capitals on Friday. The Stars have been rolling lately, winning six straight games with 25 goals scored in that span. Given the circumstances, Montembeault is not a particularly strong fantasy option despite having won three of his last four outings.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Ducks' John Gibson: Defending crease Saturday

Gibson will defend the road net versus Philadelphia on Saturday, per Derek Lee of The Hockey News.

Gibson has a 7-5-2 record with a 2.69 GAA and a .914 save percentage through 16 appearances this season. Philadelphia is tied for 18th in the league with 2.93 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Set to start Saturday

Vasilevskiy is expected to start on the road against the Devils on Saturday, per Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun.

Vasilevskiy has allowed two or fewer goals in five straight starts, going 3-2-0 with a 1.81 GAA and a .940 save percentage in that span. He's 18-12-1 with a 2.31 GAA and a .915 save percentage in 31 outings this season. The Devils sit 11th in goals per game with 3.16.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Superb in overtime victory

Swayman stopped 40 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win against Florida.

Swayman helped the Bruins earn two points in the standings despite being outshot by a 43-18 margin. He was superb while halting his five-game losing skid. Swayman improves to 14-15-3 with a 2.91 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 32 appearances.
