  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Makes relief appearance Thursday

Grubauer stopped nine of 11 shots in relief of Joey Daccord in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche.

Grubauer played the final two periods and gave up a goal in each one. He's now winless over his last four outings, giving up 13 goals on 100 shots in that span. Daccord hasn't exactly been a stud lately either, but he's done enough to push Grubauer into the backup role. Grubauer is 11-8-3 with a 2.54 GAA and a .912 save percentage over 25 appearances. Both goalies should get a look this weekend, as the Kraken visit the Canucks on Saturday before hosting the Panthers on Sunday.

  • Joseph Woll G | TOR

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Helps team to first win since break

Woll made 36 saves in a 6-4 win over the Ducks on Thursday.

It was Woll's first win since the Olympic break (1-4-0) and Toronto's, too -- they are 1-5-2 in that span. Things won't get easy any time soon. Captain Auston Matthews (knee) was knocked out of the game on a dirty hit by Radko Gudas, and his two-way skill will be sorely missed by his netminders.

  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Yanked after first period

Daccord stopped 12 of 15 shots in the first period of Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche.

Daccord made his third straight start but struggled once again. He's allowed 13 goals on 78 shots in those games, losing all three, but he's had the majority of the playing time over Philipp Grubauer lately. Daccord is now 18-16-5 with a 2.92 GAA and a .901 save percentage through 39 starts this season. He can be trusted in favorable matchups, so he may find success in this weekend's back-to-back as the Kraken visit the Canucks on Saturday before hosting the Panthers on Sunday. Daccord and Grubauer will likely split those games.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Cruises to win

Wedgewood stopped 28 of 29 shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Kraken.

Wedgewood picked up his fifth win in a row with this performance. In that span, he's allowed just six goals on 131 shots. The 33-year-old's lone misstep Thursday came on Ryker Evans' shorthanded tally in the second period, which was the product of a Colorado turnover. Wedgewood improved to 25-4-5 with a 2.16 GAA and a .918 save percentage over 36 appearances. The Avalanche visit the Jets on Saturday.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Takes overtime loss

Vejmelka stopped 20 of 23 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.

Vejmelka has allowed 12 goals on 84 shots over his last three outings, and he's given up at least three goals in five of seven contests since the Olympics. The 29-year-old is still seeing significant playing time, though Vitek Vanecek has had some recent success that could allow him to ease Vejmelka's workload. For the season, Vejmelka is 30-17-3 with a 2.69 GAA and an .897 save percentage over 51 starts. The Mammoth host the Penguins on Saturday.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Almost no help from teammates

Gibson made 24 saves in a 4-1 loss to the Lightning on Thursday. He allowed three goals.

Gibson did his part, but his mates faced arguably the best netminder in the league and a team bent on blocking shots. They couldn't buy goals. Gibson is 1-3-0 in his last four starts. It includes one shutout and nine goals allowed. Overall, the Wings have lost four of their last five games (1-3-1), but they remain in the first Wild Card spot with 79 points.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Earns overtime win

Knight stopped 29 of 31 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Mammoth.

Knight snapped a four-game skid with this performance, which was also his return from missing three contests due to an illness. The 24-year-old improved to 17-18-8 with a 2.61 GAA and a .909 save percentage through 43 appearances this season. Now that he's healthy, Knight is likely to handle a majority of the starts for the Blackhawks. They wrap up this brief road trip in Vegas on Saturday.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Entering Brodeur territory

Vasilevskiy made 24 saves Thursday in a 4-1 win over the Red Wings.

The win was his 30th this season. Vasilevskiy became the second goaltender in NHL history to record nine straight 30-win seasons. The first to do it was Martin Brodeur, who delivered 12 consecutive 30-win seasons from 1995-96 to 2007-08. Vasilevskiy has often been viewed as Brodeur's closest modern counterpart, but he has a long way to go to approach Brodeur's win totals and longevity.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Two losses in row

Bussi made 14 saves Thursday in a 3-1 loss to the Blues. He allowed two goals.

This was the first time this season that Bussi has lost consecutive starts. He lost to Calgary on Saturday. Overall, Bussi is 25-5-1 with a 2.37 GAA and .899 save percentage. He's a reliable netminder playing behind a strong defense, and he wins a lot. Bussi is going to help you in your postseason.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Calms Hurricanes with ease

Binnington made 31 saves in a 3-1 win over Carolina on Thursday.

Mark Jankowski was the only Carolina player to beat him. Binnington and Joel Hofer had been alternating starts until the lead-up to the trade deadline, when the Blues rolled Hofer to protect Binner from injury. He was strong Thursday, so we could be looking at return to the alternating state going forward. Since the start of March, Hofer has gotten four of the Blues' six starts (3-0-1). Binnington is 2-0-0 with just three goals allowed in the same span.
