Vitek Vanecek G | UTA
Mammoth's Vitek Vanecek: First off Tuesday
Vanecek was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports, indicating that he will defend the road net against Boston on Tuesday.
Vanecek has gone 0-5-1 while allowing 19 goals on 136 shots over his last six outings. He has stopped 180 of 205 shots en route to a 2-6-1 record in nine appearances this season. Boston sits eighth in the league with 3.24 goals per game this campaign.

Anton Forsberg G | LA
Kings' Anton Forsberg: Beaten three times Monday
Forsberg stopped 17 of 20 shots in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Stars. The fourth goal was an empty-netter with 32 seconds left in the third period.
Forsberg had to enter the game in the second period after Darcy Kuemper exited with an upper-body injury. If Kuemper is forced to miss additional time, Forsberg could see more playing time between the pipes. This wasn't his finest outing, though to be fair, he was facing one of the best teams in the Western Conference. Forsberg owns a 4-3-3 record with a 2.82 GAA and an .893 save percentage in 10 appearances this season.

Filip Gustavsson G | MIN
Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Patrolling crease against Caps
Gustavsson will defend the cage at home versus Washington on Tuesday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Gustavsson will be looking for his fourth straight victory after going 3-0-0 with a 1.67 GAA in his last three outings. While the 27-year-old netminder has been splitting the workload with Jesper Wallstedt since mid-November, he will be making his fourth appearance in the club's last five games.

Ilya Sorokin G | NYI
Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Tending twine Tuesday
Sorokin will patrol the crease on the road versus the Red Wings on Tuesday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
Sorokin enters Tuesday's tilt riding a five-game winning streak during which he is sporting a 1.94 GAA with one shutout. Something will have to give in Tuesday's matchup, as Detroit netminder John Gibson is working on a five-game run of wins of his own. Sorokin's 12 victories this year are two off the NHL-leading pace being set by Scott Wedgewood, Jake Oettinger, Karel Vejmelka and Sergei Bobrovsky.

Charlie Lindgren G | WAS
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Drawing start in Minnesota
Lindgren will tend the twine Tuesday in Minnesota, according to Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post.
Lindgren is set to make just his second start in December -- he missed three games due to an upper-body injury but returned to the lineup to back up Logan Thompson on Saturday in Winnipeg. The 31-year-old Lindgren owns a 5-3-1 record with one shutout, a 2.90 GAA and an .893 save percentage over 10 appearances in 2025-26. The Wild have won four consecutive games and now have Quinn Hughes in the fold, so this will be a formidable task for Lindgren.

Jeremy Swayman G | BOS
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Tending twine against Utah
Swayman will be between the home pipes against the Mammoth on Tuesday, per Joe Haggerty of Boston Sports Journal.
Swayman has stumbled a bit in December after playing at a high level in November, as he's 2-2-0 with a 3.75 GAA and an .873 save percentage over four games this month. For comparison, the 27-year-old goaltender went 8-2-0 with a .934 save percentage over 10 appearances in November. As for the Mammoth, they have scored exactly five goals in back-to-back victories, with Sunday's win over the Penguins being a comeback effort capped off by a Dylan Guenther snipe in overtime.
-
Jonas Johansson G | TB
Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Mauled by Panthers
Johansson turned aside 19 shots in Monday's 5-2 loss to Florida.
The Panthers scored four times before the Lightning were even able to get on the board on a Max Crozier tally in the final minute of the second period. The shaky outing for Johansson could be his last for a while, as Andrei Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) might be on the verge of rejoining the team after Brandon Halverson was bumped back to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday morning. In Johansson's seven straight starts since Vasilevskiy went down, he's gone 2-4-1 with a respectable 2.59 GAA and .899 save percentage.
-
Thatcher Demko G | VAN
Canucks' Thatcher Demko: First off at morning skate
Demko is set to protect the road crease Tuesday versus the Rangers, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.
Demko turned in arguably his best performance of the season Sunday in New Jersey, turning aside 25 of 26 shots in a 2-1 win. Vancouver will have the rest advantage Tuesday, as New York is coming off a 4-1 loss to Anaheim on Monday. Demko has been excellent against the Rangers during his career, registering a 3-1-0 record, .935 save percentage and 2.01 GAA over four appearances. He made 23 of 24 saves against them earlier this season in Vancouver, but the Canucks were blanked 2-0 in that matchup.
-
Brandon Halverson G | TB
Lightning's Brandon Halverson: Shipped back to minors
Halverson was returned to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday.
Halverson's demotion could be an indication that Andrei Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) will be ready to at least serve as the backup against the Kings on Thursday, though the Crunch are in action versus AHL Bridgeport on Wednesday, so Halverson could feature in that contest and then be recalled back to Tampa Bay.

Joseph Woll G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: In goal Tuesday
Woll (lower body) will start at home against the Blackhawks on Tuesday, according to Joshua Kloke of The Athletic.
Woll will make his first start since Dec. 4 in Raleigh after missing four consecutive games because of his injury. The 27-year-old is still officially on injured reserve, per the NHL media site, but that tag should be lifted in short order. Prior to getting hurt, Woll had won back-to-back outings, posting a phenomenal 1.20 GAA and a .960 save percentage across that span. The Blackhawks, who sit 24th in the NHL with 2.84 goals per game this season, will be without Connor Bedard (upper body) on Tuesday, so this could be a favorable matchup for Woll.
