  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Makes brief appearance

Lankinen stopped the lone shot he faced in 2:11 of ice time in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Ducks.

Lankinen started the second period as Nikita Tolopilo had to be cleared by the concussion spotter following some head contact late in the first. The 30-year-old Lankinen has lost his last three starts, allowing 11 goals on 55 shots in that span. With Tolopilo showing improved play recently, it's possible the Canucks' crease could become a timeshare. Neither goalie is a great option in fantasy at this time, as they're backstopping a team that has struggled to pick up wins all season.

  • Canucks' Nikita Tolopilo: Perfect, but no shutout

Tolopilo stopped all 32 shots he faced in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Ducks.

Tolopilo was denied a shutout because his evaluation by the concussion spotter during the first intermission prevented him from taking the ice to start the second. Kevin Lankinen handled 2:11 of ice time and made one save. Few fantasy managers would have turned to Tolopilo in most circumstances, but those who did will feel hard done by with this situation. The good news is Tolopilo was able to finish the contest and has allowed just two goals on 59 shots over his last two outings. He's 3-3-0 through eight appearances and will compete with Lankinen for playing time for the remainder of the campaign. Wins will be hard to find, as the Canucks are currently at the bottom of the league standings.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Loses close game

Dostal stopped 24 of 25 shots in Thursday's 2-0 loss to the Canucks. The second goal was an empty-netter.

That's a tough way to see a six-game winning streak snapped. Dostal put in a fine performance, keeping the Canucks off the board for 50 minutes before Drew O'Connor's icebreaker in the middle of the third period. The loss dropped Dostal to 19-13-2 with a 2.95 GAA and an .896 save percentage over 36 outings this season. The Ducks are back in action at home Sunday versus the Golden Knights. Dostal is slated to represent Czechia at the Olympics, so it's unclear what his workload will look like over the Ducks' last two games before the tournament.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Tough start in Seattle

Stolarz stopped 17 of 21 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Kraken. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Stolarz has allowed nine goals on 51 shots over a pair of losses since he returned from an upper-body injury that cost him more than two months. The 32-year-old netminder hasn't been able to stabilize the crease for the Maple Leafs, who have now lost six straight contests. He's at a 6-7-1 record with a 3.67 GAA and an .876 save percentage over 15 starts this season. Stolarz and Joseph Woll will compete for playing time until one goalie can get hot and run with the starting job. The Maple Leafs have a favorable matchup ahead Saturday when they visit the Canucks.

  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Holds off Toronto

Daccord stopped 29 of 31 shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Maple Leafs.

Daccord earned his second win in a row. The 29-year-old has been losing time to Philipp Grubauer in January, but Daccord's recent improvement could help him get back to a 50-50 split of playing time. For the season, Daccord has a 14-12-5 record with a 2.86 GAA and a .902 save percentage over 31 starts. The Kraken set out on a three-game road trip next, beginning Saturday in Vegas. With a back-to-back after that (Tuesday in Anaheim, Wednesday in Los Angeles), Daccord should get at least one start before the break.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Rough night in blue paint

Wedgewood made 21 saves Thursday in a 7-3 loss to Montreal.

Wedgewood was hard on himself after the game. "It's a goalie loss," he told reporters. Wedgewood is 20-4-5 with a 2.30 GAA and .912 save percentage in 31 starts this season, but January has been tough on him. He is 3-3-1 with 20 goals allowed and a .888 save percentage in seven starts this month.

  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Lets lead slip away

Askarov allowed four goals on 32 shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers.

Askarov was spotted a 3-0 lead in the first period, but things unraveled for the netminder in the third. The Oilers tied the game, scoring twice with an extra attacker in the last 3:05 of regulation before Zach Hyman completed Edmonton's comeback at 1:06 of overtime. Askarov has had a few rough outings in recent weeks, but this was a tough way to lose, especially since he was making consecutive starts for the first time since a run of six straight games between Dec. 20 and Jan. 3. The 23-year-old netminder is now 17-13-2 with a 3.47 GAA and an .889 save percentage over 33 starts. It wouldn't be surprising to see Alex Nedeljkovic get the nod Saturday in Calgary.

  • Jakub Dobes G | MON

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Fifth straight win

Dobes made 26 saves Thursday in a 7-3 win over Colorado.

It was his fifth straight win. Dobes extended his point streak to eight games (7-0-1). That's the longest by a Canadiens rookie goalie since Mike Condon had an eight-game streak in 2015-16. Dobes is 17-5-3 with a 2.96 GAA and .890 save percentage in 24 starts (25 appearances) this season.

  • Oilers' Connor Ingram: Overcomes early struggles

Ingram stopped 17 of 20 shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Sharks.

Ingram gave up all three goals within the first 11:40 of the game. The Oilers pulled off a rally to tie the contest in the third period, and Zach Hyman completed the comeback at 1:06 of overtime. This was a second shaky start in a row for Ingram, who has given up six goals on his last 32 shots faced. He's up to 6-3-1 with a 2.46 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 11 appearances. Tristan Jarry is likely to get the nod Saturday versus the Wild, as Ingram has mostly alternated starts with Jarry for much of January.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Back in loss category

Hellebuyck made 33 saves Thursday in a 4-1 loss to the Lightning.

Hellebuyck snapped a four-game winless streak in his last outing, and Thursday was a tough slog -- the Bolts are among the NHL's best teams, and the Jets are one of the worst. Last season, Hellebuyck was the Vezina Trophy winner as the NHL's best goalie. This season, he's 4-9-6 in his last 19 starts and 13-15-6 with a 2.71 GAA and .902 save percentage in 34 starts. Hellebuyck's ratios are above league average this season, which is a testament to his individual skill, but he's pushing a jet that's out of fuel this season.
