Oilers' Matt Tomkins: Shuts out Wranglers
Tomkins posted a 33-save shutout in AHL Bakersfield's 1-0 overtime win over Calgary on Sunday.
Tomkins earned his second shutout of the AHL campaign, which is the sixth shutout of his career. Tomkins has gone 11-5-4 with a 3.10 GAA and a .901 save percentage over 21 appearances. He's won four of his last six outings as well, and he'll likely see a starting role while Connor Ingram remains in the NHL.

Canucks' Jiri Patera: Back in NHL
Patera was recalled from AHL Abbotsford under emergency conditions Sunday.
Patera will swap places with Nikita Tolopilo, who was sent down to Abbotsford after a poor outing Saturday versus the Oilers. In the NHL this season, Patera has lost his only appearance, allowing seven goals on 40 shots in an 8-5 loss to the Panthers on Nov. 17. He's gone 7-6-2 with a 2.49 GAA and a .915 save percentage over 16 outings in the AHL.

Nikita Tolopilo G | VAN
Canucks' Nikita Tolopilo: Dropped to AHL
Tolopilo was reassigned to AHL Abbotsford on Sunday.
Tolopilo allowed six goals in Saturday's loss to the Oilers, and the Canucks decided to swap out goalies a day later. Tolopilo will head to Abbotsford while Jiri Patera was called up under emergency conditions to back up Kevin Lankinen moving forward until Thatcher Demko (lower body) is healthy again. Tolopilo will see more consistent playing time with the AHL club.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Set to start Monday
Sorokin is slated to defend the road crease against Vancouver on Monday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Sorokin has been stellar since returning from a lower-body injury, going 3-1-0 with a 2.02 GAA, .942 save percentage and two shutouts over his last four starts. He made a home start against the Canucks on Dec. 19, turning aside 27 of 30 shots in a 4-1 loss.

Jake Oettinger G | DAL
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Yields three goals in loss
Oettinger stopped 22 of 25 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Lightning. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.
Oettinger didn't get the necessary goal support to steer him out of a rough patch. He's lost six of his last seven games (1-3-3), and this was the fifth time in that span he's given up at least three goals. For the season, Oettinger is down to 17-10-4 with a 2.69 GAA and a .902 save percentage over 31 starts. The Stars' next game is at home versus the surging Bruins on Tuesday, who come into that game on a six-game winning streak.

Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Reaches 20-win mark Sunday
Vasilevskiy stopped 19 of 20 shots in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Stars.
Vasilevskiy allowed the first goal to Oskar Back at 4:00 of the first period, but that was the extent of Dallas' offense. The 31-year-old Vasilevskiy has won nine of his last 10 outings and hasn't lost in regulation since Dec. 18 versus the Kings. The stud netminder has a 20-7-3 record with a 2.22 GAA and a .915 save percentage through 30 outings this season. The Lightning's next game is at home Tuesday versus the Sharks.

Red Wings' John Gibson: Tending twine Sunday
Gibson will patrol the home crease against Ottawa on Sunday.
Gibson has stopped 135 of the 144 shots he has faced during his five-game winning streak. He has gone 18-9-1 with a 2.73 GAA, a .903 save percentage and three shutouts through 29 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign. Ottawa ranks 11th in the league this season with 3.26 goals per game.

Senators' James Reimer: Starting in Detroit
Reimer will guard the road goal against the Red Wings on Sunday, per Jackson Starr of the Senators' official site.
Reimer will make his Ottawa debut in the second half of the team's back-to-back after Leevi Merilainen played in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss to Montreal. The 37-year-old Reimer went 10-10-2 with a 3.04 GAA and an .896 save percentage in 24 regular-season appearances between Anaheim and Buffalo in 2024-25.

Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: In goal Sunday
Vasilevskiy will defend the road net against Dallas on Sunday.
Vasilevskiy is coming off a 19-save effort in Friday's 3-2 shootout loss to St. Louis. He has a 19-7-3 record with a 2.26 GAA, a .914 save percentage and one shutout through 29 appearances in the 2025-26 campaign. Dallas is tied for eighth in the league this season with 3.31 goals per game.

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Practices Sunday
Lyon (lower body) participated in Sunday's practice, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.
According to Lenzi, Lyon could be ready to return to the lineup at some point over the next four games. Buffalo begins a five-game road trip against Carolina on Monday. Lyon has missed nine straight outings and remains on injured reserve for now.
