  • Blackhawks' Drew Commesso: First win comes via shutout

Commesso posted a 36-save shutout in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Predators.

Commesso started for the second day in a row, but he was able to handle the ample traffic the Predators were able to direct to the net. The 23-year-old netminder has allowed five goals on 60 shots over his two outings this season. Commesso will be with the Blackhawks until Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom recover from the illness that has ravaged Chicago's roster. Commesso's not yet in a position to challenge Soderblom for the backup role, but he has been steady between the pipes for AHL Rockford.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Posts 27-save shutout Saturday

Gibson stopped all 27 shots he faced in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens.

Gibson posted a third straight win and his third shutout of the season -- the previous ones were against the Canucks and Blackhawks on Dec. 8 and Dec. 13, respectively. Gibson has also looked excellent from a fantasy perspective since this was his fifth straight contest with three or fewer goals conceded.

  • Jacob Fowler G | MON

Canadiens' Jacob Fowler: Tagged with loss Saturday

Fowler stopped 20 of 23 shots in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Red Wings. The fourth goal was an empty-netter with 1:07 left in the third period.

Fowler has been playing regularly of late, but his performances have had some ups and downs from a fantasy perspective. He's won just two of his last five outings while going 2-2-1, but he's given up two or fewer goals in three of those five appearances. The 21-year-old netminder is expected to continue in a timeshare in the Canadiens' crease alongside Sam Montembeault and Jakub Dobes.

  • Juuse Saros G | NSH

Predators' Juuse Saros: Gets no help in loss

Saros allowed two goals on 18 shots in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Blackhawks. The third goal was an empty-netter.

Saros continues to alternate wins and losses, having done so for eight straight starts. The 30-year-old was unfortunate Saturday, as the Predators weren't able to cash in against a tired Blackhawks team that was on the second half of a back-to-back while battling illness. Saros drops to 17-15-3 with a 2.94 GAA and an .897 save percentage over 35 starts this season. Justus Annunen is likely to get the nod for Sunday's home game against the Capitals.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Earns win Saturday

Luukkonen stopped 31 of 34 shots in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Ducks.

After getting Thursday's 5-2 win over the Rangers off to rest, Luukkonen returned to the crease and continued his strong run of play in recent weeks. The 26-year-old netminder has won five of his last six starts, going 5-1-0 while allowing three goals or fewer in all but one of those contests. Luukkonen has also posted a save percentage of .910 or higher in five of those six outings.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Beaten four times

Dostal stopped 27 of 31 shots in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres. The fifth goal was an empty-netter with 11 seconds left in the third period.

Dostal was beaten once in the first period, once in the second and twice more in the third. He hasn't won a game since Dec. 20, going 0-5-1 over his last eight appearances while allowing four or more goals in six of those contests.

  • Joseph Woll G | TOR

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Second shutout of season

Woll made 29 saves Saturday in a 5-0 win over Vancouver.

It was Woll's second shutout of the season and fourth of his NHL career. He benefited from a tight, effective team in front of him. Toronto went 4-for-4 on the penalty kill in the first period and 6-for-6 for the game. Woll is 5-0-1 in his past six decisions. Both shutouts have come in that span, and both have come since Christmas.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Appears in relief

Lankinen made 16 saves in a 5-0 loss to Toronto on Saturday. He allowed two goals.

He replaced starter Thatcher Demko, who left after one period because of a lower-body injury. Lankinen becomes the de facto starter until Demko returns. The 30-year-old Lankinen's 6-11-4 record, 3.40 GAA and .883 save percentage are a far cry from his brilliant last season, when he went 25-25-10 with four shutouts, 2.62 GAA and .902 save percentage in 49 starts. Lankinen is an apply-with-caution fantasy netminder because of the Orcas rebuild vision.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Swarmed by killer bees

Ersson made 16 saves in a 7-2 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Ersson was swarmed by killer bees Saturday, and his coach wasn't about to bail him out. He has lost two straight games with 12 goals allowed over that span. He's also 1-4-2 in his last seven (27 goals allowed). Ersson, who is 6-6-4 with a 3.33 GAA and an .858 save percentage in 16 starts, is going to continue to take a back seat to Dan Vladar, whose 16-6-4 record, 2.35 GAA and .910 save percentage are stellar.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Lucky seven-straight wins

Vasilevskiy made 18 saves in a 7-2 win over the Flyers on Saturday.

That was lucky seven wins in a row, without even rolling the dice. Vasilevskiy continues to deliver elite goaltending, with an 18-7-2 record, one shutout, 2.33 GAA and .913 save percentage. You know what to do.
