  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Tending twine versus Avalanche

Vasilevskiy will guard the home goal versus the Avalanche on Tuesday, Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com reports.

Vasilevskiy has won his last five outings despite an .893 save percentage in that span. The 31-year-old will have a big challenge ahead against the league-leading Avalanche. Colorado comes into this game after just its third regulation loss of the season -- the team has scored 23 goals over the last six games.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Starting against Stars

Bussi will protect the home goal versus the Stars on Tuesday, Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News reports.

Bussi picked up a win over the Devils on Sunday, stopping 28 of 29 shots to bounce back from his worst outing of the season. The 27-year-old is 14-2-1 this season, including three wins in his last four games. The Stars enter this matchup on an 0-2-3 skid, in which they've scored 13 goals.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Tending twine Tuesday

Hellebuyck will patrol the home crease against Vegas on Tuesday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.

Hellebuyck has lost his last eight outings (0-5-3) while allowing 23 goals on 190 shots. He has a 9-11-3 record this season with a 2.58 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 23 appearances. Vegas ranks 15th in the league with 3.08 goals per game this campaign.

  • Rangers' Spencer Martin: Summoned from AHL

Martin was recalled from AHL Hartford on Tuesday.

The Rangers placed Igor Shesterkin (lower body) on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Martin has a 1-4-1 record with a 3.01 GAA and a .903 save percentage in six AHL appearances this season. He will serve as Jonathan Quick's backup during Shesterkin's absence.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Placed on injured reserve

Shesterkin (lower body) was designated for injured reserve Tuesday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Shesterkin's lower-body injury is still being evaluated by the club, but the veteran backstop will miss at least the next three games at minimum. Through the first 34 outings of the year, the Russian netminder is sporting a 17-12-4 record, 2.45 GAA and one shutout. With Shesterkin on the shelf, Jonathan Quick will have to hold down the netminding duties while Spencer Martin or Dylan Garand could be called up from the minors to serve as the No. 2 option.

  • Oilers' Tristan Jarry: Shifts to LTIR

Jarry (lower body) was moved to long-term injured reserve Tuesday.

Jarry has already missed seven games due to his lower-body issue, so his shift to LTIR doesn't significantly impact his recovery timeline. Since being acquired by the Oilers via trade, the 30-year-old backstop went 3-0-0 despite a 3.08 GAA. Until Jarry is given the all-clear, Connor Ingram and Calvin Pickard figure to hold down the netminding duties.

  • Jet Greaves G | CLB

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Defending crease in San Jose

Greaves will guard the road net against the Sharks on Tuesday, according to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.

Greaves has been a workhorse for the Blue Jackets lately -- he's appeared in 12 of the team's last 13 games, during which he's 5-6-1 with a 2.40 GAA and a .922 save percentage. The Ontario native was heading toward earning a victory Sunday against Pittsburgh, but Columbus squandered a 4-1 lead and lost in overtime. The Sharks, for their part, are coming off a 7-3 defeat to Tampa Bay on Saturday following a three-game winning streak.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Moves to IR

Lyon (lower body) was moved to injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site.

Lyon will miss his third straight game against Vancouver on Tuesday after being injured in a 4-2 win over St. Louis on Dec. 29. He is day-to-day, but it's unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen will probably see the majority of the starts during Lyon's absence, while Colten Ellis serves as the backup.

  • Owen Say G | CGY

Flames' Owen Say: Returns to minors

Say was sent back to AHL Calgary on Tuesday, according to Ryan Pike of Flames Nation.

Say was recalled under emergency conditions Monday and backed up Dustin Wolf against the Kraken due to Devin Cooley (illness) missing the game. Say's demotion to the Wranglers is a strong indication that Cooley will be available for Wednesday's contest in Montreal. Say has never appeared in an NHL game.

  • Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: First off at morning skate

Nedeljkovic is slated to start at home Tuesday versus the Blue Jackets, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Nedeljkovic has conceded at least three goals in each of his last three starts and hasn't earned a win since Dec. 11 in Toronto. The 29-year-old will look to right the ship against a Columbus squad that currently sits last in the Eastern Conference with an 18-16-7 record. This will be the first matchup of the Blue Jackets' four-game road trip out west after blowing a 4-1 lead versus the Penguins on Sunday.
