  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Bailed out in OT win

Montembeault made 28 saves in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Panthers.

The game was still scoreless midway through the third period, but Brad Marchand and Sam Reinhart struck to give Florida a 2-0 lead with less than five minutes left in regulation. Montembeault buckled down and didn't allow another goal, giving Montreal a chance to rally before Nick Suzuki potted the winner in OT. It was the 29-year-old netminder's first start since Dec. 9, as he's fallen to third on the Habs' depth chart behind Jakub Dobes and rookie Jacob Fowler, while the win was Montembeault's first since Nov. 28. On the season, he sports a 6-6-1 record with a shaky 3.53 GAA and .863 save percentage.

  • Jet Greaves G | CLB

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Set to face New Jersey

Greaves is expected to start at home against New Jersey on Wednesday, per Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site.

Greaves has an 11-9-5 record, 2.60 GAA and .909 save percentage in 25 appearances in 2025-26. He's won his past three starts while stopping 74 of 78 shots (.949 save percentage). The Devils rank 27th in goals per game with 2.64.

  • Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Set to start Wednesday

Lindgren is set to start at home against the Rangers on Wednesday, per Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post.

Lindgren has a 5-4-2 record, 3.07 GAA and .888 save percentage in 12 appearances this season. He's made just two starts since Dec. 3, allowing eight goals on 59 shots (.864 save percentage) over those outings. Perhaps he'll have a better result against the Rangers, who rank 31st in goals per game with 2.54.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Falters against Flyers

Demko allowed four goals on 31 shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Flyers. The last two goals were empty-netters.

The Canucks kept the puck away from Demko early in the game, but the 30-year-old netminder couldn't keep up when the Flyers found their feet. This was Demko's third straight loss, and he's allowed 13 goals on 105 shots in that span. He's now at an 8-8-0 record with a 2.72 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 17 appearances. The Canucks won't often have enough offense to give him proper support, making Demko especially risky for fantasy managers chasing wins. The Canucks have a back-to-back up next, hosting the Kraken on Friday and the Bruins on Saturday.

  • Dan Vladar G | PHI

Flyers' Dan Vladar: Steady in Tuesday's win

Vladar stopped 32 of 35 shots in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Canucks.

Vladar picked up his third win in his last four outings. This was just the third time in eight appearances in December that the 28-year-old allowed three or more goals. He's up to 14-6-3 with a 2.40 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 23 appearances. Vladar should continue to handle a starting role in goal, but he'll likely avoid a rematch with his former team, the Flames, when the Flyers visit Calgary on Wednesday.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Loses in shootout

Knight gave up two goals on 21 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Islanders.

Knight started slowly, allowing both goals in the first period. He kept his net empty until Bo Horvat, who had the Islanders' second goal, scored in the shootout. The 24-year-old Knight is now 0-5-1 over his last six games, but this was one of his better performances during the losing streak. For the season, he's at a 10-11-6 record with a 2.62 GAA and a .910 save percentage through 27 starts. The Blackhawks have a tough matchup Thursday at home versus the Stars.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Left alone by his teammates

Markstrom made 26 saves in a 4-0 loss to Toronto on Tuesday. He allowed three goals.

It was a tough night for Markstrom. The first goal came on the power play, the second marker came just one second after the man advantage expired and the third goal came on a deflection off a Devils' defender. Markstrom's mates failed to show up, either offensively or physically, and he was left alone to weather the Leafs' charge. He has scuffled this season on the whole, but he has looked sharper of late. Markstrom had allowed just five goals on 73 shots (.932) over his last three starts (1-2-0) and could be starting to change his luck.

  • Islanders' David Rittich: Secures shootout win

Rittich stopped 17 of 19 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout win over the Blackhawks.

Rittich wasn't at his best, and the Islanders weren't either. The Blackhawks were able to bury a pair of goals in the second period, but that was it, and Rittich shut the door in the shootout to earn his third win in his last four starts. He's allowed eight goals on 144 shots over his last five games since taking over the No. 1 role in the absence of Ilya Sorokin (lower body). Rittich is at a 10-4-2 record with a 2.27 GAA and a .917 save percentage through 16 appearances. The Islanders begin a three-game homestand Thursday versus the Mammoth.

  • Joseph Woll G | TOR

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: First shutout of season

Woll made 33 saves in a 4-0 win over New Jersey on Tuesday.

Woll dazzled several times, in particular a miraculous reach-back with his stick to pull a sure goal off the line following a stuff attempt by Nico Hischier late in the second period. It preserved the score at 2-2. It was Woll's first shutout of the season and third of his career. Woll has had a strong December with six wins against just one loss and 15 goals allowed (.926) in seven starts. Anthony Stolarz (upper body) remains out indefinitely, and the Leafs have alternated Woll and Dennis Hildeby, who has gone 1-3-3 (21 goals, .901) in the same number of starts. At some point, it seems likely the Leafs will turn to Woll a bit more often given the team's need to win.

  • Joseph Woll G | TOR

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: In goal Tuesday

Woll will patrol the home crease against New Jersey on Tuesday, per David Alter of The Hockey News.

Woll has won his last two outings despite allowing eight goals on 63 shots. He has a 7-4-1 record this season with a 2.73 GAA and a .913 save percentage through 12 appearances. New Jersey sits 27th in the league with 2.71 goals per game this season.
