Arturs Silovs G | PIT
Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Earns shootout win
Silovs stopped 22 of 25 shots in Sunday's 4-3 shootout win over the Canadiens.
Silovs had lost his last seven outings (0-3-4), including two defeats in the shootout. He got the job done this time after allowing the tying goal to Noah Dobson at 4:04 of the third period. Silovs is at 5-5-6 with a 3.22 GAA and an .889 save percentage over 16 outings this season. He's likely to remain in the backup role behind Stuart Skinner, though neither goalie has looked all that good over the last four games. The Penguins visit the struggling Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

Jake Allen G | NJ
Devils' Jake Allen: Can't slow down Sabres
Allen stopped 22 of 24 shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Sabres. The third goal was an empty-netter.
Allen wasn't able to collect a third straight win, but he still had a fairly good effort. He allowed second-period goals to Josh Norris and Zach Benson. Allen has given up four goals on 92 shots over his last three outings, though Jacob Markstrom's play has also improved recently, leading to the two alternating starts over the last week-plus. For the year, Allen is 10-8-0 with a 2.47 GAA and a .912 save percentage over 19 appearances. The 35-year-old netminder remains a decent fantasy play for his stable ratios. The Devils' next game is Tuesday versus the Islanders.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen G | BUF
Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Takes down Devils
Luukkonen stopped 26 of 27 shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Devils.
Even with reinforcements, the Devils weren't able to stop the suddenly hot Sabres. Luukkonen did his part after being on the bench for five straight games since he was pulled from his Dec. 8 loss versus the Flames. The 26-year-old is up to 5-5-1 with a 2.73 GAA and an .892 save percentage over 11 appearances this season. Alex Lyon has played too well to relinquish the crease, but Luukkonen is at least back to applying some pressure after the latter's struggles earlier in the month. The Sabres' next game is Tuesday versus the Senators.

Dennis Hildeby G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Can't handle tough task
Hildeby stopped 17 of 21 shots in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Stars, who also had an empty-netter.
Hildeby did his part to keep the game close through two periods, but the Stars ran away in the third. The 24-year-old was on the hook for his fourth straight loss (0-3-1), and he's allowed 17 goals on 114 shots in that span. For the season, Hildeby is 2-5-3 with a 2.96 GAA and a .908 save percentage in 13 appearances. Hildeby and Joseph Woll will likely continue to share the crease, though Woll is the better bet to see a majority of the starts, including Tuesday's home game against the Penguins.

Jake Oettinger G | DAL
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Keeps Toronto quiet
Oettinger stopped 27 of 28 shots in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Maple Leafs.
Oettinger had a shutout going until 8:39 of the third period, when Scott Laughton's goal broke it up. That was all Oettinger gave up while working his way to his fifth win in seven outings in December. The 27-year-old netminder improved to 16-6-2 with a 2.50 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 24 appearances. The Stars' next game is Tuesday on the road versus the Red Wings.

Tristan Jarry G | EDM
Oilers' Tristan Jarry: Set to miss multiple weeks
Head coach Kris Knoblauch said Sunday that Jarry (lower body) is expected to miss a few weeks, Ryan Rishaug of TSN reports.
Jarry suffered a lower-body injury during Thursday's game against the Bruins and was placed on injured reserve a day later. He's slated to spend more than the minimum amount of time on IR, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him sidelined until at least early January. Calvin Pickard should serve as the Oilers' primary netminder in Jarry's absence, while Connor Ingram will be available as a backup.

Connor Ingram G | EDM
Oilers' Connor Ingram: Making season debut against Vegas
Ingram is set to make his 2025-26 debut against the Golden Knights on Sunday, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.
Ingram was recalled from AHL Bakersfield on Friday due to Tristan Jarry's lower-body injury. The 28-year-old Ingram is 4-5-2 with an .856 save percentage and a 4.04 GAA across 11 appearances with the Condors this season. The 2016 third-round pick will have a difficult first start against a Vegas team that sits second in the Pacific Divison with 42 points and is 9-3-5 away from home. Ingram went 9-8-4 with an .882 save percentage and a 3.27 GAA over 22 appearances with Utah in 2024-25.

Connor Hellebuyck G | WPG
Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Between pipes Sunday
Hellebuyck will start Sunday's road game against Utah, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Hellebuyck has made four starts since returning from a knee injury, but he's in the midst of a cold spell in which he's gone 0-2-1 with a 2.32 GAA and .916 save percentage over his last three outings. He made a home start against the Mammoth on Oct. 26 and turned aside 29 of 32 shots in a 3-2 loss.

Dennis Hildeby G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Set to start in Dallas
Hildeby will patrol the blue paint in Dallas on Sunday, according to David Alter of The Hockey News.
Hildeby is 2-4-3 with a .915 save percentage and a 2.85 GAA over 12 appearances in 2025-26. The 24-year-old will have a tough test Sunday against the Stars, who rank second in the NHL with 3.47 goals per game. This is the second half of a back-to-back for Toronto, while Dallas last played Friday, which only adds to the challenge for Hildeby.

Jakub Dobes G | MON
Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Tending twine in Pittsburgh
Dobes will defend the road crease against Pittsburgh on Sunday, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Dobes will draw his third start in the Canadiens' last seven games in the second half of a back-to-back set Sunday. He has won his last two starts, posting a 1.00 GAA and .953 save percentage during that time.
