  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Unavailable for Thursday's game

    Wedgewood (back) won't be available for Thursday's road game against the Islanders, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post reports.

    Wedgewood was removed from Tuesday's game against the Canucks after his back tightened up, and he'll be unavailable for at least one additional matchup. However, head coach Jared Bednar said that Wedgewood worked out Thursday morning and could return at some point during Colorado's current road trip, which runs through Tuesday. Mackenzie Blackwood will serve as the starting netminder against the Islanders on Thursday, while Trent Miner will be available as the No. 2 option.

    Flames' Dustin Wolf: Between pipes versus Wild

    Wolf will tend the twine at home against Minnesota on Tuesday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

    Wolf has seen Devin Cooley taking more of the workload of late, starting five of the Flames' last seven contests, but the 24-year-old Wolf was pressed into service in a relief appearance against Nashville on Tuesday. With a strong game versus the Wild, Wolf could reclaim his spot as the No. 1 option in Calgary.

  • Canucks' Nikita Tolopilo: Called up Thursday

    Tolopilo was recalled from AHL Abbotsford under emergency conditions Thursday.

    Tolopilo was designated as non-roster Monday while tending to a personal matter, but he was activated Wednesday and will join the NHL club a day later. Tolopilo should serve as Kevin Lankinen's backup during his time with Vancouver. Tolopilo has made two starts for Vancouver this year, going 1-1-0 with a 3.56 GAA and .892 save percentage.

    Canucks' Jiri Patera: Sent to AHL

    Patera was assigned to AHL Abbotsford on Thursday.

    Patera was called up by Vancouver on Monday, but he didn't make any appearances during his stint with the NHL club. He should see more consistent playing time in the minors, while Nikita Tolopilo was called up Thursday to provide additional depth behind Kevin Lankinen for Vancouver.

  • Oilers' Calvin Pickard: Starting against Seattle

    Pickard will patrol the home crease versus Seattle on Thursday, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.

    Pickard has been a disaster this season, going 2-3-2 with a lackluster 4.04 GAA and .847 save percentage. His peripherals are the worst in the league for any goaltender who has played more than three games. The Kraken are 31st in NHL scoring, scoring 2.46 goals per game.

    Jarry is 8-2-0 with a 2.57 GAA and a .911 save percentage across 11 games this season. He will make his fifth straight appearance, though he came on in relief Saturday against Toronto. The Lightning are eighth in NHL scoring, generating 3.27 goals per game.

    Korpisalo enters action Thursday with a 4-6-0 record. His peripherals have been weak this season, with a 3.52 GAA and an .880 save percentage. The Blues are scoring 2.56 goals per game, which ranks 30th in the NHL.

    Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) will not dress Thursday versus Pittsburgh, according to Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times.

    Head coach Jon Cooper said Thursday that Jonas Johansson will get the start, as Vasilevskiy is not available. Cooper went on to say that he expects Vasilevskiy to be ready Saturday against the Islanders. The Lightning recalled Brandon Halverson from AHL Syracuse to be the backup netminder Thursday.

    Woll has been inconsistent in recent outings, going 2-2-0 with a 2.50 GAA and .925 save percentage over his last four starts. He'll have a tough matchup against the Hurricanes, who rank sixth in the NHL with 3.40 goals per game this season.
