  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Secures win in OT

Shesterkin turned aside 24 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Stars.

The 29-year-old netminder is in a bit of a groove for the Rangers despite the lack of consistent offensive support he's been receiving. Shesterkin has won four of his last five starts. He has allowed more than three goals only once in his past 10, going 7-3-0 during that stretch with a 2.50 GAA and a .914 save percentage.

  • Stars' Casey DeSmith: Falls to Blueshirts in OT

DeSmith stopped 38 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers.

New York outshot the Stars 41-26, but DeSmith was in position for the win until Will Cuylle snuck a rebound past him with just over two minutes left in the third period to tie it up. DeSmith then gave up a rebound early into overtime that went right to Vladislav Gavrikov's stick for the game-winner. The veteran backup still hasn't taken a regulation loss since his first start of the season, Oct. 16, going 6-0-3 over his last nine outings with a dazzling 1.84 GAA and .933 save percentage.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Stumbles against Sens

Montembeault made 24 saves in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to Ottawa.

It was the first time since Oct. 23 that Montembeault had given up more than four goals. The 29-year-old netminder has just one win in his last six outings, going 1-3-0 during that stretch with a shaky 3.86 GAA and .855 save percentage.

  • Jakub Dobes G | MON

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Gets starting nod versus Jets

Dobes will be between the pipes at home versus Winnipeg on Wednesday, Marc Dumont of Montreal Hockey Now reports.

Dobes started the 2025-26 campaign riding a six-game winning streak, but has since gone 2-3-2 in his past seven outings while sporting a 4.42 GAA. He gave up seven goals to the Avalanche on Saturday in his last appearance. Still, the 24-year-old backstop has already set a new personal best for wins this year (eight), and could push Sam Montembeault for more opportunities.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Cruises to win No. 10

Ullmark turned aside 19 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens.

Montreal opened the scoring with a Juraj Slafkovsky power-play tally early in the first period, but Ottawa potted four straight goals afterward. Ullmark has won four of his last five starts. He sports a 10-6-4 record with a 3.05 GAA and an .876 save percentage this season.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: First goalie off Wednesday

Ersson was the first goalie to leave the ice ahead of Wednesday's home clash with the Sabres, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports, indicating he'll be in goal.

Ersson has given up three or more goals in six of his eight outings this year, posting a 4-2-2 record, 3.09 GAA and .859 save percentage. The 26-year-old backstop will be making his third appearance in the Flyers' last seven outings despite his underwhelming numbers.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Hangs on for fifth win

Gibson made 34 saves in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Bruins.

Boston fired 18 shots at Gibson in the third period as the visitors tried to mount a comeback from a 5-2 deficit, but the veteran netminder was able to withstand the barrage. The win was Gibson's first since Oct. 28, and on the season he's 5-7-1 in 14 outings with a shaky 3.62 GAA and .868 save percentage.

  • Bruins' Joonas Korpisalo: Perfect in relief Tuesday

Korpisalo stopped all nine shots he faced after replacing Jeremy Swayman early in the third period of Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Red Wings.

Bruins coach Marco Sturm made the switch to try and spark some life into his team, and the move nearly worked -- Korpisalo entered the game with Boston down 5-2. It was an encouraging start to December in a low-pressure spot for the 31-year-old netminder, who lost his final three starts in November while giving up 13 goals on 90 shots (.856 save percentage), but he remains firmly behind Swayman on the depth chart.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Gets hook in Tuesday's loss

Swayman gave up five goals on 23 shots before being replaced by Joonas Korpisalo early in the third period of Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Red Wings.

While the 27-year-old netminder did allow a somewhat soft goal to Alex DeBrincat early in the second period, the hook from coach Marco Sturm was more about trying to wake up the Bruins' skaters. Boston had fallen behind 5-2 on a Lucas Raymond power-play tally when Swayman left the crease. It was a rough way to begin December after Swayman posted an 8-2-0 record with a 2.06 GAA and a .934 save percentage in November, but his spot at the top of the depth chart isn't in jeopardy.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Loses to former team

Kuemper stopped 22 of 24 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals. The third goal was an empty-netter.

Kuemper put in a decent effort, but he couldn't best his former teammates. He has four losses in his last five games, but he's allowed just 11 goals in that span. For the season, the 35-year-old netminder is providing quality work for the Kings with an 8-5-5 record, a 2.37 GAA and a .908 save percentage through 18 starts. The next two games for the Kings are both at home versus the Blackhawks, with the first scheduled for Thursday.
