Vitek Vanecek G | UTA
Mammoth's Vitek Vanecek: In goal against Stars
Vanecek will protect the road goal versus the Stars on Friday.
Vanecek has allowed 11 goals on 65 shots over his last three games, going 0-2-1 in that span. He'll handle the first half of a back-to-back and has a tough assignment, which makes this look like the Mammoth are saving their strength for Saturday versus the Blues. The Stars have scored 24 goals over their last six games, going 4-1-1 in that span.

Arvid Soderblom G | CHI
Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Set to start versus Predators
Soderblom will start at home versus the Predators on Friday, per CHGO Sports.
Soderblom gave up nine goals on 31 shots versus the Sabres last Friday in his worst start of the year. The 26-year-old will get a fairly favorable matchup against a Nashville team that has lost four of its last six games, scoring 14 times in that span.

Andrei Vasilevskiy G | TB
Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Sixth straight win
Vasilevskiy made 33 saves in a 6-3 victory over Detroit on Friday.
It was Vasilevskiy's sixth consecutive win for the Bolts, who are 14-3-0 in their past 17 contests after a 1-4-2 start. He started the season 0-3-2, but he is 11-2-0 in 13 games since that time. Vasilevskiy currently sits fourth in the NHL in both GAA (2.32) and save percentage (.917) among goaltenders that have played at least 10 games in 2025-26.

Juuse Saros G | NSH
Predators' Juuse Saros: In goal Friday
Saros will guard the road goal versus the Blackhawks on Friday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Saros has allowed nine goals over three games during his current losing streak. The 30-year-old netminder has struggled for much of the season, and he'll have a somewhat tough matchup Friday. The Blackhawks have 16 goals over their last six games.

Pyotr Kochetkov G | CAR
Hurricanes' Pyotr Kochetkov: Not in lineup Friday
Kochetkov (lower body) isn't in the lineup for Friday's home game against Winnipeg, per Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News.
Kochetkov is set to miss his second straight game due to the injury. Brandon Bussi is expected to start Friday, while Frederik Andersen will serve as the backup goaltender. Kochetkov has a 4-0-1 record, 1.70 GAA and .926 save percentage in five appearances in 2025-26.

Thomas Milic G | WPG
Jets' Thomas Milic: Starting against Carolina
Milic will start on the road against Carolina on Friday.
Milic is making his NHL debut. He has a 2.14 GAA and a .921 save percentage in nine appearances with AHL Manitoba this season. He's up with the Jets because Connor Hellebuyck (knee) is unavailable. Carolina is a tough team to get for a first assignment -- the Hurricanes are 14-7-2 and rank fourth in the league in goals per game with 3.43.

Joonas Korpisalo G | BOS
Bruins' Joonas Korpisalo: Struggles Friday
Korpisalo stopped 30 of 35 shots in a 6-2 loss to the Rangers on Friday. New York also collected an empty-net goal.
Korpisalo surrendered at least one goal in every period. He's now lost his past three starts while allowing a combined 13 goals over that stretch. You'd have to go back to 2022-23 to find the last time Korpisalo ended a regular season with a save percentage above .900, and he's unlikely to manage that feat in 2025-26. Even if Korpisalo does start to improve, though, he probably won't wrestle the starting gig away from Jeremy Swayman, who is likely to get the nod for Saturday's home game against Detroit.

Igor Shesterkin G | NYR
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Bests Bruins
Shesterkin stopped 19 of 21 shots in a 6-2 victory over Boston on Friday.
Shesterkin carried a shutout into the third period, but it was broken up by Casey Mittelstadt at 4:07 of the final frame. Morgan Geekie then beat Shesterkin less than two minutes later, but the Rangers still held a 4-2 lead, and the New York goaltender stopped the Bruins' comeback bid there. Shesterkin has now allowed no more than two goals in any of his past three starts, and he's won all three of those games. The 29-year-old is an elite goaltender who sometimes doesn't get enough support from his teammates -- his 10-8-2 record in 2025-26 undersells just how good he's been. He'll take some unearned losses this campaign -- as well as have some off nights -- but it still wouldn't be surprising to see him hit the 30-win mark as long as the Rangers are at least mediocre the rest of the way. It helps that he tends to start in about three of every four games.

Lukas Dostal G | ANA
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Set to miss 2-3 weeks
Dostal (upper body) is expected to miss the next 2-3 weeks, the team announced Friday.
Dostal has an 11-5-1 record, 2.81 GAA and .904 save percentage in 17 outings in 2025-26. Ville Husso was recalled from AHL San Diego on Wednesday and is set to start at home against the Kings on Friday. Husso and Petr Mrazek will compete for starts during Dostal's absence.

Devin Cooley G | CGY
Flames' Devin Cooley: Starting in Florida
Cooley will defend the road net net against the Panthers on Friday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Cooley has a 2-2-1 record through eight appearances this season while permitting only 13 goals on 187 shots. Florida is tied for 13th in the league this campaign with 3.09 goals per game.
