Shesterkin has played well this season despite his 2-4-2 record. The 29-year-old Russian netminder has a 2.25 GAA and a .916 save percentage across eight starts this season. The Oilers are 18th in NHL scoring, averaging 3.18 goals per game.

Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: Defending crease against New Jersey
Nedeljkovic will serve as the starting netminder for Thursday's home game against the Devils, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Nedeljkovic hasn't been particularly sharp early in the season, going 1-2-1 with a 4.00 GAA and an .875 save percentage over his first four starts. He'll face a tough test against the Devils, who have averaged a league-high 3.90 goals per game to begin the season.

Ersson tweaked something during Wednesday's practice session, and he'll be forced to miss multiple games due to his injury. Dan Vladar should serve as the Flyers' primary netminder in Ersson's absence, while Aleksei Kolosov was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley to provide additional depth.

Skinner will be between the home pipes against the Rangers on Thursday, according to Tony Brar of Oilers TV.
Skinner has played well this season after getting off to poor starts in his last two seasons. He is 3-3-1 with a 2.41 GAA and an .898 save percentage over seven starts this season. The Rangers are 31st in NHL scoring, averaging 2.18 GAA per game, though they are much better scoring on the road, finding the back of the net 18 times in six games, compared to only six goals in five home appearances.

Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting Thursday
Oettinger will defend the road crease in Tampa Bay on Thursday, according to Mike Heika of the Stars' official site.
Oettinger has won back-to-back games and has a 5-2-1 record with a 2.61 GAA and a .909 save percentage across eight starts this season. He shut out the Capitals on Tuesday for his first whitewash of the season, stopping 24 shots. The Lightning are having trouble finding the back of the net this season, averaging 2.90 goals per game, tied for 21st in the NHL.

Hellebuyck will tend the home twine versus Chicago on Thursday, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Hellebuyck is 5-3-0 with a 2.26 GAA and a .926 save percentage in eight starts this season. His peripherals are close to last season when he was awarded the Hart and Vezina Trophy. Hellebuyck will face the Blackhawks, who are averaging 3.30 goals per game this season, much better than the 2.73 goals per game they averaged in 2024-25.
