Karel Vejmelka G | UTA
Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Mixed results in win
Vejmelka saved 16 out of 20 shots in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Blues.
Despite saving only four out of every five shots, Vejmelka was able to coast to a win, fueled by Utah's offense, which scored seven times. With the win, Vejmelka is up to a 5-1-0 record with a 2.49 GAA and an .896 save percentage in six appearances. Thursday's contest marked the 29-year-old goaltender's fifth consecutive win, but also his campaign high in goals allowed and season low in saves. Regardless, the Mammoth are trending toward playoff contention this season, and if Vejmelka continues to outduel opposing netminders, he could be well on his way to another career year in fantasy. He is a strong goaltending option in all formats and should be rostered in most deep leagues.

Thatcher Demko G | VAN
Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Beaten twice Thursday
Demko stopped 33 of 35 shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Predators.
It's hard to blame Demko for the outcome of this game, as the lone two goals he conceded were a shorthanded tally and a tip-in, and his 33 saves were the second-most he's recorded in a game this campaign. Through five starts, Demko owns an excellent .927 save percentage and a 2.24 GAA. His next chance to suit up will come against the Canadiens on Saturday, but it's unclear if he'll get the nod since Vancouver has been rotating goaltenders in the last few games.

Petr Mrazek G | ANA
Ducks' Petr Mrazek: Hangs on for wild win
Mrazek made 36 saves in Thursday's 7-5 win over the Bruins.
The Ducks got outshot 41-30 on the night, with Mrazek facing 19 shots on net in the first period alone, but the veteran netminder kept things close until his team could finally take the lead for good late in the third. Lukas Dostal has dominated the work in the crease for Anaheim to begin the season, but Mrazek has benefitted from some impressive offensive support in his two starts, winning both of them despite allowing 11 total goals on 64 shots (.828 save percentage). With the Ducks having Ville Husso stashed at AHL San Diego, though, Mrazek may need to start posting better numbers if he wants to keep his spot on the NHL roster.

Juuse Saros G | NSH
Predators' Juuse Saros: Dominant against Vancouver
Saros stopped 21 of 22 shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Canucks.
Saros bounced back from three straight losses (0-2-1, 3.91 GAA) by allowing no more than one goal for the third time in his first seven starts of the season. Unsurprisingly, Saros is 3-0-0 in those games. The 30-year-old has been a bit inconsistent on a game-to-game basis, but for the most part, he's posted good numbers and should remain as the undisputed No. 1 option between the pipes for Nashville. Through seven starts, Saros has gone 3-2-2 with a 2.53 GAA and a .911 save percentage.

Trent Miner G | COL
Avalanche's Trent Miner: Perfect in relief until shootout
Miner stopped all 20 shots he faced in relief of Scott Wedgewood in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Miner came in during the first period after Wedgewood gave up four goals on 11 shots. This was a strong performance for Miner, but he took a shootout loss when Seth Jarvis tallied the lone goal for the Hurricanes in the skills competition. Miner is winless over his three NHL appearances, and his time with the big club could be nearing a close, as Mackenzie Blackwood (lower body) seems to be close to returning to action.

Scott Wedgewood G | COL
Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Pulled after giving up four goals
Wedgewood allowed four goals on 11 shots in Thursday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Hurricanes.
Wedgewood was pulled after the Hurricanes capitalized early and often. The 33-year-old avoided taking a result, as the Avalanche rallied to tie the game, forcing overtime before losing in a shootout, which went on Trent Miner's ledger. Wedgewood remains 5-0-2 with a 2.32 GAA and a .910 save percentage, but he's allowed four goals in each of his last two outings. Mackenzie Blackwood (lower body) seems to be nearing a return, and that would likely see Wedgewood drop into at least a timeshare if not the backup role outright. The Avalanche have a pair of road games this weekend, facing the Bruins on Saturday and the Devils on Sunday.

Frederik Andersen G | CAR
Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Heavy workload in shootout win
Andersen stopped 44 of 48 shots in Thursday's 5-4 shootout win over the Avalanche.
Andersen got back in the win column after his first loss of the season Monday in Vegas. It wasn't without drama -- the Hurricanes squandered a 4-1 lead after one period, but Andersen was clutch in overtime and turned aside all three of Colorado's shootout attempts. The 36-year-old netminder is now 4-1-0 with a 2.72 GAA and a .901 save percentage through five outings. The Hurricanes wrap up this six-game road trip in Dallas on Saturday, which is likely to be another challenging matchup for a team missing five regulars from the lineup.

Jake Oettinger G | DAL
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Drops result in overtime
Oettinger stopped 22 of 25 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kings.
Oettinger has allowed nine goals on 74 shots during his 0-2-1 skid. The Stars haven't had it easy to begin the year, with five of their first seven games being against 2024-25 playoff teams. The 26-year-old is 3-2-1 with a 3.15 GAA and an .894 save percentage. There's another level of performance in there, but Oettinger's struggles can be partially attributed to the Stars dealing with a number of injuries early in the campaign. He will likely split the next two games with Casey DeSmith, as Dallas hosts Carolina on Saturday before visiting Nashville on Sunday.

David Rittich G | NYI
Islanders' David Rittich: Strong play in win
Rittich made 31 saves Thursday in a 7-2 win over Detroit.
One of the Red Wings goals came on the power play, and the other was scored at even strength. After the game, head coach Patrick Roy lauded Rittich for his strong play, which could earn him a few more starts. Rittich is 2-0-0 with a 2.01 GAA and .939 save percentage this season.

Darcy Kuemper G | LA
Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Gets another overtime win
Kuemper stopped 29 of 31 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Stars.
Kuemper has a pair of overtime wins in his two starts since returning from a lower-body injury. The Stars gave him his toughest test of the season, as the 31 shots against marked a season high in his five starts. He's now 2-2-1 with a 2.59 GAA and an .896 save percentage this season. Look for Kuemper and Anton Forsberg to split the Kings' next two games, which are Saturday in Nashville and Sunday in Chicago.
