  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Defending crease Tuesday

Skinner will defend the road net against Ottawa on Tuesday, per Tony Brar of Oilers TV.

Skinner has lost his last two outings while making 42 saves on 48 shots. He has a 1-2-1 record through four appearances this campaign but owns a mark of 5-1-0 in six previous regular-season outings versus the Senators. Ottawa is tied for 11th in the league with 3.17 goals per game in 2025-26.

    Predators' Juuse Saros: Facing Ducks

Saros will patrol the home crease against Anaheim on Tuesday, according to Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.

Saros is coming off a 20-save effort in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Winnipeg. He has a 2-1-2 record this season while stopping 136 of the 148 shots he has faced through five appearances. Anaheim is tied for 21st in the league with 2.80 goals per game this campaign.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Tending twine Tuesday

Oettinger will defend the home cage against Columbus on Tuesday, Brien Rea of Victory+ reports.

Oettinger will look to bounce back from his first loss of the season against the Blues on Saturday -- though he gave up just two goals on 21 shots in that performance. It will be the 26-year-old backstop's fifth outing in the Stars' first six games, posting a 3-1-0 record and a .905 save percentage along the way.

  • Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Starting in Dallas

Merzlikins will tend the road twine Tuesday versus the Stars, according to Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site.

Merzlikins will continue to split time in the crease with Jet Greaves, as the two netminders are alternating starts to begin the season. The 31-year-old Merzlikins has a 1-1-0 record, 3.53 GAA and .920 save percentage through two appearances. He made 32 saves on 35 shots in his last start during Thursday's 4-1 loss to Colorado.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Tending twine Tuesday

Bobrovsky will defend the cage on the road against the Bruins on Tuesday.

Bobrovsky has given up more than two goals just once in his first five appearances, going 3-2-0 with a stellar 2.02 GAA. The veteran netminder has reached the 50-game mark in each of his previous four campaigns and shows no signs of slowing down in 2025-26. With no back-to-backs on the schedule in the short term, fantasy managers can expect a heavy dose of Bobrovsky in the crease.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Headed for conditioning stint

Luukkonen (lower body) was reassigned to AHL Rochester on a conditioning assignment Tuesday.

Luukkonen figures to get the start for the Americans in Wednesday's matchup with AHL Syracuse, though he could stay in the minors a little longer. At a minimum, the netminder shouldn't be expected to suit up for Wednesday's clash with the Red Wings. In the meantime, Alex Lyon figures to continue seeing the bulk of the starts for the Sabres.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Set to start Tuesday

Ullmark will patrol the home blue paint Tuesday against the Oilers, according to TSN 1200 Ottawa.

Ullmark has given up at least three goals in all but one of his five appearances this season, going 2-3-0 with a 3.99 GAA and an .848 save percentage. The Swedish netminder will face an Oilers squad that has dropped three straight games while scoring seven goals during that span. Ullmark has a 3-3-1 record, .888 save percentage and 3.28 GAA over nine career appearances versus Edmonton.

  • Golden Knights' Akira Schmid: Earns win in relief

Schmid stopped 22 of 23 shots in Monday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Schmid had to step up in relief for an injured Adin Hill (lower body) for the second time this season. The former was outstanding against the undefeated Hurricanes and stopped all but one of the shots he faced en route to earning his fourth win of the campaign in an equal number of appearances. Schmid is expected to operate as the Golden Knights' No. 1 netminder if Hill is forced to miss time, and right now, he'd be slated to start against the Panthers on Saturday if Hill weren't able to return.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Gets starting nod against Kraken

Thompson will be between the pipes at home versus Seattle on Tuesday, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.

Thompson enters Tuesday's tilt riding a three-game winning streak during which he is sporting a 1.66 GAA and a .928 save percentage. The 28-year-old backstop was set to receive the bulk of the workload to open the season for the Caps and has done nothing to open the door for Charlie Lindgren to get more opportunities. Still, with a back-to-back against the Blue Jackets and Senators on Friday and Saturday, respectively, Thompson and Lindgren figure to split the workload.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Beaten four times Monday

Andersen stopped 22 of 25 shots in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights. The fourth goal was an empty-netter with 1:37 left in the third period.

The Hurricanes' winning streak got snapped Monday by the Golden Knights, and there was not much Andersen could've done to prevent that outcome against the hottest attack in the league. Despite the 3-1-0 record, Andersen isn't having the best start to the campaign. He owns a solid 2.46 GAA, but his .894 save percentage through four starts is poor. Andersen should continue to see a heavy workload in the coming games, but that might change once Pyotr Kochetkov (lower body) is ready to return. Based on the recent results, it wouldn't be surprising if Brandon Bussi gets a start in either of the Hurricanes' final two games of the road trip as well. Carolina will play in Colorado on Thursday and Dallas on Saturday.
