  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Starting Sunday

Gibson will defend the home crease against Edmonton on Saturday, according to Max Bultman of The Athletic.

Gibson was stellar Friday, turning aside 32 shots in a 2-1 overtime win over Tampa Bay. The win was in stark contrast to his only other appearance this season, when he allowed five goals on 13 shots in a loss to Montreal on Opening Night. Edmonton has managed only 10 goals in four games this campaign.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Facing Stars

Binnington will patrol the home crease against Dallas on Saturday, according to Lou Korac of The Hockey News.

Binnington made six saves on seven shots in a brief relief appearance against Chicago on Wednesday. He stopped 27 shots in a 5-2 win over Vancouver on Monday in his last start. Dallas has registered 17 goals through four outings this season.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Little work in win

Thompson stopped 13 of 14 shots in Friday's 5-1 win over the Wild.

Thompson had little work to do, as the Capitals dominated all aspects of the game. It's his third straight win, and he's yet to allow more than two goals in any outing this season. Thompson has also faced fewer than 25 shots in three of his starts, which shows the strength of the Capitals' defense. Charlie Lindgren got the third game of the season -- albeit in a back-to-back set -- so the Capitals' starting goalie for Sunday's game versus the Canucks could be telling for determining how the team will deploy its netminders this year.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Better effort but remains winless

Vasilevskiy stopped 29 of 31 shots in Friday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Red Wings.

Vasilevskiy remains winless through four starts, but the last two defeats have come in overtime. Friday's performance was his best of the season so far, despite the end result. He's too talented to have a save percentage under .900 for too long, so it's fair to expect Vasilevskiy to get on track soon -- it's possible he's still shaking off some rust after an injury disrupted his preseason. Look for Jonas Johansson to get the nod versus Columbus on Saturday, while Vasilevskiy will have plenty of rest in preparation for facing the Blackhawks on Thursday.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Rebounds well in second start

Gibson allowed one goal on 32 shots in Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Lightning.

Gibson was pulled from his Detroit debut Oct. 9 versus the Canadiens, but his second start went much better. He needed to be good, and he was, allowing the Red Wings to earn a fourth straight win. It may still take a few performances for Gibson to claw back from starts from Cam Talbot, and both goalies can be expected to see a decent share of time this season. The Red Wings wrap up their current three-game homestand against the Oilers on Sunday.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Between pipes Saturday

Oettinger will patrol the road crease in St. Louis on Saturday, Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars reports.

Oettinger is off to a good start, posting a 3-0-0 mark with a 3.24 GAA and a .905 save percentage. The 26-year-old netminder has won at least 30 games in four straight seasons and is well on his way to his fifth. St. Louis has scored 12 goals in four games.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

    Sabres' Alex Lyon: Starting Saturday

Lyon will be between the home pipes versus Florida on Saturday, according to Heather Engel of NHL.com.

Lyon will make his fifth straight start due to the absence of Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (lower body). Lyon finally picked up his first win of the season, stopping 33 shots in an 8-4 victory over Ottawa on Wednesday. He has a 1-3-0 record with a 3.05 GAA and a .912 save percentage. Florida has posted 2.50 goals per game this season.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Between pipes Saturday

Ullmark will patrol the home crease against the Islanders on Saturday, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Ullmark is coming off a 30-save performance in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over Seattle. However, he has surrendered 10 goals on 52 shots in his last two outings. Ullmark has a 2-2-0 record this season while stopping 94 of 109 shots. The Islanders have scored only 11 goals through four appearances this campaign.

  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Set to face Toronto

Daccord will defend the road net against the Maple Leafs on Saturday, Geoff Baker of the Kraken's official site reports.

Daccord will return to the crease after being a healthy scratch in Thursday's 4-3 shootout loss to Ottawa. He played in Seattle's first three games, stopping 78 of 85 shots en route to a 2-0-1 record. Toronto has won two straight contests, and the team has outscored the opposition by a 9-5 margin over that span.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Defending crease Saturday

Montembeault will be between the pipes for Saturday's home matchup against the Rangers, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

Montembeault stopped 18 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over Seattle. He has a 2-1-0 record this season while making 60 saves on 69 shots. Despite plenty of chances, it's been a struggle for the Rangers to score early in the 2025-26 campaign. The team has lit the lamp only 11 times through six outings.
