Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Busy in Saturday's loss
Merzlikins stopped 36 shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.
The Blue Jackets were out-shot 40-25 on the night, and Merzlikins was especially hung out to dry in the third period as he tried to protect a 3-2 lead -- Columbus managed only four shots on Jonathan Quick while surrendering 17. Merzlikins will get a much-needed rest as the NHL pauses for the 4 Nations Face-Off, as the 30-year-old netminder has gone 0-3-1 with a 3.79 GAA and .887 save percentage while starting four straight games.

Connor Ingram G | EDM
Hockey Club's Connor Ingram: Starting in Washington
Ingram will guard the road goal versus the Capitals on Sunday, according to Belle Fraser of The Salt Lake Tribune.
Ingram will get the second half of Utah's back-to-back after Karel Vejmelka played in Saturday's 7-3 loss to Carolina. The 27-year-old Ingram is coming off a 20-save effort in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over Columbus. He has a 9-7-4 record with a 3.16 GAA and an .885 save percentage through 20 appearances this season. Washington sits second in the league with 3.56 goals per game in 2024-25.

Thompson will patrol the home crease against Utah on Sunday, per Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post.
Thompson is coming off a 30-save performance in Tuesday's 6-3 win over Florida. He has a 24-2-4 record with two shutouts, a 2.18 GAA and a .923 save percentage through 30 appearances this season. Utah ranks 24th in the league with 2.78 goals per game in 2024-25 and lost 7-3 to Carolina on Saturday.

Jonathan Quick G | NYR
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Picks up win Saturday
Quick made 22 saves in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Blue Jackets.
The veteran netminder had no chance on any of the pucks that got past him, but after the Rangers found themselves in a 3-2 hole heading into the second intermission, Quick shut the door in the third period as his team rallied. He heads into the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off with an 8-5-2 record, 3.03 GAA and .900 save percentage over 18 outings, and if Igor Shesterkin hasn't fully recovered from his upper-body injury by the time the Rangers' schedule resumes, it could be Quick between the pipes in Buffalo on Feb. 22.

Felix Sandstrom G | BUF
Sabres' Felix Sandstrom: Returned to minors
Sandstrom was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Sunday.
Sandstrom was a healthy scratch in Saturday's 6-4 loss to Nashville after being James Reimer's backup in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Columbus. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen wasn't in the lineup versus the Blue Jackets but started against the Predators after recovering from a lower-body injury.

Jeremy Swayman G | BOS
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Makes 34 saves in loss
Swayman saved 34 of 38 shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Golden Knights.
Swayman failed to hold a 3-1 lead, allowing a goal with 34 seconds left in the second period and two more in the third. The regulation loss drops his record to 18-18-4, along with a 2.98 GAA and .898 save percentage in 40 games this season. Swayman already has a new career high in regulation losses in his first season as a true No. 1 option in the crease, but he's also on pace to easily surpass his career high of 44 appearances. With the Bruins in the mix for a playoff spot, Swayman should continue to see a large volume of opportunities in net during the stretch run following the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Sergei Bobrovsky G | FLA
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Cruises to win Saturday
Bobrovsky stopped 26 of 27 shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Senators.
Bobrovsky gave up the opening goal to Brady Tkachuk at 6:38 of the first period, but a four-goal second period lifted the Panthers to the win. This was Bobrovksy's fifth win over his last six outings, and he's allowed no more than two goals in any of those victories. In that span, he's been mostly sharing the goaltending duties with Spencer Knight, who has been pretty good himself lately. Bobrovsky's 23-12-2 with a 2.66 GAA and a .902 save percentage this season, but his ratios are a 2.35 GAA and .915 save percentage since the start of January. The Panthers' schedule resumes Feb. 22 with a home game versus the light-scoring Kraken.

David Rittich G | NYI
Kings' David Rittich: Good effort, poor result Saturday
Rittich stopped 25 of 26 shots in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Ducks.
Rittich had a poor showing in a shootout win over the Stars on Friday. He played better Saturday, but the results evened out, as he gave up two goals in this shootout to let the Ducks escape with a road win. Rittich has allowed just seven goals while going 1-1-1 across his last three contests. The 32-year-old is 12-11-1 with a 2.59 GAA and an .890 save percentage through 25 appearances this season, his most games played in any campaign since he saw action in 48 contests in 2019-20 with the Flames. Darcy Kuemper (personal) figures to be back in action when the Kings' schedule resumes Feb. 22 versus Utah.

Lukas Dostal G | ANA
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Superb in shootout win
Dostal stopped 43 of 44 shots in Saturday's 2-1 shootout win over the Kings.
Dostal extended his winning streak to four games with one of his best performances of the season. He came within 2:39 of a shutout before it was spoiled by Adrian Kempe late in the third period. Dostal has given up just eight goals during his winning streak, and he now has a career-high 15 wins in just 32 appearances. He's 15-13-4 with a 2.86 GAA and a .911 save percentage this season and should continue to split time with John Gibson following the 4 Nations Face-Off break. The Ducks' schedule resumes with a road back-to-back in Boston on Feb. 22 and Detroit on Feb. 23.

Dustin Wolf G | CGY
Flames' Dustin Wolf: Squanders two-goal lead
Wolf stopped 25 of 28 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kraken.
Wolf's pursuit of the 20-win threshold will have to wait until after the 4 Nations Face-Off. The 23-year-old took his fourth straight loss (0-3-1) Saturday, and he's allowed 14 goals in that span. He's now at 19-11-3 on the year, and he's added a strong 2.63 GAA and .912 save percentage through 33 appearances. Following the break, the Flames host the Sharks on Feb. 23 before embarking on a brutal six-game road trip that will have the Flames facing four of the top six teams in the Eastern Conference in a stretch that could make or break their playoff hopes.
