Drew Schock D | ANA
Ducks' Drew Schock: Starting season strong
Schock scored a goal and added an assist in the University of Michigan's 4-3 win over Bowling Green State University on Saturday.
Schock has four points over two games against BGSU in the first weekend of the season. The 19-year-old Schock had just 10 points in 38 games as a freshman last year. While his offense was a bit lacking last year, he remains in a good situation with a Wolverines team that is filled with talent.

Jake Sanderson D | OTT
Senators' Jake Sanderson: Exits Saturday's game
Sanderson (undisclosed) exited Saturday's game against Toronto and won't return to the contest.
Sanderson was questionable for Saturday's tilt, and he ultimately logged just 4:29 of ice time before his night was done. The 24-year-old appeared to aggravate an injury, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, so Sanderson's exit might be related to his previous issue.

Juuse Saros G | NSH
Predators' Juuse Saros: Tending twine Saturday
Saros will protect the home goal versus the Stars on Saturday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Saros lost his season debut Thursday versus the Wild, allowing three goals on 30 shots. The 31-year-old netminder could be set for a longer run of starts while Justus Annunen (undisclosed) is out. Saros will be backed up by Matt Murray in Saturday's contest, which sees the Stars come to Nashville on the second half of their back-to-back.
-
Justus Annunen G | NSH
Predators' Justus Annunen: Unavailable Saturday
Annunen (undisclosed) will miss Saturday's game against Dallas.
Annunen is day-to-day, so it remains to be seen if he'll be an option Tuesday in Toronto. Matt Murray was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Saturday and will serve as the backup goaltender versus the Stars. Juuse Saros will get the start. Annunen hasn't played yet this season, but he had a 10-12-2 record, 2.68 GAA and .906 save percentage in 28 regular-season appearances with Nashville in 2025-26.

Michael DiPietro G | BOS
Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Making first start of season
DiPietro will guard the road goal versus the Wild on Saturday, Jim McBride of The Boston Globe reports.
DiPietro will handle the second half of a back-to-back after Jeremy Swayman started Friday versus the Jets. This will be DiPietro's fifth career NHL game and just the second since the start of 2025-26. He is set to be Swayman's backup for the year, though DiPietro may struggle to see much time behind a clear starter.

Jet Greaves G | CLB
Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Expected starter Saturday
Greaves is slated to start at home against Utah on Saturday, according to Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch.
Greaves opened the season by stopping 23 of 26 shots in a 6-3 win over Buffalo on Thursday. He posted a 26-19-9 record, a 2.60 GAA and a .908 save percentage in 55 regular-season appearances for Columbus in 2025-26. Greaves should receive most of the Blue Jackets' starts again, while Cam Talbot will act as the understudy.

Philipp Grubauer G | SEA
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Slated to face Edmonton
Grubauer is slated to start on the road against Edmonton on Saturday, per Sound of Hockey.
Grubauer had a 2.65 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 32 outings with Seattle during the 2025-26 regular season. He's gearing up for his first start of the new campaign. Edmonton is missing Zach Hyman (undisclosed), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (lower body) and Matt Savoie (lower body), so its forward group is missing some noteworthy members. Despite that, Edmonton figures to be a difficult adversary after accumulating 14 goals across two games against Vancouver to open the campaign.

Sergei Bobrovsky G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Sergei Bobrovsky: Guarding goal Saturday
Bobrovsky will protect the home goal versus the Senators on Saturday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
Bobrovsky stopped 21 of 24 shots Tuesday versus the Canadiens in the Maple Leafs' season opener. He'll get a second chance between the pipes as he looks to settle into a rhythm as his new team's starter. If Bobrovsky struggles, Anthony Stolarz is a capable backup who could pick up extra work.
-
Devon Levi G | EDM
Oilers' Devon Levi: Getting start versus Seattle
Levi will protect the home goal versus the Kraken on Saturday, Bob Stauffer of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
Levi is set to start despite allowing seven goals on 22 shots in his season debut Thursday versus the Canucks. He did get the win in that contest, so it's possible he's being rewarded for the result more than the process. Tristan Jarry lost his start Opening Night, but he'll be a veteran option to fill in if Levi can't get on track.

Sebastian Cossa G | UTA
Mammoth's Sebastian Cossa: Expected to start Saturday
Cossa is slated to start on the road against Columbus on Saturday, per Catherine Bogart of the Mammoth's official site.
Karel Vejmelka started in Utah's season opener, posting a 15-save shutout over Chicago. Vejmelka is poised to get the bulk of the Mammoth's work this campaign, which leaves Cossa firmly in the No. 2 spot.
