Jake Sanderson D | OTT
Senators' Jake Sanderson: Battling lower-body issue
Sanderson departed Saturday's game versus the Maple Leafs due to a lower-body injury, Julian McKenzie of The Athletic reports.
Sanderson is set for further evaluation Sunday, and the team will know more in the next few days. The defenseman was never seemingly fully healthy after dealing with the injury throughout the preseason, but this is the first time the Senators have put a label on the issue. His status for Monday's game in Boston remains up in the air.

Andrei Vasilevskiy G | TB
Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Named game's first star
Vasilevskiy made 19 saves in a 3-1 win over the Capitals on Saturday.
The game was close -- the Bolts put in an empty-net goal late in the third to cement the win. Vasilevskiy earned the game's first star for his work. He's world class and is one of a small group that can carry your fantasy squad.

Jake Guentzel C | TB
Lightning's Jake Guentzel: First two points of season
Guentzel scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 3-1 win over Washington.
The Great Guentzel has averaged 84 points, including 39 goals, 29 power-play points and 218 shots over the last two seasons. That puts him squarely in the NHL's top-20 offensive players. Guentzel is poised to deliver similar numbers this season.
-
Brandon Hagel LW | TB
Lightning's Brandon Hagel: First two helpers of season
Hagel set up two goals Saturday in a 3-1 win over the Capitals. He had a game-high six shots.
The points were Hagel's first of the season. The winger has fired 442 shots over the last two seasons and scored at better than an 86-point pace in the same span. Hagel hasn't seen much playing time with Nikita Kucherov at even strength yet this year, but they hop the boards together on the top power-play unit. Expect great things from Hagel again this season.

Jacob Trouba D | SJ
Sharks' Jacob Trouba: Good to go
Trouba (illness) is expected to play Saturday versus the Kings, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
Trouba was tracking towards playing, but there was some doubt after he missed Friday's practice and Saturday's morning skate. The 32-year-old is slated to fill his usual second-pairing role.
-
Alexandre Carrier D | MON
Canadiens' Alexandre Carrier: Injured in Saturday's game
Carrier is being evaluated for an undisclosed injury sustained versus the Penguins on Saturday.
The Canadiens didn't reveal the nature of Carrier's injury. The 29-year-old defenseman has earned two points over two appearances so far this season. If he can't play Tuesday versus the Hurricanes, Adam Engstrom would likely draw into the lineup.
-
Rasmus Ristolainen D | PHI
Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Suffers injury Saturday
Ristolainen (undisclosed) exited and won't return to Saturday's game against Carolina.
Ristolainen had a goal, four shots, three hits and five blocks in two appearances in 2026-27 going into Saturday's action. The 31-year-old is expected to be re-evaluated Sunday. If he can't play Monday in Tampa Bay, then Simon Benoit will probably draw into the lineup.
-
Stian Solberg D | ANA
Ducks' Stian Solberg: Collects three points in Gulls win
Solberg scored a goal and added two assists in AHL San Diego's 5-1 win over San Jose on Saturday.
Solberg was the leader on offense in the Gulls' season opener. The defenseman wasn't exactly a standout last year with 24 points, a minus-16 rating and 102 PIM over 71 regular-season contests. Solberg is a first-round pick from 2024, so he should be able to tap into a bit more offense over time, though he'll need more development before he's a candidate for a call-up.

Matt Roy D | WAS
Capitals' Matt Roy: Leaves Saturday's game
Roy (lower body) won't finish Saturday's game versus the Lightning.
It's not immediately clear when Roy got hurt, but it'll be enough to keep him off the ice for the third period. He can be considered day-to-day until more information is available. The Capitals' next game is Wednesday at home versus the Penguins. Dylan McIlrath would enter the lineup if Roy has to miss time.

Atley Calvert C | PIT
Penguins' Atley Calvert: Nets both goals in loss
Calvert scored twice in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 3-2 loss to Springfield on Saturday.
Calvert is in his third AHL campaign. He posted 38 points in 70 regular-season appearances last season while on a minor-league deal, which was enough to earn the 23-year-old an entry-level contract. It'll still be a while before he gets his NHL debut, but he has shown he can score in the AHL.
