Maxim Tsyplakov RW | NJ
Islanders' Maxim Tsyplakov: Playing time remains thin
Tsyplakov has played in five of the Islanders' 11 games since the start of January after sitting out Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Sabres.
Tsyplakov has filled a rotational role on the fourth line. The Islanders have a full complement of 14 healthy forwards currently, leaving Tsyplakov in a tough spot to get playing time. He's gone 20 games without a point while getting scratched 23 times in that span, and Tsyplakov has been limited to one goal, 21 shots and a minus-10 rating over 26 outings in total.

David Spacek D | MIN
Wild's David Spacek: Sent back to AHL
Spacek has been reassigned to AHL Iowa by the Wild, the team announced Sunday.
Spacek played two games in the time he spent with the Wild, the first being his NHL debut. The 22-year-old didn't record a point, had a minus-1 rating, and posted one hit and two blocked shots in those two outings. He will head back to AHL Iowa, where he has three goals and 16 assists in 35 games.

Marc Gatcomb C | NYI
Islanders' Marc Gatcomb: Slipping out of lineup
Gatcomb was scratched for the second straight game in Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Sabres.
Gatcomb's role is shrinking with the return of Bo Horvat (lower body), who played Saturday. The Islanders have plenty of depth forwards, and Gatcomb hasn't stood out -- he's stuck in a 17-game point drought currently. The 26-year-old has put up just two points in 22 outings this season, adding 28 shots on net and 102 hits, but the Islanders may be reluctant to expose him to waivers.

Ryan McLeod C | BUF
Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Earns two helpers
McLeod logged two assists and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Islanders.
McLeod continues his strong January. He's up to four goals, eight assists and a plus-11 rating through 12 contests this month, though he's added just 12 shots on net, which raises a red flag for sustainability. The 26-year-old center is at 11 goals, 34 points, 61 shots and a plus-16 rating over 51 appearances while mainly playing on the second line.

Ross Colton C | COL
Avalanche's Ross Colton: Will miss another game
Colton (lower body) didn't take part in warmups and will miss Sunday's contest against the Maple Leafs, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post reports.
Colton will miss a second straight game due to an injury sustained Wednesday against the Ducks. His status remains day-to-day, so there's a chance that he could return Wednesday in Ottawa. The 29-year-old has five goals and 15 assists in 48 games on the season.

Devon Toews D | COL
Avalanche's Devon Toews: Remains unavailable
Toews (upper body) won't play against Toronto on Sunday, per Corey Masisak of The Denver Post.
He will miss his 10th straight game. According to Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette, Toews accompanied the Avalanche on the team's four-game road trip, which ends against Detroit on Saturday. Toews has contributed one goal, 13 points, 68 shots on net, 58 blocked shots and a plus-26 rating across 40 appearances this season.

MacKenzie Blackwood G | COL
Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Facing Leafs
Blackwood will start Sunday's game against the Maple Leafs, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports.
With Scott Wedgewood dealing with a personal issue, Blackwood is the undisputed No. 1 goaltender in Colorado, and the latter will start a second straight contest. The 29-year-old Blackwood is on a personal two-game losing streak, during which he has allowed 11 goals on 47 shots. The Maple Leafs have lost three straight games.

Suzuki extended his point streak to five games Saturday with a pair of power-play assists to help Cole Caufield secure his hat trick in the second period. With the helpers, Suzuki is up to 43 assists, 59 points, 111 shots on net, 40 hits and 44 blocks through 52 games this season. He has four multi-point performances during this five-game point streak.
