  • Cole Caufield RW | MON

Canadiens' Cole Caufield: Scores hat trick in loss

Caufield scored three goals and fired six shots on net in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Boston.

Caufield tallied the lone goal of the first period before he struck the back of the net twice in the second on two separate power plays. Overall, the 25-year-old winger has 29 goals, 53 points, 155 shots on goal and 35 hits through 52 games this season. He is currently on a five-game goal streak and has eight goals in that span. The young winger is well on his way to another career year and sits just 17 points shy of the 70 he totaled in 82 regular-season games a season ago. Caufield's rise to stardom gives him high-level fantasy value for the rest of the season.

  • Bruins' Charlie McAvoy: Hat trick of helpers Saturday

McAvoy dished out three assists, blocked two shots and recorded two hits in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Canadiens.

McAvoy played a hand in each of the final three goals scored by the Bruins, including when he slid the primary helper on Morgan Geekie's go-ahead goal in the back half of the third period. Overall, McAvoy is up to 29 assists, 33 points, 58 shots on goal, 52 hits and 78 blocks across 40 games this season. Since Dec. 31, the 28-year-old blueliner is tied for sixth among NHL defensemen with 14 points. He also ranks in the top 15 in blocked shots with 26. Boston's top blueliner remains a category-coverage machine when it comes to fantasy, giving McAvoy elite value down the stretch in most league formats.

  • Bruins' Fraser Minten: Tallies pair of points Saturday

Minten scored a goal and distributed an assist in Saturday's 4-3 win over Montreal.

Minten delivered the game-tying goal for the Bruins late in the contest before Morgan Geekie scored the goal-ahead tally 12 seconds later. With Saturday's twine finder, Minten has 13 goals, 25 points, 69 shots on net, 95 hits and 33 blocks across 52 games this season. The 21-year-old center has soared in his first full season with the Bruins, as he's carved out steady ice time as the team's third-line center. Since Dec. 31, he has seven goals, 12 points and four multi-point performances over his last 12 games. During this span, he has noticeably increased his shot attempts with 23 shots on goal, which is a third of his season total. Minten's all-around play style warrants him streaming value across standard fantasy leagues and makes him a must-roster player in many dynasty-league formats.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

    Flames' Dustin Wolf: Starting Sunday

Wolf will get the start in net Sunday against the Ducks, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Wolf has alternated starts with Devin Cooley over the last couple of weeks, and after Cooley started Saturday's game against the Penguins, it will be Wolf in net Sunday. The 24-year-old Wolf has had a tough season, sporting a 15-20-2 record, a 3.00 GAA and an .897 save percentage. He has allowed at least four goals in all but one of his seven January starts. The Ducks come into Sunday's game riding a six-game winning streak.

  • James Reimer G | OTT

Senators' James Reimer: Falls to 'Canes

Reimer stopped 15 shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Carolina.

The veteran netminder looked a little shaky on a Taylor Hall goal in the first period, as a fairly harmless-looking shot found its way through Reimer's five-hole, but he had little chance on the other three pucks that got past him. Reimer hasn't done much to stabilize the Sens' crease since joining the team, going 1-2-1 in four starts with a 3.32 GAA and .871 save percentage, but he'll continue to carry the load until Linus Ullmark (personal) is ready to get back into the lineup.

  • Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Two helpers in Ottawa

Chatfield picked up two assists in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Senators.

Both helpers came in the first period as the Hurricanes grabbed a 3-0 lead, as Chatfield had a hand in tallies by William Carrier and Taylor Hall. Chatfield led all Carolina blueliners with 19:40 of even-strength ice time Saturday as Shayne Gostisbehere (lower body) missed a fifth straight game, but the former hadn't taken much advantage of the extra workload so far. Saturday's assists were Chatfield's first points since Jan. 8.

  • Senators' Hunter Shepard: Sent to AHL

Shepard was assigned to AHL Belleville on Sunday, according to Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

Shepard's only NHL action so far this season came in relief against Detroit on Jan. 5, when he allowed two goals on 12 shots in 35:47 of playing time. He has a 6-6-1 record with a 3.45 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 13 AHL appearances this campaign.

  • Seth Jarvis C | CAR

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Two points including game-winner

Jarvis scored the game-winning goal and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Ottawa.

The 23-year-old winger gave Carolina a 2-0 lead early in the first period, ripping a shot past James Reimer from the faceoff dot to the netminder's left. Jarvis has been productive since returning from an upper-body injury in early January, and over the last 10 games he's racked up four goals and 10 points, including two goals and four assists with the man advantage.

  • Bruins' Viktor Arvidsson: Lights lamp in win

Arvidsson scored a power-play goal, fired four shots on net, recorded two blocked shots and dished out two hits in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Canadiens.

Arvidsson put Boston on the board less than two minutes into the second period to level the score at one apiece. The 32-year-old winger has been hot lately with five goals and 11 points over his last 12 games. Overall, he is up to 12 goals, 26 points, 112 shots on goal and 23 blocked shots through 40 games this season. His first year with the Bruins has been a large success as he's already one point shy of the 27 he had with Edmonton through 67 regular-season games a year ago. Arvidsson is on track to finish the campaign closer to the 45-point range and is a viable streaming option as long as he holds onto a spot in Boston's top six.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Sharp in Saturday's win

Bussi made 35 saves in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Senators.

The rookie netminder had his shutout spoiled by Tim Stutzle midway through the second period, but Bussi otherwise had an answer for everything Ottawa fired his way. Bussi has won three straight starts and six of his last seven, posting a stellar 1.72 GAA and .927 save percentage over that stretch while locking down the top job in the Carolina crease.
