  • Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: Keeps good times rolling

Nedeljkovic allowed one goal on 29 shots in Friday's 3-1 win over the Rangers.

This was Nedeljkovic's fifth straight win, and he's allowed two goals or less in four of those victories. Sam Carrick had the lone tally for the Rangers at 12:50 of the first period, but the Sharks had already racked up three goals. Nedeljkovic improved to 10-8-2 with a 2.87 GAA and an .899 save percentage through 23 appearances. He's been playing well while Yaroslav Askarov struggles -- the two are in a timeshare for now, but momentum is in Nedeljkovic's favor. The Sharks are off until Tuesday, when they begin a road trip in Vancouver.

  • Canucks' Marcus Pettersson: Slides assist in loss

Pettersson recorded an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and two blocked shots in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Devils.

The helper ended an eight-game slump for Pettersson. He was limited to 17:34 of ice time Friday, his lowest mark since Dec. 11 versus the Sabres, which was the last game before the Quinn Hughes trade. Pettersson has 10 points, 44 shots on net, 54 PIM, 43 hits, 83 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 51 appearances. He's in the first year of a six-year contract with a $5.5 million cap hit, but the 29-year-old probably won't fit the Canucks' competitive timeline since the team looks to be entering a full rebuild. He could be attractive to contending teams looking for a top-four blueliner with term, and just about any move would improve his fantasy outlook.

  • Canucks' Teddy Blueger: Converts on shorthanded rush

Blueger scored a shorthanded goal on two shots and added three hits in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Devils.

This was Blueger's second game back in the lineup after a three-month absence due to a lower-body injury. He's posted two goals, seven shots on net, 10 hits, three blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over four appearances in a campaign marred by injuries. Blueger should occupy a middle-six role moving forward, and he'll offer depth scoring with a bit of a physical pop.

  • Zeev Buium D | VAN

Canucks' Zeev Buium: Finds twine in loss

Buium scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Devils.

Buium netted a goal for the first time since his Canucks debut, which was also against the Devils. He's now at six points in 19 outings for Vancouver. He's produced 20 points (12 on the power play), 48 shots on net, 30 blocked shots and a minus-15 rating through 50 appearances when accounting for his time with the Wild to begin the campaign.

  • Brock Boeser RW | VAN

Canucks' Brock Boeser: Scores late in loss

Boeser scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Devils.

Boeser netted a goal with 1:12 left in the third period, but the Canucks couldn't find another to even the score. He's put up three goals and an assist over his last five outings. We've seen some bursts of offense from Boeser this season, but they've rarely lasted longer than a couple of weeks. He's at 12 goals, 25 points, 109 shots on net and a minus-30 rating across 49 appearances despite seeing regular top-six minutes.

  • Canucks' Linus Karlsson: Pair of points in loss

Karlsson scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Devils.

Karlsson had gone 10 games without a goal entering Friday, though he had five assists in that span. He got the Canucks on the board midway through the second period and then set up a Brock Boeser tally to get them within one late in the third period. The comeback came up short, but this was a positive outing for Karlsson, who continues to be a pleasant surprise in a bottom-six role. He's at 11 goals, 24 points, 76 shots on net, 62 hits, 26 PIM and a minus-5 rating over 48 appearances.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Concedes five goals in loss

Lankinen stopped 19 of 24 shots in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Devils.

Lankinen snapped a six-game winless stretch Wednesday versus the Capitals, but he wasn't able to get another victory in his next outing. The Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the second period and nursed the advantage to the end. Lankinen is down to 7-15-4 with a 3.45 GAA and an .884 save percentage over 27 appearances this season. The Canucks host the Penguins on Sunday.

  • Connor Brown RW | NJ

Devils' Connor Brown: Ends goal drought

Brown scored a power-play goal and went minus-2 in Friday's 5-4 win over the Canucks.

Brown had been limited to three helpers over the previous 15 games. He snapped the goal drought at 15:12 of the second period to put the Devils up 4-2. The 32-year-old winger has been decent in a middle-six role this season, earning 10 goals, 19 points, 60 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 44 outings. He doesn't tend to get a lot of power-play time -- this was his first power-play point since 2021-22, when he was with the Senators.

  • Devils' Lenni Hameenaho: Logs first two NHL points

Hameenaho scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, logged two hits and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-4 win over the Canucks.

This was Hameenaho's third career NHL game, and he was able to check off a bunch of firsts with the effort. He opened the scoring at 1:41 of the first period for his first tally, and he added his first assist on a Cody Glass goal in the second period. Hameenaho put up 21 points in 33 contests at the AHL level prior to his promotion, and it looks like the Devils are willing to give him a look in the bottom six for now.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Earns two power-play points in win

Hischier scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Friday's 5-4 win over the Canucks.

Hischier ended a three-game skid with the effort. He has three multi-point efforts over his last six outings. The 27-year-old center is up to 16 goals, 39 points (14 on the power play), 129 shots on net, 44 blocked shots, 39 hits and a minus-6 rating through 51 contests. Hischier's farther back from a point-per-game pace this season than he has been in the last three years, but he should still be able to reach the 60-point threshold.
