Ryan Shea D | PIT
Penguins' Ryan Shea: Puts up assist Wednesday
Shea registered an assist, four shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flames.
With both Erik Karlsson (lower body) and Kris Letang (upper body) out, Shea saw a larger power-play role in this contest. His helper came at even strength, as Shea set up Evgeni Malkin on the opening goal at 7:49 of the first period. The 28-year-old Shea snapped an 11-game point drought with the assist, which gives him 17 points, 44 shots on net, 60 blocked shots, 29 hits and a plus-16 rating over 49 appearances this season.

Jack St. Ivany D | PIT
Penguins' Jack St. Ivany: Notches pair of helpers
St. Ivany recorded two assists, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flames.
St. Ivany had been scratched Monday in Seattle, but he was back in the lineup for Kris Letang (upper body) in this contest. While his spot isn't secure, St. Ivany has done a decent job in a bottom-four role this season. He's at five assists, 16 shots on net, 38 hits, 20 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating across 15 appearances.

Yegor Chinakhov RW | PIT
Penguins' Yegor Chinakhov: Pots goal in win
Chinakhov scored a goal on two shots and went plus-3 in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flames.
All three members of the Penguins' second line scored in this contest. Chinakhov has meshed well with Thomas Novak and Evgeni Malkin lately. Through 11 outings with the Penguins, Chinakhov has five points, one shy of matching his total from 29 games with the Blue Jackets before a late December trade sent him to Pittsburgh. He has shown a little promise in the past, but Chinakhov's middling non-scoring production limits his effectiveness in fantasy to deeper formats.

Bryan Rust RW | PIT
Penguins' Bryan Rust: Tallies in win Wednesday
Rust scored a goal on three shots in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flames.
This was Rust's second goal in the last four games. The 33-year-old winger is a little lacking in consistency this month, earning four points over nine appearances in January so far. He's still putting together a solid season with 18 goals, 38 points, 121 shots on net, 50 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 45 outings overall. Rust is a fixture on the top line and first power-play unit for the Penguins, making him a safe choice in fantasy.

Tommy Novak C | PIT
Penguins' Thomas Novak: Earns two points in win
Novak scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, logged two PIM and went plus-3 in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flames.
Novak snapped a seven-game goal drought with his third-period tally. The 28-year-old forward has earned five points over his last four outings and should stick on the second line as long as his offense is steady. He's up to nine goals, 26 points, 74 shots on net, 20 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 49 appearances this season.

Evgeni Malkin C | PIT
Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Goal, assist in win
Malkin scored a goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-3 in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flames.
Malkin earned his second multi-point effort in the last four games. The 39-year-old has three goals and five helpers over his last eight outings, showing no rust after a month-long absence due to an upper-body injury. He's up to 11 goals, 37 points, 87 shots on net, 26 PIM and a plus-12 rating over 34 appearances this season, putting him on track to easily surpass the 50-point effort he had over 68 outings a year ago.

Stuart Skinner G | PIT
Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Earns win over Flames
Skinner stopped 18 of 19 shots in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flames.
Skinner picked up his third straight win and his fifth in six outings in January. The 27-year-old netminder also started consecutive games for the first time in his Penguins tenure, which suggests he may be pulling away from a timeshare with Arturs Silovs. On the season, Skinner is 17-12-4 with a 2.67 GAA and an .894 save percentage over 33 starts, but he's been better in Pittsburgh than he was in Edmonton. He will likely avoid a rematch with his former team, as Silovs could be between the pipes against the Oilers on Thursday in the second half of the back-to-back.

Matt Tomkins G | TB
Oilers' Matt Tomkins: Claims third shutout of season
Tomkins posted a 37-save shutout in AHL Bakersfield's 3-0 win over Colorado on Wednesday.
Tomkins has been excellent lately, earning five wins over his last seven games. His last two victories have come via shutout, and he's up to three shutouts on the season. Tomkins also has a 12-5-4 record with a 2.96 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 22 appearances.

Jan Mysak C | ANA
Ducks' Jan Mysak: Pots pair in AHL win
Mysak scored two goals in AHL San Diego's 5-3 win over Tucson on Wednesday.
Mysak has put together a decent season so far with nine goals and 11 helpers over 38 contests. He had been limited to one assist over the previous eight games. Mysak, a second-round pick of the Canadiens from 2020, has yet to make his NHL debut. He signed with the Ducks on a two-way contract for this season.

John Leonard LW | DET
Red Wings' John Leonard: Hat trick in AHL win
Leonard scored three goals in AHL Grand Rapids' 3-0 win over Milwaukee on Wednesday.
Leonard has five goals and an assist over his last four games. The 27-year-old has received a couple of looks in the NHL this season, in part thanks to a dominance at the minor-league level. He has 25 goals and 13 helpers over 28 outings with the Griffins. He has also netted eight game-winning tallies in the AHL.
