NHL Player News

  • Bradly Nadeau LW | CAR

Hurricanes' Bradly Nadeau: Three more points Wednesday

Nadeau scored two goals and added an assist in AHL Chicago's 6-5 overtime win over Cleveland on Wednesday.

Nadeau has racked up four goals and five assists during his four-game point streak. The forward continues to roll with 15 goals, 34 points and 92 shots on net over 28 appearances. Nadeau should continue to be a leading scorer for the Wolves while waiting for his next NHL opportunity.

  • Kings' Carter George: Nets goalie goal in OHL win

George stopped 28 of 30 shots and scored a goalie goal in OHL Sault Ste. Marie's 5-2 win over London on Wednesday.

George now has a memorable moment just four games into his time with the Greyhounds after he was traded from Owen Sound. He's allowed just five goals while winning all four of his starts so far. He's at a 14-9-2 record with a 2.84 GAA and a .904 save percentage through 26 appearances this season.

  • Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: Won't play Wednesday

Huberdeau (lower body) is set to miss Wednesday's game versus the Penguins.

It's not clear when Huberdeau sustained the injury, as he logged 17:02 of ice time versus the Devils on Monday. The 32-year-old hasn't missed time since he was out for the first five games of the season due to an undisclosed injury. His latest issue comes in the midst of an eight-game point drought, which he won't be able to snap until he's healthy again.

  • Kris Letang D | PIT

Penguins' Kris Letang: Absent from lineup

Letang (upper body) won't play Wednesday versus the Flames, Josh Yohe of The Athletic reports.

Letang will miss at least one game due to the injury. He was labeled a game-time decision, so it's possible his injury isn't too severe. Jack St. Ivany will likely draw into the lineup in a bottom-four role.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Not playing Wednesday

McTavish (upper body) is a late scratch for Wednesday's game versus the Avalanche.

McTavish's absence will thin out the Ducks' center group even more than it already is. He joins Leo Carlsson (thigh) on the shelf. Jansen Harkins will draw into the lineup, but Ryan Poehling may see a bigger boost in minutes to cover McTavish's absence.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Starting versus Flyers

Vejmelka will get the home start versus the Flyers on Wednesday.

Vejmelka has won his last six outings, allowing just 10 goals on 153 shots during his winning streak. The 29-year-old will face a slumping Flyers team that has scored 13 goals over the last six games, winning just once in that span.

  • Maple Leafs' Oliver Ekman-Larsson: Exits Wednesday's game

Ekman-Larsson (lower body) won't finish Wednesday's game versus the Red Wings.

Ekman-Larsson was hurt midway through the first period and didn't come back after that. The 34-year-old can be considered day-to-day for now. If he misses time, Philippe Myers or Matt Benning would fill in.

  • Flyers' Rodrigo Abols: Dealing with fractured ankle

Abols' injury is a fractured right ankle, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports Wednesday.

Abols could still return in time for the last month of the regular season, though that may depend on how the Flyers are performing at the time. In any case, the 30-year-old is likely to be out at least two months. He is on injured reserve and could be transferred to long-term injured reserve if the Flyers get into a cap crunch.

  • Flames' Cullen Potter: Sophomore season ends early

Potter will undergo season-ending surgery to address an upper-body injury, Gabriella Chernoff of SunDevilSource.com reports Tuesday.

Given the length of the NCAA season, his 3-4 month recovery timeline won't allow him to get back into action during 2025-26. The 19-year-old had 12 goals and 26 points over 24 outings for Arizona State University this season. The injury will also likely keep him in the collegiate ranks for another year, as the Flames probably won't want to have him jump up to the AHL after a lengthy absence.

  • Mammoth's Cameron Hebig: Receives first call-up

Hebig was called up from AHL Tucson on Wednesday.

Hebig will get his first NHL call-up after an electric start to the 2025-26 campaign. He's earned 15 goals and 18 assists over 35 contests this season, which already makes it his second-best output in the AHL. The 29-year-old forward is not a lock to play, but it's a possibility now that he's on the NHL roster.
