  • Penguins' Rutger McGroarty: Three-point game in AHL win

McGroarty scored twice and added an assist in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 8-0 win over Rochester on Saturday.

McGroarty saw some NHL time late in the regular season, closing out the year at six points in 24 games with Pittsburgh. He'll be with the Baby Pens for the length of their playoff run, but if they're knocked out early, he'll likely return to Pittsburgh as part of the Black Aces.

  • Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Logs AHL shutout

Murashov posted a 27-save shutout in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 8-0 win over Rochester on Saturday.

Murashov has four shutouts this season. He's up to 24-9-4 with a 2.20 GAA and a .919 save percentage over 38 appearances this season. Murashov has impressed and likely isn't too far from competing for an NHL job on a full-time basis.

  • Rangers' Brendan Brisson: Pots pair for Hartford

Brisson scored twice in AHL Hartford's 4-3 loss to Springfield on Saturday.

This was Brisson's first multi-point effort since March 17. He has 19 goals, 37 points and a minus-32 rating over 66 appearances this season. Brisson hasn't been able to get back to his peak levels from a couple of years ago. He'll be a restricted free agent this summer if he gets a qualifying offer.

  • Bruins' Simon Zajicek: Up from minors

Zajicek was recalled from AHL Providence on Saturday, per Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal.

Zajicek has a 2.44 GAA and a .915 save percentage in 21 regular-season outings with Providence in 2025-26. The 24-year-old netminder hasn't made his NHL debut. Zajicek gives the Bruins a third-string goaltender going into the playoffs in case Jeremy Swayman or Joonas Korpisalo is forced to miss time due to injury.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Sixth career playoff shutout

Andersen made 22 saves Saturday in a 2-0 win over Ottawa in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round.

It was Andersen's sixth career shutout in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Great Dane has a strong postseason pedigree with a 47-35-0 record, 2.37 GAA and .914 save percentage in 86 starts since 2013-14 (his first season in the NHL). Andersen had yet another injury-riddled regular season in 2025-26, but it appears he's going to get a shot to carry the Canes this postseason. Brandon Bussi, who had an outstanding first regular season in the NHL but has just eight pro playoff starts (all AHL) in his career, is at the ready on the bench.

  • Jackson Blake RW | CAR

Hurricanes' Jackson Blake: Off to big start in postseason

Blake had two assists in a 2-0 win against the Senators in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round on Saturday.

He and linemates Taylor Hall and Logan Stankoven accounted for all of the Carolina offense Saturday. Blake established new career regular-season offensive marks (22 goals, 31 assists, 174 shots) in 2025-26, and he is poised for big things as Carolina drives toward its goal of lifting Lord Stanley.

  • Hurricanes' Logan Stankoven: Rising to occasion on big stage

Stankoven delivered a goal and assist in a 2-0 win over Ottawa in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round on Saturday.

Stankoven's goal opened the scoring and stood as the winner; it came at 2:11 of the second period. He has a reputation for rising to the occasion on big stages, including for Team Canada at the World Juniors in 2022 and 2023, and in the WHL playoffs in the same years. Stankoven could surprise this postseason after establishing new regular-season career marks in goals (21), assists (23), power-play goals (four), power-play points (nine) and shots (166).

  • Taylor Hall LW | CAR

Hurricanes' Taylor Hall: Two points lead way in Game 1

Hall had a goal and an assist in a 2-0 win over Ottawa in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round on Saturday.

Hall ripped into the postseason with eight points, including three goals, in his last six regular-season games. His line was responsible for both of Carolina's goals in Saturday's playoff opener. Center Logan Stankoven had a goal and an assist, and Jackson Blake had two helpers. Carolina often receives criticism for its lack of scoring depth, but the second line was certainly dominant in Game 1.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Strong performance in Game 1 loss

Ullmark made 27 saves in Saturday's 2-0 loss against the Hurricanes in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round.

The first goal came on a relatively slow-moving shot that appeared to have been redirected in front of the net, allowing the puck to slip under Ullmark's left pad. The second goal came after the netminder froze on a save. The puck rolled off his shoulder and went in the net after it dropped behind Ullmark, and Taylor Hall poked it over the line. Ullmark is off to a strong start this postseason, but he will need his teammates to find twine.

  • Artem Zub D | OTT

Senators' Artem Zub: Suffers undisclosed injury

Zub sustained an undisclosed injury during Game 1 against Carolina on Saturday, but head coach Travis Green didn't have an update on his status after the game, per Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal.

Zub had three hits in 7:44 of ice time before exiting Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Hurricanes. The 30-year-old had five goals, 30 points, 57 PIM, 66 hits and 120 blocks in 81 regular-season outings while averaging 20:48 of ice time. If Zub can't play in Game 2 on Monday, then Lassi Thomson might draw into the lineup.
