  • Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Busy in shootout loss Tuesday

Skinner turned aside 39 shots in regulation and overtime and one of three shootout attempts in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Carolina.

The Penguins needed two late goals in the third period just to force overtime, as they were outshot 43-28 on the night, but their luck ran out in the shootout. Skinner is winless over his last five starts, going 0-1-4 with a 3.08 GAA and an .881 save percentage. He remains stuck on 19 wins for the season.

  • Mammoth's Nick Schmaltz: Signs eight-year extension

Schmaltz signed an eight-year, $64 million contract extension with Utah on Wednesday.

Schmaltz is in the final season of his seven-year, $40.95 million contract and had the option to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. He has 24 goals and 59 points in 65 outings in 2025-26. The 30-year-old's 24 goals are already a career high, topping his 23 markers during the 2021-22 regular season. He has a good chance of also surpassing his personal best of 63 points, which he established across 82 regular-season outings in 2024-25.

  • Bruins' Charlie McAvoy: Pots winner in OT on Tuesday

McAvoy scored the overtime winner in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Kings.

The 28-year-old blueliner took a feed from David Pastrnak and beat Darcy Kuemper with a backhander just 39 seconds into the extra frame. It was McAvoy's first game-winning goal of the season, and it continued a hot streak that has seen him rack up five goals and 21 points over the last 18 games.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Sharp in Tuesday's OT win

Swayman stopped 15 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Kings.

He lost his shutout bid with six minutes left in the third period on a Drew Doughty blast from the blue line. Swayman has won three straight starts and has only one regulation loss in his last eight outings, going 6-1-1 with a 2.23 GAA and a .920 save percentage.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Tough OT loss in Boston

Kuemper made 21 saves in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Bruins.

The veteran netminder was locked in a 0-0 goaltending duel with Jeremy Swayman until the third period. However, Kuemper wound up with the short end of the stick when Charlie McAvoy deked past him and tucked a backhand into the net 39 seconds into overtime. Kuemper has just one win in his last five outings, going 1-3-1 with a 3.84 GAA and .857 save percentage since the beginning of February.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Expected to start Wednesday

Ullmark is slated to start at home against Montreal on Wednesday, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

Ullmark has a 19-8-7 record, 2.84 GAA and .884 save percentage in 35 outings in 2025-26. He's won his past two starts while stopping 36 of 41 shots (.878 save percentage). He's had two other outings against Montreal this campaign, posting a 1-0-1 record, 2.97 GAA and .878 save percentage in those matches.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Slated to face Washington

Ersson is expected to start at home against Washington on Wednesday, per Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports.

Ersson is making his first start since Feb. 26, but he did stop the three shots he faced in a relief appearance Monday. The 26-year-old has a 9-10-5 record, 3.40 GAA and .859 save percentage in 26 outings in 2025-26. Washington is coming off a 7-3 victory over Calgary on Monday, which ended the Capitals' three-game losing streak and brought the team's record up to 32-26-7.

  • Jacob Fowler G | MON

Canadiens' Jacob Fowler: Up from minors

Fowler was recalled from AHL Laval on Wednesday.

Fowler has a 2.33 GAA and a .916 save percentage in 27 outings with Laval in 2025-26. He's also posted a 4-4-2 record, 2.82 GAA and .902 save percentage across 10 outings with the Canadiens this season. The Canadiens will be in the second half of a back-to-back when they play in Ottawa on Wednesday, so perhaps Fowler was summoned to play in that match.

  • Gabe Perreault RW | NYR

Rangers' Gabe Perreault: Adds two apples in win

Perreault recorded two assists, put two shots on net and served two PIM in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Flames.

Perreault secured a two-point night on New York's final two goals, which were both scored by his linemate, Alexis Lafreniere. The pair of helpers brought Perreault up to nine assists, 15 points, 46 shots on net, 20 hits and 16 blocked shots across 31 games this season. While the campaign has been a down year for the Rangers overall, the emergence of Perreault has been a positive takeaway. The 23rd overall selection from the 2023 NHL Entry Draft has taken a step up in March, where he has three multi-point performances across five games. If the 20-year-old winger continues to remain involved offensively, he'll likely be a staple in the Rangers' top six for years to come.

  • Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Slides two helpers Tuesday

Zibanejad supplied two assists and placed two shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-0 win over Calgary.

Zibanejad played a hand in the first of Alexis Lafreniere's three goals in the contest, with the opening goal occurring on a power play. The pair of apples brought Zibanejad up to 34 assists, 61 points, 172 shots on net, 84 hits and 42 blocked shots across 63 games played this season. Over his last six games, the 32-year-old center has five helpers, nine points and 18 shots on goal. He has led by example since Artemi Panarin's departure to Los Angeles via a trade, which has given Zibanejad a high ceiling in fantasy for the remainder of the season.
