Thomas Chabot D | OTT
Senators' Thomas Chabot: Ready to rock
Chabot (broken forearm) will return to the lineup versus Florida on Thursday, according to Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.
Chabot was deemed to be out of action for 4-8 weeks after he underwent surgery March 26, but he had a phenomenal recovery and will suit up just two weeks after his surgery. Chabot has seven goals and 24 assists over 55 contests this season. He is expected to play alongside Jordan Spence as well as see time on the second power play unit.

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Facing Lightning
Dobes will defend the home cage versus Tampa Bay on Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Dobes is on a six-game winning streak, allowing 11 goals on 212 shots (.948 save percentage). Overall, the 24-year-old goaltender is 28-8-4 with a 2.73 GAA and a .904 save percentage across 40 appearances this season. Ilya Sorokin G | NYI
Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: In goal Thursday
Sorokin will get the starting nod at home versus the Maple Leafs on Thursday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Sorokin will make his 12th straight appearance in the crease for the Islanders despite having lost each of his previous four outings. During his slump, the 30-year-old backstop has conceded at least three goals in all four appearances. Still, as long as the Islanders are in the hunt for a playoff spot, Sorokin could see both ends of an upcoming back-to-back versus the Senators and Canadiens on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Luke Hughes D | NJ
Devils' Luke Hughes: Done for season
Hughes (undisclosed) will undergo a procedure and will miss the remainder of the season, it was announced Thursday.
The Devils are out of the playoffs and with only four games remaining in the regular season, it was decided that Hughes would have the surgery and get a head start on being ready for training camp in September. Hughes ends the season with six goals and 29 assists, including 13 points on the power play, over 68 appearances in 2025-26, his worst performance in his three-year NHL career. Look for Hughes to have a better 2026-27 campaign, and he could surpass the 50-point mark, if he is able to stay healthy. Simon Nemec will replace Hughes on the top power-play unit for the remainder of the season.

Sherwood scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Oilers.
Sherwood has scored in consecutive contests for the first time since March 3-6. The 31-year-old winger remains in a middle-six role, but he's earned just 10 points over 23 outings with the Sharks since he was dealt from the Canucks. Celebrini scored a power-play goal on four shots and added two PIM in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Oilers.
Celebrini scored just 4:27 into the game, but Connor McDavid responded less than two minutes later. The 19-year-old Celebrini has seven goals and five assists over his last seven outings. For the season, the superstar is up to 42 goals, 108 points, 272 shots on net, 51 hits, 48 blocked shots, 44 PIM and a plus-5 rating over 77 appearances. He'll have to keep playing at an elite level to give the Sharks a chance to catch up in the playoff race.

Alex Nedeljkovic G | SJ
Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: Not up to challenge Wednesday
Nedeljkovic stopped 21 of 26 shots in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Oilers.
Nedeljkovic didn't get a lot of help in this one. The Sharks committed three penalties, and the Oilers' power play cashed in each time, which was the difference in the game. Nedeljkovic had won his last three games before this loss, which dropped him to 16-14-4 with a 2.95 GAA and an .893 save percentage over 38 appearances. He's been a little better than Yaroslav Askarov lately, but Askarov is likely to get the nod in a critical matchup versus the Ducks on Thursday. The Sharks are three points back of the Predators for the last wild-card spot after this loss, but they still have a game in hand.
