  • Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: First start since March 12

Lindgren will get the start Sunday against the Rangers, Mike Vogel of the Capitals' official site reports.

It's the first start in nearly a month for Lindgren, who hasn't seen action since March 12. Logan Thompson has started 10 straight games, but the Capitals haven't seen any back-to-backs over that time. With Sunday being the second leg of a back-to-back, Lindgren returns to the crease. The 32-year-old already has a pair of victories this season over the Rangers, who rank 24th in the NHL at 2.83 goals per game.

  • Hurricanes' Jordan Martinook: Won't play Sunday

Martinook (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup against Ottawa on Sunday.

With Martinook and Jordan Staal (undisclosed) unavailable for Sunday's matchup, Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Nicolas Deslauriers will suit up against the Senators. The 33-year-old Martinook has 12 goals, 26 points, 107 shots on net and 111 hits in 73 games this season.

  • Jordan Staal C | CAR

Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Out with undisclosed injury

Staal (undisclosed) won't play Sunday against the Senators, the Hurricanes announced.

This is just the fourth game that Staal will have missed this season, with the prior three all coming in November. The 37-year-old has had a great season so far, as he's one goal away from his first 20-goal regular season since the 2015-16 campaign. Expect Jesperi Kotkaniemi to work his way back into the lineup with Staal out of action.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Tending twine Sunday

Andersen will guard the road goal against Ottawa on Sunday, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

Andersen will get the second half of Carolina's back-to-back after Brandon Bussi played in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Islanders. The 36-year-old Andersen has a 14-13-5 record in the 2025-26 campaign with a 3.09 GAA and an .871 save percentage through 32 appearances. Ottawa sits 10th in the league with 3.28 goals per game this season.

  • Flames' Brennan Othmann: Loaned to AHL affiliate

Othmann was assigned to AHL Calgary on Sunday.

Othmann had one goal, one assist, two shots on net and four hits over his first two appearances with the Flames. However, he was a healthy scratch for the last two games. He could get another look with the big club before the end of the regular season.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Chance for rebound Sunday

Ullmark will start in goal Sunday against the Hurricanes, Julian McKenzie of The Athletic reports.

After a tough start Saturday in which he allowed four goals on 23 shots against the Wild, Ullmark will get right back between the pipes Sunday in the second half of the weekend back-to-back. The 32-year-old is 24-12-8 on the season with a 2.84 GAA and an .886 save percentage. This will be Ullmark's first start of the season against the Hurricanes, who rank fourth in the NHL at 3.51 goals per game.

  • Canucks' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Nabs first helper since return

Joseph logged an assist, three hits and two PIM in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Mammoth.

Joseph has played in six of seven games since he returned from an upper-body injury that cost him nearly three weeks. The 26-year-old defenseman will likely close out the campaign in a third-pairing role, offering minimal fantasy upside. He's picked up six points, 21 shots on net, 24 blocked shots, 18 hits and a minus-16 rating across 30 outings this season.

  • Filip Hronek D | VAN

Canucks' Filip Hronek: Picks up two power-play assists

Hronek notched two power-play assists, three shots on goal, two blocked shots, two hits, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Mammoth.

Hronek has earned seven assists over his last seven outings, and six of them have come on the power play. The 28-year-old defenseman remains a strong all-around option, aside from an abysmal plus-minus rating that comes from playing big minutes on the league's worst team. Hronek has produced eight goals, 46 points, 119 shots on net, 123 hits, 97 blocked shots and a minus-19 rating through 76 appearances. He needs three more points to establish a new career high.

  • Jake DeBrusk LW | VAN

Canucks' Jake DeBrusk: Keeps doing work on power play

DeBrusk scored a power-play goal on three shots in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Mammoth.

This is not a recording -- DeBrusk has a power-play tally in three straight games, and his last five goals have all come with the man advantage. The winger is still a risky fantasy option, but managers may want to consider him while his offense is rolling. He's scored 16 of his 19 goals and earned 21 of his 38 points on the power play this season while adding 198 shots on net, 62 hits, 31 blocked shots and a minus-31 rating over 75 appearances.

  • Marco Rossi C | VAN

Canucks' Marco Rossi: Pots 10th goal of campaign

Rossi scored a power-play goal on two shots and went minus-4 in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Mammoth.

Rossi reached the 10-goal mark on the play, though that's not great considering he had hit 20 tallies in each of the previous two seasons. The 24-year-old center has had some good moments in a second-line role for the Canucks, but the overall team situation remains tough to get excited about. He's at 31 points, 59 shots on net, 41 hits and a minus-25 rating over 44 appearances between the Canucks and the Wild this season, putting him on a per-game pace similar to previous campaigns.
