  • Sabres' Mattias Samuelsson: Expected to play Wednesday

Samuelsson (illness) is expected to be in the lineup Wednesday versus the Bruins.

Samuelsson participated in the Sabres' morning skate, so it's not much of a surprise that he's able to play in this contest. He'll be in a top-pairing role alongside Rasmus Dahlin. Samuelsson has three helpers and seven blocked shots over his last four games.

  • Tanner Pearson LW | BUF

Sabres' Tanner Pearson: Sitting out Wednesday

Pearson (lower body) won't be in the lineup Wednesday versus the Bruins.

Pearson missed five straight games due to an injury. However, he is off the team's injury report, which indicates he is available to play. The 33-year-old winger is likely to fill a bottom-six role once he returns to action. His next chance to draw in is Friday versus the Red Wings.

  • Joseph Woll G | TOR

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Making start Wednesday

Woll will protect the home goal versus the Rangers on Wednesday, Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun reports.

Woll was busy in his last start, stopping 39 of 44 shots in a loss to the Senators. The 27-year-old Woll has lost five of his last six outings, going 1-3-2 with 20 goals allowed on 219 shots in that span. The Rangers have scored just 10 goals over their last five games.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: In goal against Bruins

Luukkonen will protect the home goal versus the Bruins on Wednesday, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.

Luukkonen is set for his turn in the Sabres' goalie rotation. He's won six of his last seven outings with a 2.01 GAA and a .930 save percentage in that span, which includes a game in which he allowed seven goals. The Bruins are in the second half of a back-to-back, and they've scored 19 goals over their last six games while winning three of them.

  • Bruins' Joonas Korpisalo: Set to start Wednesday

Korpisalo will guard the road goal versus the Sabres on Wednesday, Kevin Paul Dupont of The Boston Globe reports.

Korpisalo will handle the second half of a back-to-back after Jeremy Swayman was in goal for Tuesday's loss to the Maple Leafs. Korpisalo is 1-1-3 with 20 goals allowed on 166 shots (.880 save percentage) in his last five outings, so facing a team as strong as the Sabres makes him a risky play in fantasy.

  • Red Wings' Jacob Bernard-Docker: Staying with Detroit

Bernard-Docker signed a two-year, $3.2 million contract extension with the Red Wings on Wednesday.

Bernard-Docker will nearly double his yearly pay on his new deal. The 25-year-old has gotten into 55 games for the Red Wings, but he has just four assists to go with 83 blocked shots, 58 hits and a plus-5 rating while mainly featuring on the third pairing. The extension suggests the Red Wings see him as an NHL player, but he may not be in the lineup on a full-time basis in 2026-27.

  • Lightning's Victor Hedman: Taking leave of absence

Hedman (personal) is taking a temporary leave of absence, the Lightning announced Wednesday.

Hedman missed Tampa Bay's past three games due to an illness, which has led to Emil Lilleberg playing regularly. Hedman has a goal and 17 points in 33 appearances in 2025-26. He will regain his top-four role once he's ready to return.

  • Daniil But LW | UTA

    Mammoth's Daniil But: Recalled Wednesday

But was called up from AHL Tucson on Wednesday.

But has three goals and seven points in 28 outings with the Mammoth this season. He also has 16 goals and 33 points across 34 minor-league appearances in 2025-26.

  • Blues' Otto Stenberg: Goal, fight in win

Stenberg scored a goal, added two hits and logged five PIM in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Capitals.

Stenberg fought Ryan Leonard in the second period. The 20-year-old Stenberg then had the last laugh with a third-period tally to stretch the Blues' lead to 2-0. The rookie forward hasn't found consistent offense in a bottom-six role yet, earning nine points, 22 shots on net, 42 hits and a plus-4 rating over 24 appearances. His fight was his first trip to the sin bin in the NHL.

  • Sharks' Vincent Desharnais: Picks up assist Tuesday

Desharnais notched an assist and five hits in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Predators.

Desharnais missed one game due to an upper-body injury. The 29-year-old defenseman is back in the lineup in a bottom-four role now, giving him minimal appeal in fantasy. He's earned just six points with 25 shots on net, 77 hits, 68 blocked shots and 60 PIM over 41 outings this season, though that doubles his point total from 51 contests a year ago.
