  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Plays hero Thursday

Bedard scored a goal on two shots and added a power-play assist in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Mammoth.

This outing gave Bedard two goals and five assists across six games in March. The superstar center is up to 27 goals, including four game-winners, as well as 35 assists, 172 shots on net, 38 PIM and a minus-6 rating through 52 appearances. Bedard is now just five points shy of matching his total from 82 contests a year ago.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Almost no help from teammates

Gibson made 24 saves in a 4-1 loss to the Lightning on Thursday. He allowed three goals.

Gibson did his part, but his mates faced arguably the best netminder in the league and a team bent on blocking shots. They couldn't buy goals. Gibson is 1-3-0 in his last four starts. It includes one shutout and nine goals allowed. Overall, the Wings have lost four of their last five games (1-3-1), but they remain in the first Wild Card spot with 79 points.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Earns overtime win

Knight stopped 29 of 31 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Mammoth.

Knight snapped a four-game skid with this performance, which was also his return from missing three contests due to an illness. The 24-year-old improved to 17-18-8 with a 2.61 GAA and a .909 save percentage through 43 appearances this season. Now that he's healthy, Knight is likely to handle a majority of the starts for the Blackhawks. They wrap up this brief road trip in Vegas on Saturday.

  • Lightning's Nikita Kucherov: Hits 1,100 point plateau in win

Kucherov put up two assists in a 4-1 win over Detroit on Thursday.

Kucherov has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) during a four-game streak. He reached the 1,100 point plateau with the points; he did it in 863 career games. Kucherov is the 14th player born outside of North America to reach the 1,100-point milestone and the fourth fastest on that list to do it. He's in heady company behind Peter Stastny (793 games), Jari Kurri (824 games) and Jaromir Jagr (825 games).

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Twelve points in last nine games

Point put up two assists in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings.

Point has 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in his past nine games, all since the Olympic break. He has 42 points, including 26 assists, and 96 shots in 46 games this season.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Entering Brodeur territory

Vasilevskiy made 24 saves Thursday in a 4-1 win over the Red Wings.

The win was his 30th this season. Vasilevskiy became the second goaltender in NHL history to record nine straight 30-win seasons. The first to do it was Martin Brodeur, who delivered 12 consecutive 30-win seasons from 1995-96 to 2007-08. Vasilevskiy has often been viewed as Brodeur's closest modern counterpart, but he has a long way to go to approach Brodeur's win totals and longevity.

  • Wyatt Kaiser D | CHI

Blackhawks' Wyatt Kaiser: Status uncertain after late exit

Kaiser (upper body) left Thursday's game versus the Mammoth late in the third period, and his status for Saturday versus the Golden Knights is up in the air, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Kaiser appeared to sustain an upper-body injury. Given how late it was in the game when he left, the lack of an update comes as no surprise. If he can't play Saturday, Ethan Del Mastro will draw into the lineup.

  • Lightning's Jake Guentzel: Closing in on another 30-goal year

Guentzel scored twice Thursday in a 4-1 win over Detroit.

One came on the power play; the other went into an empty net. Guentzel has six points (three goals, three assists) in his last six games (20 shots). He is one goal from his sixth 30-goal campaign. Overall, Guentzel has 69 points (29 goals, 40 points) and 174 shots in 64 games this season.

  • Lightning's Gage Goncalves: Three goals in last two games

Goncalves scored twice Thursday in a 4-1 win over Detroit. He fired five shots.

Both of his goals came in the third period. His second stood as the winner. Goncalves has three goals in two games since his return from injury. He also has six shots, five hits and three blocks in that span. Goncalves has 10 goals and 13 assists in 56 games; both are career marks.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Goals in back-to-back games

Jankowski scored the Hurricanes' only goal in a 3-1 loss to St. Louis on Thursday.

Jankowski intercepted a Blues' pass in the neutral zone, made a move around the defender in the right circle, and he then roofed a shot over Jordan Binnington's blocker as he cut to the ice. Jankowski has a goal in each of his last two games. He has seven goals, nine assists and 47 shots in 52 games this season.
