  • Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Absent from practice

Sundqvist (upper body) didn't participate in Tuesday's practice after he underwent surgery during the Olympic break, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Sundqvist could receive clearance to play as early as Monday, meaning his availability for the Blues' matchup against Seattle on Feb. 26 probably isn't in jeopardy. He has produced four goals, 14 points, 34 shots on net, 24 blocked shots and 53 hits across 43 appearances this season.

  • Martin Necas C | COL

Avalanche's Martin Necas: One of each against Denmark

Necas tallied a goal, recorded an assist and fired five shots on net in Czechia's 3-2 win over Denmark in Olympic qualification round play Tuesday.

Necas stayed hot in Tuesday's qualifying matchup with his third multi-point outing of the Olympics. He struck the back of the net on a power play early in the second period to give Czechia the first goal of the game before he later helped out on the team's second goal. With the two-point outing, Necas is up to three goals, four assists, seven points and a plus-one rating across four Olympic appearances. The star forward will likely need to post another multi-point game if Czechia is to advance past Canada in the quarterfinals Wednesday.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Falls short in qualifier

Andersen stopped 28 of 31 shots on net in Denmark's 3-2 loss to Czechia in Olympic qualification round play Tuesday.

Despite keeping Denmark's net tidy in the first and third periods, Andersen allowed three goals in the second period, which would ultimately be enough for Czechia to advance to the quarterfinals. The 36-year-old netminer finished the Olympics with a 1-2-0 record, a .913 save percentage and a 2.75 GAA across three appearances. The numbers he posted were a step up from his current stats with the Carolina Hurricanes, which could give the veteran netminder a morale boost headed into the last stretch of the NHL regular season.

  • Oilers' Matt Savoie: Sent down to minors

Savoie was loaned to AHL Bakersfield on Tuesday.

With NHL action at a standstill for the Olympic break, the Oilers will give the young Savoie some extra game reps with the move to Bakersfield. The move will send the 22-year-old forward to the AHL for the first time this season, where he posted 19 goals, 35 assists and 54 points across 66 regular-season games in 2024-25. He has held his own at the NHL level this season with nine goals, nine assists, 79 shots on net and 28 blocked shots across 58 outings. Savoie will likely return to the Oilers before the team resumes regular-season play Feb. 25 in Anaheim.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Redeems struggles with win

Dostal turned aside 22 of 24 shots on net in Czechia's 3-2 win over Denmark in Olympic qualification round play Tuesday.

After a tough pair of outings to begin his time at the Olympics, Dostal bounced back in a big way to help push Czechia through to the Olympic quarterfinals. The 25-year-old netminder is up to a 1-1-1 record, an .879 save percentage and a 3.65 GAA across three appearances at the Olympics. Czechia has favored the young netminder over Dan Vladar and Karel Vejmelka for the majority of the tournament, giving Dostal a solid chance to grab the start in the team's quarterfinals matchup against Canada on Wednesday.

  • Canucks' Aku Koskenvuo: Up from AHL

Koskenvuo was recalled from AHL Abbotsford on Tuesday under emergency conditions.

Koskenvuo will participate in practices with Vancouver until Kevin Lankinen returns from representing Finland at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

  • John Carlson D | ANA

Capitals' John Carlson: Set for return after Olympics

Carlson (lower body) is expected to return to the lineup following the Olympic break, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports Tuesday.

After leaving the Capitals' matchup Feb. 5 due to a lower-body injury, Carlson was spotted skating in a regular jersey during Tuesday's morning skate. Prior to the Olympics, the 36-year-old blueliner posted 10 goals, 46 points, 115 shots on net and 84 blocked shots across 55 games this season. With head coach Spencer Carbery indicating that Carlson should be good to go, the veteran defenseman will likely return to his usual role on the team's top defensive pairing at even strength following the Olympic break.

  • Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Practices, feels good to go

Lindgren (lower body) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice and feels ready to return to the lineup, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.

Lindgren sat out four straight games before the Olympic break. However, he is trending toward being available to suit up in Washington's home matchup against Philadelphia on Feb. 25. Assuming he is good to go, Lindgren will come off the injured reserve list, and the Capitals will probably return Garin Bjorklund to AHL Hershey.

  • Tim Stutzle LW | OTT

Senators' Tim Stutzle: Two helpers against France

Stutzle notched two assists, one on the power play, in Germany's 5-1 win over France in Olympic qualification round action Tuesday.

Both helpers came in the first period as Germany jumped out to a 3-0 lead, with Stutzle having a hand in tallies by Leon Draisaitl and JJ Peterka. Stutzle has an impressive four goals and six points through four games in the tournament, but the Senators star may need to find another gear Wednesday if Germany is going to get past Slovakia in the quarterfinals.

  • Oilers' Josh Samanski: Two points in Olympic win

Samanski scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Germany's 5-1 win over France in Olympic qualification round play Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Oilers prospect picked up his first points of the tournament while working on the power play with NHL teammate Leon Draisaitl. Samanski will look to carry that momentum into Wednesday's quarterfinals tilt against Slovakia.
