Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Three-point effort in German win
Draisaitl scored a goal and added two assists in Germany's 5-1 win over France in Olympic qualification round play Tuesday.
The Oilers star opened the scoring early in the first period with a power-play tally, then helped set up goals by Josh Samanski and Nico Sturm in the third, with Samanski's strike also coming on the man advantage. Draisaitl has carried Germany into Wednesday's quarterfinals with two goals and six points through four games, but a dangerous Slovakia squad stands between him and a chance at an Olympic medal.

Maple Leafs' Morgan Rielly: Ready for return following Olympics
Rielly (upper body) was deemed "good to go" by head coach Craig Berube, Anna Dua reports Tuesday.
Rielly exited Toronto's contest Jan. 31 early due to an upper-body injury, which would keep him sidelined for the team's last two games prior to the Olympic break. The 31-year-old blueliner has 24 assists, 31 points, 106 shots on net and 74 blocked shots across 54 games this season. Once NHL action is back in full swing, Rielly will likely return to his usual role on the team's top defensive pairing and first power-play unit.

Blackhawks' Wyatt Kaiser: Won't be ready following break
Kaiser (lower body) won't play against Nashville on Feb. 26, per Tracey Myers of NHL.com on Tuesday.
Kaiser will need additional time following the Olympic break to recover after being injured in a 4-0 loss to Columbus on Feb. 4. He has earned five goals, 12 points, 58 shots on net, 47 blocked shots and 36 hits across 57 appearances this season.

Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Cruises into quarterfinals
Grubauer stopped 30 shots in Germany's 5-1 win over France in Olympic qualification round action Tuesday.
Pierre-Edouard Bellemare spoiled his shutout bid early in the second period, but otherwise Grubauer had little trouble stifling the French attack in a big win for Germany. The Kraken netminder is 2-1 in three starts during the tournament, having allowed six goals on 91 shots (.934 save percentage), and Grubauer will need to be at his best Wednesday in the quarterfinals against Slovakia.

Devils' Timo Meier: Two helpers in elimination win
Meier pocketed two assists, one on the power play, in Switzerland's 3-0 win over Italy in Olympic qualification round play Tuesday.
The 29-year-old winger had a hand in tallies by Philipp Kurashev in the first period and Nico Hischier in the third. Meier's had a strong tournament, racking up three goals and six points in four games, but the Swiss face a much tougher test in the quarterfinals Wednesday when they take on Finland.

Mammoth's Maveric Lamoureux: Called up to majors
Lamoureux was recalled from AHL Tucson on Tuesday.
After spending over two months in the AHL, Lamoureaux will rejoin the Mammoth for his second stint in the NHL this season. Across 40 games with Tucson this season, the 22-year-old blueliner has 11 assists, 14 points and 61 shots on goal. The young defenseman will likely have to impress Utah's coaching staff before NHL action resumes if he is to secure a spot on the roster following the Olympic break.

Devils' Nico Hischier: Leads Swiss into quarterfinals
Hischier scored a goal and added two assists in Switzerland's 3-0 win over Italy in Olympic qualification round action Tuesday.
The Devils center set up Philipp Kurashev for what proved to be the game-winner just 79 seconds into the first period, then helped provide insurance tallies on two Swiss power plays. Hischier's own third-period goal was his first of the tournament, and through four games, he's produced four points. He'll likely need to come up big again if Switzerland's going to have a chance of upsetting Finland in the quarterfinals Wednesday.

Villalta was recalled from AHL Tucson on Tuesday.
Villalta has posted a 14-7-3 record with a 3.03 GAA and an .897 save percentage across 24 AHL appearances this season. Once Karel Vejmelka returns from the 2026 Winter Olympics, Villalta will probably head back to the minor-league level.

Mammoth's Dmitri Simashev: Recalled from minors
Simashev was brought up from AHL Tucson on Tuesday.
Simashev has generated seven goals and 23 points in 25 AHL outings during the 2025-26 campaign. He has picked up one assist, 23 shots on goal, 26 blocked shots and eight hits in 24 NHL appearances this season.

But was recalled from AHL Tucson on Tuesday.
But has notched eight goals and 17 points in 20 minor-league appearances this season. The 21-year-old forward has also earned three goals, four assists, 43 shots on net, 18 blocked shots and 16 hits across 28 NHL games during the 2025-26 campaign.
