  • Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Tallies in Thursday's win

Johnston scored a goal on four shots and added three hits in Thursday's 5-4 shootout win over the Golden Knights.

Johnston has three goals and two assists over his last five games. The 22-year-old continues to produce steady offense in a top-six role for the Stars as one of the team's most consistent forwards. He's up to a total of 28 goals, 58 points, 139 shots on net, 40 blocked shots, 20 hits and a minus-3 rating over 54 appearances. Johnston should be able to best his career-high marks of 33 goals and 71 points from 82 regular-season outings last year.

  • Stars' Mavrik Bourque: Two goals in shootout win

Bourque scored twice on four shots in Thursday's 5-4 shootout win over the Golden Knights.

Bourque snapped a three-game dry spell. His goals came 5:30 apart during the middle of the second period, helping the Stars build a 4-1 lead by the end of that frame. He's now at 10 goals, 20 points, 91 shots on net, 35 hits and a minus-3 rating across 54 appearances this season. Bourque is one goal shy of matching his total from 73 regular-season outings last year.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Nabs shootout win

Oettinger stopped 17 of 21 shots in Thursday's 5-4 shootout win over the Golden Knights.

Oettinger picked up his fourth straight win, but it wasn't pretty. He squandered a 4-1 lead during the third period, but he was able to get back on track in overtime and the shootout. Oettinger is up to 21-10-4 with a 2.69 GAA and a .900 save percentage over 35 starts this season. This was his sixth start in seven games, so it wouldn't be surprising if Casey DeSmith got the nod for one of the Stars' three remaining contests before the Olympic break.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Point in each of last two games

Bedard scored a goal Thursday in a 6-2 loss to Pittsburgh.

The star center, who has 50 points in 41 games, has struggled to get in a groove since his return from injury Jan. 9. Bedard has two goals and four assists in his last 10 games (37 shots). He does have a point in each of his last two games (one goal, one assist), as well as 12 shots, so a scoring burst feels imminent.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Beyond busy in loss

Soderblom made 38 saves in a 6-2 loss to the Penguins on Thursday.

Soderblom is 1-2-1 in four starts in January; he has allowed 14 goals in that span, including 11 in the two regulation losses. The Hawks are scuffling right now, and Soderblom should be left on the wire or your bench until the team pulls up its proverbial socks.

  • Canucks' Teddy Blueger: Nets another shortie

Blueger scored a shorthanded empty-net goal on two shots in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Ducks.

Blueger has scored three times over five games since he returned from a lower-body injury. The 31-year-old has brought some stability to the Canucks' bottom six, though the team's results remain mixed even with him in the lineup. Blueger is up to four goals (two shorthanded), 14 shots on net and 17 hits over seven appearances this season.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Secures 10th win of season

Silovs made 18 saves in a 6-2 win over Chicago on Thursday.

It was Silovs' 10th win of the season. He is 6-1-2 in his last eight starts, including wins over Montreal, Edmonton and Detroit. Silovs in a time share with Stuart Skinner, who has put up a 7-2-0 record in his last nine games. He's a solid activation in dailies.

  • Drew O'Connor LW | VAN

Canucks' Drew O'Connor: Breaks deadlock Thursday

O'Connor scored a goal in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Ducks.

O'Connor's goal midway through the third period opened the scoring and stood as the game-winner. The 27-year-old has three goals and an assist over his last six games despite primarily playing in a bottom-six role. He's up to 13 goals, 21 points, 78 shots on net, 41 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 54 appearances. O'Connor remains on pace to challenge his career high of 33 points, set in 79 games with Pittsburgh in 2023-24.

  • Penguins' Ben Kindel: Joins impressive company with goal

Kindel scored a goal and an assist in Pittsburgh's 6-2 win over Chicago on Thursday.

Kindel has four points in his last two games. He had two goals Sunday. He is now the third 18-year-old to score in consecutive games for the Penguins in the past 35 years -- the other two being Sidney Crosby (seven times in 2005-06) and Jordan Staal (four times in 2006-07). Kindel has 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 49 games this season. That puts him in a tie for seventh in the NHL in the rookie scoring chase.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Makes brief appearance

Lankinen stopped the lone shot he faced in 2:11 of ice time in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Ducks.

Lankinen started the second period as Nikita Tolopilo had to be cleared by the concussion spotter following some head contact late in the first. The 30-year-old Lankinen has lost his last three starts, allowing 11 goals on 55 shots in that span. With Tolopilo showing improved play recently, it's possible the Canucks' crease could become a timeshare. Neither goalie is a great option in fantasy at this time, as they're backstopping a team that has struggled to pick up wins all season.
