Canzone has been battling a minor hamstring issue over the last week. He typically serves as the designated hitter anyway, and that's where he slotted in Monday. He has gone 12-for-46 (.261) with five homers and nine RBI over his last 15 contests. For the season, the 28-year-old has batted .273 with an .899 OPS, 13 homers, 34 RBI, 30 runs scored, 13 doubles, one triple and one stolen base across 219 plate appearances. He should continue to see a strong-side platoon role at DH, though Canzone has also been in the lineup against the last two and three of the last four southpaws the Mariners have faced.

Canzone exited the contest in the bottom of the sixth frame after hustling down the line on the groundout. The 28-year-old grabbed at his right leg after crossing first base, and it is now understood that he is dealing a hamstring injury. Canzone's strong June continued with his fifth multi-hit effort of the month. He's also clubbed four homers while going 18-for-43 (.419) over 15 contests this month. While the injuries are piling up in the Mariners' outfield, Canzone continues to primarily work as the designated hitter, though he started the previous two games in right field. He's now batting .293 with a .940 OPS, 11 homers, 31 RBI, 26 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple and one stolen base over 189 plate appearances.
