Athletics' Jamie Arnold: Adds to impressive arsenal
Arnold expanded his repertoire at Driveline this winter, adding a cutter and a kick changeup, Jesus Cano of Baseball America reports.
The No. 11 pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft, Arnold slipped to the Athletics and they swooped in and added the 6-foot-1 southpaw. Arnold already had an excellent track record and pitch mix, and now he boasts a pair of changeups, as he already had a strong splitter. His mid-90s fastball and monster mid-80s slider are Arnold's go-to offerings, but now he has even more weapons at his disposal. Arnold said "this is the best I've ever felt," which is hyperbole, but at least it's good to know he's heading to spring training at the peak of his powers. He will likely be assigned to High-A or Double-A, and Arnold could join the big-league rotation sometime this summer if he pitches to expectations.

Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Signs seven-year, $70M extension
The Athletics signed Wilson to a seven-year, $70 million contract extension Friday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. The deal includes a club option for 2033.
Wilson finished runner-up to teammate Nick Kurtz in the American League Rookie of the Year voting in 2025 after slashing .311/.355/.444 with 13 home runs, five stolen bases and a 27:39 BB:K over 125 contests in his first full major-league season. The 23-year-old's upside is capped due to his lack of power and mediocre defense at shortstop, but Wilson has some of the best contact skills in the game. It's a contract that should turn out to be very team-friendly as long as he stays healthy.

Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Working on bulking up
Wilson said earlier this month that adding strength has "been the main focus for the last couple of offseasons now," Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Wilson showed a little more pop than expected in 2025, slugging 13 home runs. Power is considered the weakest part of his offensive game, though, so he's working on adding a little bulk this winter. Still, fantasy managers should consider it a bonus if they get double-digit home runs out of Wilson again in 2026, as he is most likely to provide an elite batting average but not much else.

Athletics' Leo De Vries: Nets invite to spring training
The Athletics have extended De Vries an invitation to big-league spring training.
The Athletics also invited Jamie Arnold and Gage Jump, among others, to major-league camp. Acquired from the Padres in the trade that sent Mason Miller to San Diego, De Vries slashed .255/.355/.451 with 15 home runs, 11 stolen bases and a 66:107 BB:K over 118 games between the High-A and Double-A levels in 2025. De Vries' best production came after a late-season promotion to Double-A Midland, and he'll likely head back there to begin the 2026 season. Just 19 years old, De Vries is not a finished product but has some of the highest upside of any position player in the minors.

Athletics' Chad Wallach: Lands with A's on MiLB deal
Wallach signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Sunday.
Wallach spent time with the Rangers' and Angels' Triple-A affiliates in 2025 and slashed .248/.319/.430 with 43 RBI and 33 runs scored across 259 plate appearances. The 34-year-old backstop hasn't appeared in an MLB game since 2023, and he'll likely remain a depth piece at Triple-A Las Vegas in 2026.

Athletics' Johenssy Colome: Officially signs with A's
Colome signed with the Athletics on Thursday for $4 million, Ben Badler of Baseball America reports.
The son of former big-leaguer Jesus Colome and nephew of Alex Colome, Johenssy has trended up late in the scouting process, per Baseball America. A 6-foot-2, 190-pound shortstop from the Dominican Republic, Colome could outgrow the six and slide to third base down the road. He has a chance to develop plus or better power thanks to his current bat speed and projectable frame. An average runner, Colome may not provide much, if any speed by the time he gets to the majors in five or six years.

Athletics' Bryan Lavastida: Re-signs with Athletics
The Athletics re-signed Lavastida to a minor-league contract Dec. 18.
Lavastida split the 2025 season between the Astros and Athletics minor-league systems, hitting .279/.362/.438 with 10 homers in 89 games. The 27-year-old's only major-league experience came back in 2022, and he is merely organizational depth for the A's.

Athletics' Brooks Kriske: Signs minors deal with Athletics
The Athletics signed Kriske to a minor-league contract Dec. 12.
Kriske made 16 relief appearances between the Cubs and Twins this past season, posting a 7.50 ERA and 18:15 K:BB across 18 frames. Slated to turn 32 in February, Kriske will give the A's some experienced relief depth.

Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Settles with A's
Langeliers signed a one-year, $5.25 million contract with the Athletics on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Langeliers emerged as one of the top bats in the Athletics' lineup in 2025 while slashing .277/.325/.536 with 31 homers, 72 RBI, 73 runs scored and seven steals across 123 contests. He'll take a $4.48 million raise into his fifth MLB season as a result while maintaining a firm grip on the starting catcher job in Sacramento.

Athletics' Brian Serven: Catches on with Athletics
The Athletics signed Serven to a minor-league contract Dec. 19.
Serven has slashed .187/.247/.293 in 101 games over parts of three big-league seasons. The 30-year-old collected a .648 OPS over 62 contests at Triple-A Toledo in the Tigers organization in 2025. Serven will give the Athletics some experienced catching depth at Triple-A Las Vegas.

Athletics' Cade Marlowe: Goes to A's on MiLB pact
The Athletics signed Marlowe to a minor-league contract Dec. 19.
Marlowe was removed from the Mariners' 40-man roster prior to the 2025 season and wound up spending all of the year in the minors, slashing .316/.401/.474 in 46 games with Triple-A Tacoma. The 28-year-old can handle all three outfield spots and will give the Athletics some experienced depth.

Athletics' Nick Hernandez: Nabs minors deal from A's
Hernandez signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Tuesday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.
Hernandez hasn't been able to find his footing in the big leagues just yet, as he carries a 7.06 ERA over 21.2 career MLB innings. However, he turned in an impressive 2.12 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with a 63:22 K:BB over 46.2 innings this past season while pitching for Houston's Triple-A affiliate in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. His impressive campaign will afford him an audition with the Athletics, and a few more strong performances could allow him to return to the majors in 2026.

Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Inks $86 million contract extension
The Athletics signed Soderstrom to a seven-year, $86 million contract extension Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. The deal includes a club option for 2033.
The deal buys out at least three free-agent years and can max out at $131 million if Soderstrom reaches all of the escalators in the contract. Soderstrom broke out in 2025 in his first full major-league season, slashing .276/.346/.474 with 25 home runs and 93 RBI. He also learned to play left field on the fly and took to it surprisingly well, finishing as a Gold Glove finalist. Soderstrom will be only 31 in the final year of the contract if the Athletics pick up his option, so it's a deal that is likely to be very team-friendly if he continues his upward trajectory.

Athletics' Ken Waldichuk: Scrubbed from 40-man roster
The Athletics designated Waldichuk for assignment Monday.
The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Jeff McNeil (shoulder), who was acquired via trade. Waldichuk missed all of 2024 and the first half of 2025 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, and he posted an 8.65 ERA, 2.06 WHIP and 64:42 K:BB across 51 innings this past season at Triple-A Las Vegas. The lefty will turn 28 in January and hasn't pitched in the majors since 2023, but with a career 33.9 percent strikeout rate in the minors and team control through 2029, he could draw interest via trade or waivers.

Athletics' Jeff McNeil: Shipped to Athletics
The Athletics acquired McNeil (shoulder) and cash considerations from the Mets on Monday in exchange for Yordan Rodriguez, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
McNeil finished the 2025 season with a .243/.335/.411 batting line and 12 home runs over 462 plate appearances, which was his best offensive season since he made the All-Star team and won the National League batting title in 2022. He underwent thoracic outlet surgery after this past season but is expected to be ready for spring training. Slated to turn 34 just after Opening Day, McNeil will take over as the Athletics' starting second baseman and will get a boost with a move from Citi Field to Sutter Health Park.

Athletics' Joel Kuhnel: Nabs MiLB deal from Athletics
The Athletics signed Kuhnel to a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Kuhnel spent all of the 2025 season at the Triple-A level in the Phillies and Yankees organizations. The big right-hander holds a career 5.86 ERA and 76:24 K:BB over 93.2 frames covering parts of five big-league seasons. Kuhnel will likely begin the 2026 campaign at Triple-A Las Vegas.
