Murray finished the season with 79 carries for 300 yards and two touchdowns plus 17 catches (on 22 targets) for 119 yards in 16 regular-season games.
Murray saw some run as the No. 2 back for a good stretch of the season, and it led to some nice results, with him peaking on a 6-68-1 line in Week 12. After the team's bye in Week 13, however, Murray saw only nine carries the entire remainder of the season. While he suited up in the playoffs, he didn't see a single carry. Ty Johnson clearly passed Murray in the pecking order for the stretch run. Murray turned 34 last month, and while he still ran with some power and proved to be a nice veteran asset for the Bills as an complement to James Cook, he probably doesn't have much more football left in his fine career.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Won't suit up Week 18
Rotowire
Murray has been ruled a healthy scratch ahead of Sunday's game against the Bills.
Murray has seen his role continously decrease over the past few weeks as James Cook has taken on a larger workload over the same span. With addition of fellow veteran running back Leonard Fournette alongside core special-teamer and third-stringer Ty Johnson, it appears Murray is now the odd man out in this rotation. The 33-year-old will be sidelined for the first time this season Sunday.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Role shrinking
Rotowire
Murray had one carry for zero yards and failed to reel in his only target during Sunday's 27-21 win over the Patriots.
Murray has just the one carry over the past two games and hasn't exceeded 32 percent of the offensive snaps in any of the past four games. With James Cook thriving in the bellcow role and quarterback Josh Allen tied for second in the league with 15 rushing touchdowns, it's only scraps left for Murray and Ty Johnson, and now practice-squad member Leonard Fournette is even an option. All of this makes Murray a role player, not a fantasy target.

Bills' Latavius Murray: No carries for first time in 2023
Rotowire
Murray did not record a carry or target in Saturday's 24-22 win over the Chargers.
Murray has served as the No. 2 running back behind James Cook most of the season and leads all Buffalo running backs with four rushing touchdowns, but it's noteworthy that Leonard Fournette saw five carries in a tight game compared to none for Murray. Fournette -- who joined the Bills' practice squad in October -- has plenty of cred and is five years younger than Murray, so it'll be interesting to see how the Bills split up the backup carries the rest of the way. With Josh Allen up to 13 rushing touchdowns on the season, no one besides Cook holds anything more than speculative value in the Buffalo running back corps.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Week 16 Waiver Priority List
Rotowire
Murray can be an interesting flex play in Week 16 at the Chargers. James Cook has become a stud for the Bills with at least 16 PPR points in four games in a row, and he should be excellent against the Chargers. But if the Bills have a big lead then Murray can help close out the game, especially with Ty Johnson (shoulder) banged up. The Chargers are No. 5 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and Murray just scored a touchdown last week against the Cowboys.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Scores notable touchdown
Rotowire
Murray rushed five times for 11 yards and a score and was not targeted in the passing game during Sunday's 31-10 win over the Cowboys.
Murray ran for his fourth touchdown of the season, giving him nine straight campaigns of four-plus TD runs, something no other active player in the league can say. The 33-year-old has proven he can still bring value to a contending team, but starter James Cook has begun to look like a superstar the past few weeks, and Murray is locked into a clear No. 2 role. However, Murray may be a better goal-line back from inside the five, so that might keep him relevant in very deep leagues.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Modest production in win
Rotowire
Murray gained nine yards on three carries and caught his lone target for 21 yards in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Chiefs.
Murray continued his role as the Bills' No. 2 running back behind James Cook, playing 32 percent of Buffalo's offensive snaps Sunday. While Cook played the most snaps (34) of any running back and handled the most touches (15), Murray was used sparingly in relief of his teammate. The 33-year-old's limited opportunities put a cap on his ability to produce consistently in Buffalo's offense. Murray will be an untrustworthy option for fantasy purposes when Bills host the Cowboys in Week 15.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Shares backfield with Cook, Johnson
Rotowire
Murray carried the ball nine times for 30 yards in Sunday's 37-34 overtime loss to the Eagles.
Murray's role has certainly settled into a tight zone this season -- he's had nine or 10 carries in each of the past three weeks while playing a modest role in the offense behind starter James Cook. Ty Johnson is also starting to see action in the backfield with a touchdown catch in Week 11 and six carries for 19 yards in the loss to the Eagles. Murray has been an asset for the Bills, but he's simply a bit player in an offense that has plenty of other guys that can score touchdowns. He has found the end zone three times this season, but only once since Week 3.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Strong showing in tough loss
Rotowire
Murray carried nine times for 68 yards and a score while catching two balls on three targets for one yard in Monday's 24-22 loss to the Broncos.
The touchdown was Murray's first since Week 3, while the rushing yardage was a season high. He was the beneficiary of teammate James Cook's sudden fumbling issues Monday, and the 33-year-old Murray ran aggressively while bringing energy to a stagnant offense while Cook stood on the sideline in the doghouse. The younger RB redeemed himself later in the game and finished with 109 rushing yards, but the performance by Murray was probably enough to keep him comfortably in the No. 2 seat while Damien Harris is on IR (concussion) and Leonard Fournette remains on the practice squad.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Three touches in loss
Rotowire
Murray gained four yards on two carries and caught his only target for six yards in Sunday's 24-18 loss to the Bengals.
Murray saw limited opportunities while playing 45 percent of the Bills' offensive snaps. The veteran running back's four yards on the ground were a season low, while starter James Cook struggled to get going as well, rushing just six times for 20 yards. Murray is seeing limited usage even with Damien Harris (concussion/neck) on injured reserve. To muddy the waters even more in the backfield, the Bills signed Leonard Fournette to their practice squad on Oct. 30, and he could compete with Murray for the No. 2 role. Nonetheless, the 33-year-old will look to hold down his spot behind Cook and earn a bigger workload when the Bills host the Broncos in Week 10.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Limited usage in Week 8 win
Rotowire
Murray carried five times for seven yards and caught his only target for four yards in Thursday's 24-18 win over Tampa Bay.
Murray actually had two good cracks to score a touchdown, but he was stopped both times inside the five-yard line and his night ended as a fantasy dud. Murray has seen a slight rise in carries following a neck injury to teammate Damien Harris (neck), as he's had three of his season's top four offensive snap shares in the last three games. With the Bills having so many weapons on offense, the 33-year-old Murray remains mostly a touchdown-dependent option, and he hasn't found the end zone since Week 3.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Six touches in Week 7 loss
Rotowire
Murray rushed four times for eight yards and caught both of his targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 29-25 loss to New England.
Murray's role didn't change much in the absence of Damien Harris (neck/concussion), as James Cook continued to dominate touches in Buffalo's backfield. Cook had 102 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 16 touches while Murray was limited to single-digit touches for the sixth time in seven games. Murray is expected to work as Cook's backup again when the Buccaneers come to town Thursday.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Key carries in Sunday's win
Rotowire
Murray carried 12 times for 45 yards in Sunday's 14-9 win over the Giants.
Although the yards were hard to come by for both teams in the low-scoring affair, Murray saw only two less carries than starter James Cook and was frequently on the field during crucial downs, which included short-yardage and red-zone plays. The yardage was a season high for the 33-year-old, who could continue to see a meaningful amount of carries if Damien Harris' neck injury ends up keeping him out of future action.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Low usage in London loss
Rotowire
Murray gained six yards on two carries and caught his only target for one yard in Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Jaguars in London.
About the only good thing you can say about Murray's lackluster performance was that he continues to see more snaps (10-9 on Sunday) than teammate Damian Harris, something that's been the case in all five games this season. That said, James Cook is the clear top back for Buffalo and quarterback Josh Allen takes on a fair amount of rushing volume too, and he actually led the team in rushing Sunday with 14 yards. Murray does have two rushing touchdowns this season, but he's mostly un-rosterable outside of deep TD-only formats.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Surprise leader in rushing yardage
Rotowire
Murray carried four times for 32 yards and caught two passes for 24 yards in Sunday's 48-20 win over the Dolphins.
Murray surprisingly led the Bills in rushing, as the team had four players carry for between 17 and 32 yards in what turned into a lopsided win. He continues to show that he's slipped past Damien Harris in the pecking order, though both veterans remain behind the more electric James Cook, who has seen action on 146 offensive snaps compared to 69 for Murray and 45 for Harris. In terms of production, Murray has posted 125 yards from scrimmage and two scores compared to 96 total yards and one TD for Harris.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Works ahead of Harris
Rotowire
Murray carried the ball six times for 22 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 38-10 win over the Raiders. He added two receptions on two targets for nine yards.
James Cook served as the lead back for the Bills, but Murray mixed in as early as the second possession. He capped that drive with a four-yard touchdown plunge and was also regularly on the field when the ball was inside the opponent's 10-yard line. That role will leave him as a touchdown-or-bust option, but it appears that he has jumped Damien Harris on the depth chart.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Modest role in team debut
Rotowire
Murray rushed two times for eight yards and caught one of two targets for nine yards in Monday's 22-16 overtime loss to the Jets.
Starter James Cook saw 59 percent of the offensive snaps, but Murray actually saw more work than teammate Damien Harris, getting a 23 percent share to Harris' 13 percent. Harris was presumed to have some fantasy value this year in Buffalo due to his likely goal-line use, but Murray is no slouch in the red zone either with 55 career rushing touchdowns. It looks like the Bills are going to run their offense through Cook and Josh Allen, so for now Murray and Harris don't offer much upside.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Survives roster cuts
Rotowire
Murray remains on the Bills' roster following Tuesday's cutdown day.
The 33-year-old Murray seemed like a good bet to make the team all along once Nyheim Hines was lost for the season due to an off-field knee injury, but that's been put in ink unless the Bills see someone younger they really like on the waiver wire. The Buffalo backfield will have a bit of a committee feel to it, though Murray -- based on his age and a few other factors -- seems to be the third option behind James Cook and Damien Harris.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Rested for preseason finale
Rotowire
Murray was held out from Saturday's preseason finale against the Bears, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
The implication is that Murray is in good position for a roster spot and perhaps is even a threat to overtake Damien Harris for the No. 2 RB role. James Cook and Harris both got work with the starters Saturday, though Cook came out of the game after a couple drives while Harris continued playing deep into the second quarter.

Bills' Latavius Murray: Debuts with new team
Rotowire
Murray carried five times for 18 yards and caught all three targets for 21 yards in Buffalo's preseason win over the Colts on Saturday.
Murray has been in the league since 2014 and is the league's fourth-leading career rusher among active players, so it's not like he needs a ton of work to be ready for another campaign. However, with Damien Harris out with a knee injury, Murray has a chance to state his case for a more meaningful role for the start of the season, and perhaps a clear-cut No. 2 role if Harris' injury lingers. James Cook looks like the starter, but this is a high-powered offense and one that has historically rotated running backs, so Murray's preseason usage and output is worth monitoring. Murray also appears to have a roster spot locked up following the season-ending, off-field injury to teammate Nyheim Hines (knee).
